## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Lousy liquid po dose calc

*2025-01-05*

have to reference 3 different areas for ped dose calc for po liquids rather than 1 like other apps which provide “sliders” for best by disease, mg per kilo per day , max dose, and duration.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback about the Harriet Lane app. We appreciate your input and understand how important it is to have an efficient experience when calculating pediatric doses. Your suggestion to consolidate these features with sliders for disease, mg/kg/day, max dose, and duration is valuable, and we will certainly pass this along to our development team for consideration in future updates.

### 1/5 — Still not a finished product, buy the paper copy

*2021-10-08, version 1.16*

Tried to find normal for age glucose levels in reference value section. Says see chapter 10, with link provided. No values listed there, just discussion on diabetes.

Just tried to look up normal for age thyroid labs. All values for ages above 28 days are missing now.

I tried to call their number as they have requested, got voicemail.

### 1/5 — Do not buy!

*2017-11-22*

I totally agree with another reviewer. I bought the previous version for $60 and because the developer did not update this app I can no longer access the content. If I had purchased the book instead I would at least have access to the questions I look up the most! I will never purchase again from Unbound ever again.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. This Harriet Lane app is fully optimized to run on Apple's latest operating system, iOS 11. Older Harriet Lane apps, purchased before September of 2015 were affected by the update. If you purchased one of these older apps, we encourage you to contact customer support as we are confident we can find a workable solution.

### 1/5 — Can’t open

*2017-10-14*

I bought this app 2 years ago and they haven’t updated it so it won’t open after the IOS 11 update. I think they want us to shell out another $60.

### 1/5 — DO NOT USE UNBOUND, DO NOT BUY

*2017-10-11*

I have had many of their products in last few years at about 60 an app. iOS 11 comes along and they are the ONLY app publisher that didn’t update their product to work in iOS 11. Their solution - rebuy every app to the updated iOS app. I bought the standalone non subscription app to prevent downstream costs with a huge upfront cost. Egg on my face huh.

Unbound had 2 years to update all their apps but chose to gouge their customer base!

### 1/5 — Un confidence

*2014-07-18*

My experience with this company is not the best. It is again a problem opening the content. The slogan "confidence at your fingertips" has become untruth. Having access to medical information in reliable fashion is fundamental for the professional. As a physician, not being able to open the content consistently is frustrating. 2 weeks after the purchase, I am not able to open the content and look up a drugs in the formulary or open a chapter. Nothing opens. I had the same problem wit a different app in the past. I thought it was bad luck. The recurrence makes the "un confidence at my fingertips" slogan more realistic. Sad but true

### 2/5 — Still lacking

*2023-04-01*

I tried to look up normal sodium levels for neonates. It has none listed for under 3 years of age. The book printed book does though.

**Developer response:** Thank you for reaching out to us. We are unable to locate your account in our records to verify the edition you are referencing. The content in the resource comes directly from the publisher. We'd be happy to look into this matter further with additional account details and reference to the book. Please email our support team at support@unboundmedicine.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

### 2/5 — Not great

*2012-10-08*

The information is good, obviously, but the app itself is put together poorly.
It is very poorly formatted on the iPhone, with tables and figures being difficult to read. Search functionality is awful, basically only works for specific names of figures and entire chapters, not topics within each chapter. Too much money given the poorly formatted app. And of course, doesn't fit the entire screen on the iPhone 5.

### 3/5 — Good content, bad outdated design

*2015-01-24*

The app cost 55$, I have to have high expectations for the price. The contents of the book are good and handful for review. the search function is nice although it can be better. Now about what needs so much improvements. The resolution just fuzzy and ugly on my iPhone 6 plus (which unacceptable for such high price). The content orientation on the screen is bizarre, especially when a table appears, you scroll right and left on empty spaces just because a table filling in the middle.
For the price I expect high level design and ease of use, which already free apps like medscape already provide. In Summary, good book, lousy app design.

### 4/5 — Useful when accessible

*2015-11-19*

Sometimes inaccessible with no wifi but very useful resource

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Pediatric dosage calculator

*2022-01-14*

In the past Harriet Lane provided a pediatrics dosage calculator for each drug. This application does not, which is disappointing.

**Developer response:** We value your feedback and appreciate you reaching out to us. We'll be sure to share this information with our team for review and potentially incorporate in the future.

### 5/5 — Comes in handy…

*2021-12-12*

Hospital Pharmacist for over 30 years, have been using Harriet Lane all this time.
This is my go to reference for checking drug doses for kids. Handy to have on my phone.

**Developer response:** We value your business over the years and appreciate you sharing your positive review. Even more, we love hearing that our app helps you do such vital work helping children get the care they need. Thank you again.

### 5/5 — The best!

*2020-12-12*

### 5/5 — Harriet

*2020-11-05*

Excellent! I use ir every day! Great source of information. And so handy to have it on your phone!

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2020-09-23*

Use daily. Love the ability to save favorites and search. Formulary and expanded drug search great addition. Indec is still not complete and would love more search power for simpler terms that are not already indexed or on table of contents. Overall thougb improvement on last two apps and invaluable day to day

**Developer response:** We appreciate your use of the application, and your suggestions. We continually work to include new content and create new features to make the application both more useful and easier to use. You may see your comments implemented as future updates to the app's content or function.
