Social media feed algorithms get a lot of hate these days... A feed based on an algorithm is very efficient at showing specific kinds of content more frequently than others, and sorting out what should be shown to match a given criteria. If you've used Social Media these past few years you are aware that this is true, it's just likely not filtering based on a criteria you value. Feed Algorithms are designed around increasing a given metric, for a large social media platform, that metric might be "revenue". The more ads you see the more money they make.
