## What is Happy Health?

Happy Health is your training partner for the gym. It doesn’t just log weights, it shows you how you train and celebrates every bit of progress. No red numbers, no streaks that break when you take a break, no guilt.

TRAIN
• Training plans with multiple days, sets, rep ranges, rest times, and supersets
• 90+ exercises with images and instructions, plus as many of your own as you like
• Create a new exercise with Apple Intelligence: type a name, and muscles, equipment, and instructions are suggested, right on your iPhone
• Plan with AI: an AI of your choice builds a plan from Happy Health’s exercises or revises yours, and you review everything before saving
• Share plans as files and import them
• Live workouts set by set, with last time’s values already filled in
• Warm-up sets per exercise, with the right weights worked out for you
• A rest timer that starts on its own, with a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
• Training coach: suggests the right weight, tuned to your reps, your intensity, and your past workouts
• Rate your effort with one swipe, skipping is always fine

PROGRESS THAT MOTIVATES
• New personal bests, more reps, and higher volume get celebrated
• Training Focus: a body shows which muscles you’ve trained lately, from gray to red, gently fading during breaks
• Comparisons with your current form instead of old records
• Comeback mode: after a break the app welcomes you back and can suggest lighter weights to ease back in
• Stats on frequency, duration, rests, intensity, and strength progress, explained in simple, positive sentences
• Workout history with all your workouts by month

BODY
• Your weight with a 7-day average, ups and downs are put in context instead of judged
• Body measurements with history and optional progress photos
• A friendly weigh-in reminder, if you want one
• Optional goal weight, shown as the part of the journey you’ve already completed, with a celebration when you reach it

APPLE HEALTH, APPLE WATCH, AND MORE
• Apple Health (optional): Happy Health reads weight and sleep, and saves your workouts as strength training so they also appear in the Fitness app
• Apple Watch: complete sets right on your wrist and adjust weight and reps with the Digital Crown. Your workout runs with heart rate and calories and counts toward your Activity rings
• Heart rate per set and recovery during rest (with Apple Watch), read live from Apple Health
• Widgets for your next workout and your training week
• Siri and Shortcuts: start a workout, show your next workout, log your weight
• Dark Mode, Dynamic Type, kg or lb
• In English and German

YOUR DATA BELONGS TO YOU
No account, no tracking, no ads. Your data stays on your device and, if you like, in your private iCloud. Data from Apple Health is never stored in iCloud. You can export a backup file at any time.

Happy Health is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases.

Exercise images and descriptions partly come from the free database wger.de (CC BY-SA). You’ll find the license details in the app under Settings › Sources & Licenses.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-10-21

• Training Focus: a body shows you which muscles you’ve trained most lately. The more, the redder, and during breaks they gently fade. Tap a muscle to see when you last trained it, how many sets you did, and with which exercises. Just swipe between front and back.
• Training coach: right next to the input fields, a hint suggests the right weight, tuned to your reps, your intensity, and over time to your own workouts. If a set was clearly too easy, it goes up in proportion; if it was really tough, a bit lighter. One tap applies it. Suggestions come in 5 kg (10 lb) steps that every machine can do, and you can turn them off in Settings.
• Last set: the very last set of your workout lights up in rainbow colors, so you give it everything one more time. And at the top you can always see when you started and how long you’ve been training.
• Plan with AI: let an AI of your choice create a training plan or revise an existing one, for example with different equipment. Happy Health gives it the exercise list, so only exercises that exist here end up in the plan. You’ll see everything again before it’s saved, and when revising, also what was swapped, added, or dropped.
• Rest over: the notification now arrives reliably, also with Apple Watch and through the Fitness focus. Long-press it to add 30 seconds or a minute; in the app, “+30 s” stays up for a moment.
• Share plans: an exported plan is now its own file you can pass on to training partners. “Import” figures out by itself whether it’s a plan or a backup.
• Noticeably smoother: switching tabs and opening Progress are now much faster.
• The nutrition card in the Body tab has been removed. Happy Health no longer reads calorie intake from Apple Health.
• Small improvements: the first time you do an exercise, the following sets also take over your reps, plus and minus speed up much faster when held, the checkmark above the keyboard no longer blocks anything, and the rest card no longer slides over what you’re typing.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-13

• Heart rate per set: with Apple Watch you see the average and peak for every set and how much your heart rate recovers during rest. Plus new insights in Progress, for example when you’ve gotten fitter.
• Warm-up sets: set them per exercise, and the app works out the right weights for you.
• “Up Next” follows your weekdays. You can catch up on a missed workout on the free day after.
• Workout history: all your workouts by month, with duration, volume, and intensity.
• Body: your weight is front and center, with your 7-day average right below. New charts for weight and measurements, just slide your finger across them.
• One weight per day: when logging, you see the value for the chosen day and can correct it. The same goes for measurements, plus an overview of all measurements. A dot in the calendar marks every day with an entry.
• Reached your goal weight? There’s confetti, and you decide whether to set a new goal or maintain your weight. Gaining weight as a goal works just the same.
• Progress photos show your weight and measurements from that exact day.
• The Apple Watch rest timer shows up instantly when you raise your wrist, and its ring now stays accurate when you lengthen or shorten your rest.
• Bug fixes, including a crash when tapping the weigh-in reminder.
