### 4/5 — 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

*2026-07-17, version 1.39*

It’s a really good app I’m 12 and use it you can join groups and stuff it’s really fun the only thing is that after a while it gets really boring

### 5/5 — So cute

*2025-11-21*

Absolut süße App, macht total Spaß seine Werte zu verfolgen und mit anderen zu teilen.

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2025-11-13, version 1.29*

This is an awesome app for people with diabetes. It helps people feel more included and also has a lot of fun things to do.

### 3/5 — Works great but Bob can get annoying…

*2025-11-12, version 1.29*

The app echoes what your dexcom app readings are. Its notifications are not as loud and intrusive as dexcoms. The widget also is more responsive than dexcoms as well. Only problem is Bob’s attitude when your blood sugar is high. Repeatedly I would get notifications that “You must have skipped the diabetes orientation” or “Did you forget to take insulin?”. At first it’s fine but seeing it everyday made me frustrated. Brief spikes in blood sugar are normal after eating. I don’t need Bob to tell me how bad I’m doing when I’m doing just fine. It would make more sense if Bob made these comments for sustained high blood sugar, or just not at all. Irl people already make ignorant comments about diabetes and I don’t need Bob to piss me off anymore than they do. Otherwise, its a good app.

### 5/5 — Snarky bob is awesome

*2025-11-12, version 1.29*

I love how snarky bob talk

### 5/5 — Child like

*2025-11-08, version 1.29*

It is cute but it does give insight

### 2/5 — What is the subscription for?

*2025-11-07, version 1.29*

This is a cute app but it is completely useless. I wouldn’t mind paying a one time fee, but for the life of me, I can’t understand what is the purpose of the subscription or the app. Ten dollars per month so that the app can either motivate you or insult you. Crazy.

### 5/5 — T1d

*2025-09-27, version 1.28*

I love happy bob it makes t1d so much more fun although I wish you could pick ur own character or personality for the happy bob without having to pay.

### 5/5 — Happy Bob

*2025-09-13, version 1.28*

It is rilly fun and helps me have a better blood sugar😁

### 5/5 — I have six kids with T1D and they all use different CGMs I wish the CGMs took more then dexcom 😢

*2025-09-06, version 1.26*

But I can’t complain bc I use dexcom

### 5/5 — 41

### 5/5 — bob

*2025-06-05, version 1.22.15*

bob :) he’s very happy :)

### 3/5 — Premium subscribers shouldn’t be getting Ads

*2025-04-15, version 1.22.10*

It’s a great app, could use a little updating but I’m not happy about the pop ups asking me to buy the $600/year subscription with nurse calls; Especially if I’m paying $70/year for the premium subscription.

### 5/5 — Best

*2025-04-06, version 1.22.8*

Best diabetes manager EVER

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-03-29, version 1.22.8*

It is great I use it on my Apple Watch

### 4/5 — Great Tool for Managing Diabetes!

*2025-03-20, version 1.22.7*

This is a great app for managing diabetes. The motivational messages can be very helpful especially when blood sugars are good. I would prefer to see more positive motivational messages directed at bringing blood sugar back in range when it is high or low. I'm not a fan on the sassy or rude messages when I'm out of range and I have treated it and I have to wait for the treatment to work. Exercise, insulin, and food all take time to work to bring your blood sugar in range. It can be very stressful receiving frequent notifications letting you know you are still not in range when you know it will take time, which in turn makes managing the blood sugar situation very stressful and adds to the frustration. Yes, I would like the treatments to work immediately too... but they don't. I hope in the future the notification messages can be kinder and less frequent in order to make management less stressful, as stress doesn't help with managing blood sugars. Food takes at least 15 minutes + time to get the food to bring your blood sugar up from a low. Ideally notifications should be able to be silenced for 20 minutes to give the sugar time to work, or there should be increments of time users can select from to silence notifications after they have treated their situation. High blood sugar can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours to come down into range depending on how high it is and many other biological and environment variables we cannot control. Users should be able to silence the notifications while they are working on bringing it down. Often too many notifications, especially with sarcastic, sassy, and rude messages can make a very difficult and frustrating situation more difficult and frustrating, and it can in turn have a negative impact on management. Hopefully a future update will include more understanding, positive and motivational messages when blood sugar is not in range, and less frequent notifications or enable users to choose the frequency they receive notifications. This would improve my experience.

However, this app is truly amazing! It would be great for kids, but it is also great for people of all ages who need something fun and motivational to help manage diabetes. Love the positive messages when I'm in range!

### 4/5 — Good and sometimes bad.

*2025-03-11, version 1.22.6*

This app keeps me cheered up but when I’m high some of the comments are rude. But I love this app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-07-25, version 1.40*

Have to pay subscription for fun characters. 😔 CGM numbers were hours behind and I couldn’t find out how to fix it. Happy bob was mean. 😭 He told me I’m bad at taking care of my diabetes when I was high. 💔.
⭐️🫥🫥🫥🫥. 1 star.
Worked for some people and I just wanted a fun way to deal with T1D.🫩 Disappointed.Would not recommend. 😓

### 1/5 — Nag- not coaching app

*2024-07-06, version 1.21.6*

This app is a horrible negative voice even when you manage your diabetes fairly well. It offers no insight or positive analytical or supportive coaching. It does however pile on to the continual negative self-criticism for the impossible task of impersonating a pancreas without acknowledging either the process of autocorrecting pumps or estimation for unknowns like guesses of carb counts, stress or illness. If you want a complex this app is for you. If you want insight and self-help, look elsewhere- and for the sake of all that is holy, please don't add this voice to the ear of children!

### 1/5 — OK but poorly implemented

*2024-07-05, version 1.21.6*

I got an alert for a high that said, “Guess you shouldn’t have had another donut.” I thought that was in poor taste. It’s like I feel bad enough on my own, do I need an app criticizing me, too?

### 1/5 — Comments aren’t appropriate

*2024-03-16, version 1.20*

I downloaded this to test to see if it would be good for my son 9 but have found the comments are not very child friendly on a number of occasions

### 1/5 — Update

*2024-02-24, version 1.19.1*

Update! The app now doesn’t t work at all! I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling, but I always get a screen saying Error ongoing maintenance! This has been ongoing for a week or more. I have a subscription which runs out in November and paid £60. I cannot reach out to “Happy Bob”. I am very unhappy Bob! I will be reaching out to Apple.

I’ve upgraded and would love this app if it actually worked in real time. I have Dexcom 7 and yet often HB is 1 hour or more behind. There does not appear to be an update/synch button. So it’s proving useless and I feel cheated. £60 is a lot to waste on this app.

### 1/5 — Hi this is just my opinion

*2024-01-16, version 1.19.1*

This app should be able to be used with different things including the Libre and different devices that are for diabetics

### 1/5 — Apple Health sync doesn’t work

*2023-02-14, version 1.16.1*

Tried the Apple Health option as I am not on Dexcom but have my data synced to Apple Health from my CGM app. Doesn’t work, received a 400 error in the app.

### 1/5 — It was an ok app

*2022-11-04, version 1.14.2*

It keep saying things that were kinda mean.My daughter loved it and was upset when I said it was super mean and that I’m deleting it.

### 1/5 — NOT EVERY T1 USES DEXCOM!

*2022-08-23, version 1.13.3*

I downloaded this app purely to leave this review. My daughter would absolutely LOVE to use Happy Bob, however, she can’t because the app only works with Dexcom 🙄 Believe it or not, there are other CGM’s out there with thousands of users. I’d gladly spend money and subscribe to the snarky messages if only it worked with Medtronic’s CGM (which also has a follow app, just 👏🏼 like 👏🏼 Dexcom 👏🏼!) Make this happen, please!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-06-12, version 1.13.2*

Been connected for months, keep getting “you haven’t been connected in awhile” started a new transmitter, and it doesn’t start even after my warm up.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Happy Bob makes diabetes less lonely

*2026-06-23, version 1.38*

The notifications that come up can really direct me in a way that the Dexcom app does not. Some of the scenes can be a little corny, but on the whole this has been a very useful part of my diabetes. I’m rather merciless with subscriptions as considered not renewing it, but it’s crucial when I started thinking about it and how I interact with it and how it interacts with me.

### 5/5 — wonderful

*2026-04-20, version 1.38*

great app. use it everyday. so fun and cute!

### 5/5 — Happy Jeff

*2026-04-04, version 1.38*

I did not do paid version for a month and just plowed along just like any other day. Three weeks ago I thought “what the hey I’ll give it a try. I found myself checking Happy Bob several times a day and that I would never check and I have been in range for two weeks now. Want to get my money’s worth after all! It’s fun, helpful, and an A1C that is on track for 5.8 from 10.8!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-03-05, version 1.38*

This app keeps me on top of my levels and the humor is Great.

*2026-02-13, version 1.37*
