My students love the crossword search and trying to avoid the bombs. We also like the other puzzles found throughout the game. ### 5/5 — Great app *2013-05-02, version 1.0.1* My students loved it! The pirate theme kept everybody's attention. Colorful and fun. They really liked the crossword puzzle and trying to avoid the bombs. There is a silent tutorial before each activity showing how the activity is completed. The activities use a higher level of logic in solving the puzzles and is a higher skill level than preschool crowd. Very good levels of activities for elementary age students. Some sort of progress tracking would be a nice addition to this app. ### 4/5 — Engaging and fun *2013-05-02* The premise of the app (pirates finding buried treasure) will delight most youngsters. The way learning is woven into the game is clever. It took a few tries for me to discover the treasure map and then find the treasure, but it was addicting! There were some bugs (the puzzle froze, the keys didn't work) but just replaying the games would clear it. Overall, the game is clever and learning happens while having fun. ### 4/5 — Fun app! *2013-05-02* This is a fun app for elementary school-aged kids. I enjoyed it as well, and found it hard to put down! My five-year-old preschooler was able to do the word finding puzzles with lots of help; this part is good for building spelling skills in early readers. He could do the logic puzzles on his own or with some help. It was fun to earn treasure map puzzle pieces and and tools are we completed each level. Would help to have more easily identifiable puzzle pieces for visually impaired kids and data tracking would be helpful. ### 4/5 — Great problem solving, spelling, math *2013-05-02* Great theme to catch the eye of any child! Especially those "sometime hard to motivate" boys. Great graphics! If one doesn't solve a word puzzle in the first try, they can return to it with the same words but a different letter clue is given. Highly motivating, causing player to persevere to get to the treasure! Contains easily understandable, built in demo so players understand the object of the game with little to no adult explanation. Provides hints which are vague just enough to get player using higher level thinking instead of just "telling" them the answer in the hint. Multilingual in 8 different languages. Great to practice a second language. Game settings to set difficulty level and to reset. One thing lacking in this game is tracking individual progress. If another player wishes to play, you must reset the game outside of the app or allow them to continue where the first player left off. Then the one player loses all of the levels they had already accomplished when they wish to play again. Malheureusement un bug c'est produit. Un coffre sur quatre ne s'est pas ouvert,la clé est rester pris en dessous du coffre. Mon fils était bien déçus de ne pas le voir ouvrir. Il a fallu fermer le niveau pour continuer. Honnêtement j'aimerais mieux me faire rembourser cette achat parce qu'on ne sait jamais quand cela va se reproduire. ### 2/5 — good for practice *2013-05-01* Although I like the graphics and music, this app seemed to be more of a game to practice spelling vs. a learning tool. It was too easy to randomly guess to find the letters that make up the words. I also think the graphics on the side (to indicate what words to look for) and the graphics on the treasure chests (for matching the keys) were too small, and need to be larger and more obvious, especially considering children who have difficulty with some visual motor skills. The overall size of the letters in the word find game was OK. ### 3/5 — Good... but *2020-05-08, version 2.0.1* Please update your apps. We bought the complete learning pack only to find out we couldn’t play Happi pirates (my child was really looking forward to this) or full throttle. ### 3/5 — 2 problèmes rencontrés *2016-07-07, version 1.2* 1. Une fois l'énigme finale résolue, on ne nous propose pas de réinitialiser l'application. Un autre enfant ne peut donc pas refaire ce parcours. Reste à voir si on doit supprimer l'application et la réinstaller pour remettre les paramètres à zéro. 2. Le mot "poêle" est mal orthographié et cela empêche de placer le mot transversal à celui-ci sachant qu'il s'écrit avec une "ê". On le voit écrit de cette façon : "poìle". There is no requirement for him to get any learning of the word and how to spell. ### 4/5 — Pirates *2013-05-05* Nice incorporation of learning and fun. Teaches young students about crosswords. The second portion has a variety of matching tasks to earn tools. Finally finding pieces of the map keeps you motivated to work through the crosswords. It's a game that requires logic and thinking along with spelling and math skills. All these will be strengthened while playing this game.
