But this app is so glitchy it is unusable. I can’t order anything because the app glitches when I try to put in my address. I can’t read the reviews for any teas. Some of the teas straight up don’t load. The organization of the app is not great. Please someone fix this. ### 3/5 — Wishlist *2024-08-29, version 15.5.0* The wishlist doesn’t show in the app. But it does if I log in online. Please fix this. ### 3/5 — Not as good as it looks. *2024-08-07, version 15.3.10* The pictures are professional looking and accurate. But that doesn’t make it a good app. I have been buying tea from Harney for ten years. The app and website remembers my name and email address. They wouldn’t want to miss sending an advertisement, but as for my billing and shipping address, forget it—and it hasn’t changed for 10 years! My phone number? Tired of entering it repeatedly. They dropped Apple Pay and there is no easy way to pay with your fingerprint or Face ID. Go hunt up your credit card, again. And their search engine is not at all user friendly. Click on a specific tea to learn about it, and when you return to the category of tea you are searching the app starts you all over at the beginning. Note: there are currently 184 types of black tea available. Try scrolling through that list multiple times and see how you like it. ### 2/5 — The tea is great, the app needs help! *2024-05-17, version 15.3.9* Each time I try to use this app, I get stuck in one screen or another and can’t get out of it. Today as I was trying to check out I got frozen in the “How to redeem your points screen”. It asks if you want to use your reward points, takes you to the “how to use screen” and you can’t use your points or checkout. VERY frustrating. The are lucky I love the tea! ### 2/5 — Great tea but poor app. *2024-05-06, version 15.3.8* Have been a long time Harney customer. Love so many of their teas. Customer service is great and ordering on the website is pretty easy and smooth. This app on the other hand is a massive let down. For example. 1. Will not load most of the time. Have to close it and reopen it frequently while it's stuck on the company logo screen. 2. Has a habit of freezing from time to time. 3. Using customer loyalty points can be an issue. Sometimes they just don't transfer to a code. 4. The biggest issue I have... If I'm logged in on my Harney account on a browser and I place items in my cart I can not then open the app to finish the purchase. Even if I'm logged into the same account my cart is empty. This is annoying becuase sometimes I'm not near my phone but on my ipad or computer ### 4/5 — Great tea! App needs work. *2024-04-05, version 15.3.6* I love the tea they make. Every one I’ve tried so far has been wonderful. The app though, is a bit prone to glitches. Someone spilled water into my London Fog tin and when I went to make some this afternoon, I found it full of mold. Gross. Nearly full tin, into the trash. I have some Scottish Afternoon on hand though, so made that instead. I went to order more tea and my Wishlist is empty. Shouldn’t be. The app says I’m logged in and it’s up to date. 🤷🏻 Then I added a few things to my cart. Went to check out. Cart’s empty. 🫣 Sigh. Worst come to worst, I’ll delete and reinstall the app. It’s slightly annoying having these issues nearly every time though. It would be great if they’d squash some of those bugs soon. This has been ongoing for months. ### 2/5 — app needs some work *2024-03-29, version 15.3.6* I love Harney & Son’s Teas. I really wanted to love the app too, but it doesn’t seem to be fully developed. It lagged and took awhile for each item I selected to load, so it made placing my order frustrating. I opened the website to compare experiences and the website is so much more efficient. The app is also missing a lot of information that the website has, so that’s also disappointing. I used the app to get the discount, so I guess it balanced out some, but the app needs a lot of work to match the user experience of the website. ### 2/5 — Ordering is broken, favorites not saved *2024-02-28, version 15.3.5* I have tried and tried to add my shipping address to place an order. It will not save it. After entering my address and saving it, it doesn’t show up in my list of addresses. I have added favorites to my wishlist yet now when I open the app, my wishlist is empty, despite being logged in. Both of these are features that I would expect to work in any app. Please fix these as they have been broken for months. ### 2/5 — Checkout doesn’t work *2024-02-16, version 15.3.5* It’s easier to browse the teas on the app but the items in the shopping cart tend to appear and disappear during checkout. If you go back twice it will double the amount in your cart. If you get to the point where you can submit the payment it just kind of hangs then returns to the cart page. I ended up going to the website and placing the order there. ### 1/5 — Great tea, horrible app *2024-02-13, version 15.3.5* Can I give it zero stars? I think this may be the worst app I use, or in this case, attempt to use. Just placed an order a few hours ago, and needed to use the app to take advantage of a 20% discount which was only available by using the app. I would usually go to the website to place orders so I didn’t have to be tortured by this app, but the discount was only good for app placed orders. It took me about 30 minutes to place my order, because this disgusting app would freeze, reboot, screen would go black, etc. Finally I was able to checkout. The discount was to be applied automatically at checkout, but after having to go through all that torture, nothing was applied. I had to call Harney Customer Service to request they apply it to my order. While I was at it, I suggested they get another developer to do their app. This app makes them look bad. They should just shut it down until someone does it right. Customers can always use the website in the meantime. BTW, their tea is great. ### 2/5 — Info I want not accessible *2023-11-27, version 15.3.0* So frustrating, Trying to see when my next subscription shipment is but info cut off in my app account & can’t access it. It has happened with other info as well over the year. Please fix your bugs! ### 2/5 — App Terrible, Tea Great *2023-11-21, version 15.3.0* This review is only about the app. The latest update on the app has made it unusable. My wishlist that I’ve spent a long time curating was completely emptied. I have to sign on every couple of openings of the app. After using the search function, it would show me my results but not let me click on a single thing. When looking at a list of teas and scrolling down, it would reload the entire list, put me up at the beginning of the list, and again everything became unclickable. And as always, redeeming rewards is such a hassle. ### 3/5 — Where did tea reviews go? *2023-09-28, version 15.2* I love your tea, and when deciding whether to try a new one, I often look for reviews to see what other people say about it. However, reviews are no longer available, which is a little frustrating. Additionally, I miss all the information that used to be included for all the teas. Now it’s just a basic description, which can make it somewhat difficult to buy something like tea online. Would have given it 3.5 stars. But now it won’t load product pages when I click on items in search lists to learn more and select a size to order. As soon as I got through the login process, all I get is this loop of “logged in successfully” pop up followed by a white screen followed by a BLIP of the main menu then back to the “logged in successfully” pop up. ### 1/5 — Great Tea House, Awful App. Stick to tea. *2025-03-23, version 15.5.6* What a terribly frustrating experience. I order from Harney & Sons all the time, and thought I’d try the app, boy was that a mistake. It requires a password. The Harney & Sons website does not. Nor is there an option to add or change a password. In the app there’s a link that says “Forgot password?” And when clicked it sends an email to reset the password, except if you click it on the phone it takes you to the app - which requires a password. If you click it on the desktop website it takes you to the Harney & Sons website - which is already logged on. There’s no way to create or edit a password. It’s no wonder this app only has a few downloads and the last positive review was 6 years ago. Stick to tea, Harney.
