First, it constantly lags — screens freeze, and it's especially annoying during moments when you have to do a mini-game between stars. Because of this, it's impossible to use the unlimited lives boost you purchase for a limited time, since you lose so much time just waiting for the game to stop stuttering. Second, progress doesn't save — for example, I reached 3 out of 5 stars on a task, ran out of energy, exited the game, and came back an hour later to find only one star, or something like that. So you end up losing progress for no reason, which is especially painful during time-limited tasks. Third, I still have 2 adventures from the Hogwarts era that I've never completed, and I can't finish them — they never show up randomly, and they haven't for years, and there's no way to select them in the Memory Book. Fourth, my phone (and I have an iPhone 17) gets so hot that it literally burns my hands. And finally, the number of pop-up screens is starting to get really irritating. Especially if, for example, you've bought unlimited lives for a limited time — by the time you close all of them, your time is already up, and that's it. It feels like you didn't optimize the game at all, and now it just doesn't work properly. The gaming experience is simply unbearable right now — I don't even feel like playing anymore. Every time I open the game, it's torture. And I love this game — I even buy some boosts, energy, and so on. I especially love the creatures! But, that is the main complaint.. Don’t get me wrong I love all of them, it’s just that I always wonder why they cost books and not coins? Why not use the books for events? I have a but-load of coins and I need to spend them. (I find clothes unnecessary). So my main thing here is that I want the creatures /pets to cost COINS not books. I think it would make the gameplay a little more fun no offense. Other than that one complaint I am in love w/ this game. Pls write back, if not just add in what I said. It’s so fun cause you can design your character, make friends, and go on adventures. But the really annoying thing is that you have to have loads of energy to do a quest or lesson and you either have to pay a ridiculous amount of money or gems for more or wait for 2 hours. PLEASE REMOVE THE ENERGY ITS SO FRUSTRATING! Or at least make it easier to get more, or have less quests that need loads. Apart from that, I totally recommend this game for all Harry Potter fans, I honestly feel like I’m at Hogwarts! Something else that would make the game a whole lot better would be if all those lessons in between the main storyline chapters were fewer, like just to do the lessons without study sessions beforehand. Also, the questions in lessons are super easy…it would be fun if they were actually challenging. It seems like that is enough to do some events completely based on what you are doing. I can complete a full 1 hour chapter quest with energy left over, yet a 1 hour side quest such as the Sphinx Club’s “A View To The Heavens” takes all 51 energy and still needs more. Seems to have a very uneven energy to energy required ratio. Really takes away from the game when you can’t complete a full quest line with the energy provided in the allotted time. ### 4/5 — Great *2026-08-20, version 7.2.6* For a Harry Potter fan this is amazing ### 2/5 — Useless Customer Service *2026-08-19, version 7.2.6* Ignore all the responses in these reviews saying to contact customer support if you have technical issues. All customer support does is send canned responses recommending you do what you have already tried. I don’t think they actually read what players write. Now I am unable to even load the game. I have enjoyed the game. I’ve played almost every day since December 2019. I was working on the latest chapter release. There have been innumerable bugs but historically they have been resolved in a day or two. However, I haven’t been able to load the game since last Friday. I have spent considerable time and effort to get the app loaded. Jam City Support just sent one basically canned response in 5 days. I guess I have no choice but to move on. If you are willing to risk all the time, enjoy the game. It is fun. Just realize, if there are any issues Support is superficial so you may not be able to complete the game. Update: The Jam City response is exactly what I expected. Basically canned and superficial. The link recommended goes to the exact same place I already entered a Help request. It took almost 5 days to receive the canned response to my original request. I responded within a couple of hours. It has been more than 48 hours with no response to my follow up. Jam City has personnel to respond to Apple App reviews within a couple of hours. If they were serious about actually helping players, they would similarly respond to help requests. Update 2: After a week, Jam City “applied a manual fix” that allowed me to access the game. The long timeframe meant I was unable to finish challenges, like the Diary, Daily Stamps, etc., and I had to spend a week upgrading my friends and dating levels but I wanted to update the review because the main issue was fixed. The game is still more glitchy than ever - closing unexpectedly or not saving progress. At least I can play. ### 3/5 — Like the game but so buggy now *2026-08-19, version 7.2.6* I really like this game but lately it has become very slow and lags constantly so it takes way longer to play than it should. You press to spend energy during a task and then have to wait several seconds for the graphics to do their thing before you can tap again. You feed your pets and it takes up to a minute for the screen to clear after you collect your rewards. And I have a newer device so it’s not my phone. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling to clear the cache which works for a day or two before it’s all slow again. Also the constant pop ups for various events every time you change locations is so annoying. When I first log in, I have to clear up to seven notifications for various events or sales or whatever before you even get to play anything. And then I have to do it again when I change to a new location and again and again. As many of the reviews say, however, the energy bar is a huge downfall of the game. I recently redownloaded this app after deleting it and I now remember why that was. With the energy being so little and taking so long to refill, you barely get to enjoy the game for what it is. Especially as most of the tasks require energy to complete. This is particularly true for timed events.
