### 3/5 — Good reading lists but otherwise too woke

*2026-07-12*

Some content is good but it is all too far and few in between, some good articles on AI and strategy but there’s just too much talk about leadership which I find very woo-woo.

### 3/5 — Decent but Lack Important Feature

*2026-07-05*

You can’t highlight text. I like to highlight things with my Apple Pencil but I can’t here. We pay for the service, please make basic features, like highlighting, available. Thanks.

### 3/5 — Great Content but Font Size?!

*2025-12-05*

I appreciate the ability to read and listen to the HBR content but am constantly fighting to read the text and eventually just read it on my computer defeating the purpose of the app. Would love if the font size could be changed. Thanks.

**Developer response:** Hi Pwnk1912, we apologize for the lack of reading accessibility. As long as you're one of the latest versions, you can adjust the text size for articles via Profile > Display Settings > Article Text Size. Hope that helps!

### 4/5 — Good, but!

*2025-10-26, version 35.1.0*

Overall good but lacks font size customization. Hope it can be added so don’t have to read articles in browsers. Currently not using the App.

### 2/5 — Font size?

*2025-10-17, version 35.0.0*

Adjustable font size please. Current font is nigh unreadable

### 4/5 — Suggestion

*2025-09-23, version 34.8.0*

I really love the app! I would just add a highlight feature. If I want to re read an article is easier if most important point are pointed out.

### 2/5 — Fail to login

*2025-08-23, version 34.7.0*

Cannot login

### 3/5 — Offline reading

*2025-07-22, version 34.5.0*

Hello! Is it available to download the articles and to have access offline?

### 4/5 — Idioma

*2025-05-11, version 34.0.0*

Idioma español

### 3/5 — Where is the translations?

*2025-04-29*

Why in the website i can translate with one click and in the app it is Not possible? :(

### 3/5 — Saved articles cannot be accessed offline

*2025-04-22, version 33.4.0*

I cannot access saved articles while i am on board a plane ! Please fix this !

### 2/5 — Love the app, but I struggle with the small font size

*2025-04-08, version 33.4.0*

I have poor vision and struggle to enjoy the publisher's excellent content because the article's font size is small and not adjustable. Please enable font size changes for both article titles and the body text.

### 3/5 — Please add an option for offline download

*2025-03-31*

Why is there still no option to read articles offline? Even clicking “save” does not store them for reading offline.

**Developer response:** Sorry about the hassle! Offline content is now possible with version 35.0.0. Update your app to access this new feature.

### 2/5 — Add issues section back in the app

*2025-02-11*

Please add the issues section back in the app. I love seeing the covers instead of Adi’s face all the time (no offense) and browsing content based on the current and past issues. I understand wanting to provide a stream of new content and personalized content based on usage, but please provide a practical way to navigate and consume issues like on the website.

**Developer response:** Hi adegollado - we're excited to share that back issues should now be available in the app. Please make sure your app is on the latest version. If you come across any issues please reach out to our support team at customercare@hbr.org.

### 1/5 — Quality Content, Poor App

*2024-12-12, version 32.0.0*

How are we at the end of 2024, and there is still not a way to consume the content through the app in magazine form? The published version found in bookstores is the superior way to read HBR. The developer has stated for years that this feature is in beta, and that it should be rolled out soon. As if they were developing software for NASA. Please implement this basic feature for paying customers.

### 1/5 — Not compatible with Vision Pro

*2024-12-04*

Title says it all.

### 1/5 — Can’t read offline and can’t read old issues

*2024-11-25*

The old app used to allow you to read old issues and read them offline. Now all of that is missing which makes it useless for reading on planes or without connecting

**Developer response:** Good news—offline downloads are now supported in version 35.0.0. Update your app to try it out!

Hi lakid2024 - we apologize for any inconvenience. As we work towards providing offline support, we're excited to share that back issues should now be available in the app! Please make sure your app is on the latest version. If you come across any issues please reach out to our support team at customercare@hbr.org.

### 1/5 — No offline, no magazine view

*2024-10-20, version 31.3.1*

Utterly useless if you have a magazine subscription and would like to use it. difficult to navigate, can’t find old version and no offline capability.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — HBR executive

*2025-09-15, version 34.8.0*

This app is not loading HBR Executive content. When you click a link in the masterclass email. The link redirects to opening the application. But application either says failed to load content or asks me to get executive subscription.

### 1/5 — Step backwards

*2025-09-13, version 34.8.0*

Getting ready for a long flight and it appears I cannot download full magazines anymore….

### 1/5 — Mobile Experience is not what it should be

*2025-08-31, version 34.7.1*

How is the font size not adjustable? Trying to read these articles on an iPad is not a pleasant experience. Please look at apps that the Economist that provide a much better reading experience.

### 1/5 — Margins and Fonts

*2025-07-13, version 34.4.0*

How in 2025 do you have an app you are supposed to read that does not allow you to adjust the font?
I thought this was an App Store requirement/

### 1/5 — No offline version or way to save articles

*2025-06-19, version 34.3.0*

Previous version of the app had a download option. Doesn’t exist in this most recent version. Guess I’ll have to lug around the paper copy of the magazine to read on airplanes.

### 1/5 — Can’t Download the Magazine for my flight

*2025-04-11, version 33.4.0*

I have reached out to customer service, and after a week I received a response, but they didn’t answer my question about how I can download the magazine for a flight.

### 1/5 — 2025 and can’t download

*2025-02-22, version 33.1.0*

Here it is 2025 and can’t download magazine issues or specific articles in preparation for a long flight. Completely disappointing.

### 1/5 — Terrible terrible UI

*2025-02-05*

I think this ui is terrible.. why can’t I adjust the font size? Why won’t it at least use the default font size of the phone? That is fundamentally basic….

Why is there summaries but no read aloud function like the competitors? Economist, globe and mail, etc all have these feature.

I feel like HBR, with everything they peddle about innovation and creativity, could try a little harder with their app... as opposed something that appears slapstick and from the bottom of the barrel..

**Developer response:** Hi ugyhjay88, we apologize for the lack of reading accessibility. As long as you're one of the latest versions, you can now adjust the text size for articles via Profile > Display Settings > Article Text Size. Alternatively, iOS now supports per-app text settings via Settings > Accessibility > Per-App Settings. Hope that helps!

### 1/5 — not available on VisionPro

*2025-01-09*

There is neither a dedicated App for Vision Pro and the iPad app is not made available intentionally.
There is no way to read content offline while travelling.

### 1/5 — Not useful

*2024-12-14, version 32.0.0*

For my use this app is inferior to web or printed edition. It does not allow picking a specific magazine issue and browsing through it, resuming an article (you can flag it but that is not the same as a bookmark). Also, it cannot display articles as printed (e.g. in PDF) that I particularly like about the magazine.

### 5/5 — Requesting Badge Icons

*2026-05-11*

Hi team, I love the apps, because there is no notification or badge icon. I sometimes missed out key articles as they come as notification my screen with others app’s notification. Any plans to introduce badge icons so that I know new articles/feature articles ? Thanks

### 5/5 — New app is so much better!!

*2024-03-27*

The new version of the app. Is the experience I was hoping for when I first signed up with HBR.

I was just using the website on my phone because the app was horrible.

Not anymore! So thrilled to finally have an app that is worthy of the fantastic content HBR has to offer.

**Developer response:** Thank you Palmerjr for the positive review. We are looking to make even more improvements this year so please stay tuned!
