## What is Haptics?

Hapics: Pocket Edition is an app for learning haptic communication and guidance through the use of signals. Explore a dictionary of 140+ haptic signs with clear descriptions, video and audio, available in English and Norwegian. Search signs, save favourites, create your own custom lists and share them with others. Text works offline, and accessibility options like high contrast and adjustable text size help you tailor the app to your needs.

Social haptic communication, commonly referred to as haptics, is a standardized method for providing visual and environmental information and social feedback to an individual with vision loss or a combined vision and hearing loss, via touch signals on the body. The purpose of this app is to organize and present a standardized methodology for haptic communication so that everyone may use this method in a uniform and predictable manner. This standardization will permit receivers and providers to use these unique signals anywhere in the world.
