### 5/5 — Fidget spinner +?

*2024-05-01, version 1.2.7*

I'm not sure I'll ever use it to make music but even as a tool to explore rhythms and melodies for fun it is worth the purchase. I'd possibly get more use out of it in a composing sense if I could manually place triggers with or without a snap to grid, and then affect them with the control settings, though I understand that is not the common user need. Again, well worth it just for musical exploration and losing yourself in the moment.

### 5/5 — Revised Review

*2024-04-26, version 1.2.7*

I posted about the AUV3 version not working and also contacted the dev on the support site. The response was positive and immediate.
This app is a very original & creative design and well worth checking out if you’re into generative, ambient type musical ideas.
Kudos to the dev. Great job.

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2024-04-14, version 1.2.4*

Absolutely a ground breaking sequencer. Different and unique. Perfect!

### 5/5 — Useful, in more than one way

*2024-04-13, version 1.2.4*

The name ‘Harmony Bloom’ unintentionally disguises the fact that the app is also very useful for generating melody. Already there is a great variety to what can be done and it is relatively intuitive to use. Hence the 5 stars. What I would love to see added is the ability to select individual notes and adjust their duration. If technically possible, also being able to bend those notes would be excellent. But as it stands this is a superb example of what a creative developer can bring to IOS, and well worth buying.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-04-13, version 1.2.4*

Mario Nieto is a genius! Truly a pleasure to tweak values and let this thing run. The visuals are gorgeous. The fact that you can use it as a midi processor, means that you can use any synth with it. I paired it with BLEASS Alpha and just got back from Jupiter! I know what I’ll be doing all weekend \,,/ Get this app yesterday

### 5/5 — Inspiring sequencer

*2024-04-13, version 1.2.4*

I have bought many sequencer apps over the years but this is a very special one!
stunning visual overview of what’s going on:)

Highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — Beautiful Sequencer

*2024-04-12, version 1.2.4*

Having Harmony Bloom as a vst is great, but to have it as a AUv3 app is even greater. THX.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Still dysfunctional

*2024-04-23, version 1.2.6*

I just updated the app to the newest version and now it doesn’t operate at all in standalone or even show up anymore in AUM. How is this on the App Store when it has so many bugs and isn’t even recognised properly by iOS

### 1/5 — Ios 12.5.7 crash

*2024-04-22, version 1.2.4*

The app don’t want to launch.

### 2/5 — Unique

*2025-09-07, version 1.3.6*

Inspiring and potentially wonderfully but let down by lack of support. The “keep on preset switch” is broken and I have reached out for updates but still waiting over 4 months… just updated and still not fixed. The desktop version seems a lot more supported. I love this app, dev please help.

### 2/5 — Falls short of its potential

*2024-12-04, version 1.3.1*

App fails to recognize my AUV3 apps. Critical text and icons are illegible to someone with aging eyes. Dev’s tutorials and online manual fall desperately short and do not apply to iOS app. Correct these deficiencies and you’ll have a 5-star app.

### 3/5 — MIDI capture not working in standalone

*2025-04-18, version 1.3.4*

Real potential with this app, but let down by poor implementation of MIDI capture (not working at all in standalone), and no options available to export MIDI files for use as clips in a DAW.

So currently limited use as a hosted AU sequencer.

5 stars if this is addressed.

### 4/5 — unique and wonderful midi generator

*2025-05-23, version 1.3.4*

There is a lot to like about this midi generator with nothing I know quite like it in functionality. I am only removing one star because I feel the interface needs to be adapted for a touchscreen. The UX clearly was designed for a desktop user first. On the iPad 12.9 some buttons are so small it requires the Apple Pencil for any type of accuracy. Imagine if this had big kinetic sliders for live play…

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-03-20, version 1.3.6*

I use it within Logic and it’s great at generating random (that you adjust / determine parameters) notes when used to control another instrument. Can be used on its own. Highly recommend HB especially for ambient music, albeit HB can be used for any style of music of course.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2026-03-20, version 1.3.6*

Way fun

### 5/5 — Pure Joy + Professional Power

*2025-12-11, version 1.3.6*

Obviously it can’t exist in a vacuum, but I’ve ever had the thought “this is the best thing I’ve bought for making noise!” Lacking features for iOS: MIDI Learn + iPhone compatibility - hope those are on the roadmap!

### 5/5 — How do I lock the scale and mode ??

*2025-07-03, version 1.3.4*

I do NOT have a mouse to right click to lock the scale and mode !!! Tap and. Hold does reveal the option to lock it !!!… very annoyed with this right from the start

## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-04-27, version 1.3.4*

Produces phantastic patterns!

### 5/5 — In awe, truly, at the mesmerizing melodies this can produce and evolve.

*2025-03-11, version 1.3.4*

At first, I had a big problem in Logic. Everything was never in sync with my tempo. It was driving me crazy, making me think this app was too hard to use and not for me.

Then, I figured my Logic was set up for 48khz, and switched it to 44.1, and bam. It worked… and wow… just setting 2 midi notes on a loop, and playing with the settings, I came up with hundreds of beautiful melodies.

After understanding what each option does by trial and error, I understood how I can not just create, but evolve these melodies in real time.

This is criminally cheap for what it can do. It blows my collection of midi sequencers out of the water, and it’s so easy to use once you spend a few minutes understanding it.

Buy this, load up some beautiful synths patches, and go on a journey. This app is pure bliss.

### 5/5 — There’s a lot here

*2024-05-23, version 1.2.8*

It’s a great glorious bag full of possibilities. And with AUM compatibility and individual trigger bars per connection it opens up the variety exponentially. Great fun to play around with, but plenty of control if tailoring your sounds is your preference.

I’m just getting started with this and Neon, another great new sequencer-like app. Hours of my evening have been very pleasantly lost.

### 5/5 — Best sequencer app

*2024-05-22, version 1.2.8*

Absolutely incredible app. I’ve been using my iPad for 3 years now and this is the first review I have written. That says a great deal about how cool Harmony Bloom is. The developer is totally engaged with the music-making community, listening to requests…this app is a living, evolving project and a lot of time, love and effort has gone into it. Ignore the 1 star review, it’s utter nonsense. Well done Mario!

### 5/5 — This is a top 5 end of year best of list for sure!

*2024-05-11*

I’m currently using it with guitar parts, and it shines!

### 5/5 — Ableton Link

*2024-05-11, version 1.2.7*

Please add Ableton Link MIDI synchronization. 🙏
