We recently started using a similar time tracking function in Quickbooks and cancelled our Harvest account on the same day the monthly charge was due. Harvest billed our credit card and will not offer a refund of the monthly fee. OK, no big deal, but this is not the way to treat a longstanding customer. ### 2/5 — Frustrating *2026-07-01, version 5.1.19* Really bad if you don’t have consistent network connection. Woke up to over a $1900 charge on my debit card without my authorization. Harvest assumed that their new upgraded, yearly subscription would be great for my SMALL business with a single user-me! . I don’t even make $20,000 a year and they stole $1900 out of my account! Luckily they refunded it but I had to cancel my debit card. Even then they said that my finances are actually tied to my bank account and not my debit card. DISGUSTING!! Now I tried to downgrade to the free plan and they won’t even let me alter my active projects to fit the parameters of a free plan until I pay! I hate the new features and new subscription model. There’s no 24 hour live chat at all. They steal your money and limit the mobile app so you can’t even make changes. You have to use a web browser. I will be canceling all Harvest services. I build my own agents now for most of my work flows and the only reason I haven’t done it for Harvest is because it does the basics and it doesn’t cost that much a month. All the AI nonsense is getting to the point where I will take the time and build my own tracking agent and cut harvest out of my monthly spend. ### 1/5 — Overpriced rip off *2026-08-16, version 5.1.19* Was a great simple app for time tracking that I used for many years but they increased the cost by 10x in August 2026, making it more than $200 per month for me. This company just raised our rate from just over $1200 a year to $30,000. Everybody we referred has also received this notice and is scrambling to find a replacement. There are several good options. It’s fairly intuitive and user friendly with a clean layout however the recent price increase is ridiculous (100% increase!) and so I’m definitely changing to another provider. The price hikes don’t seem to signal an increase in quality as the Mac app no longer works so I’m forced to track using the phone app. A real bummer when it comes to productivity. ### 1/5 — Horrible Pricing Model *2026-07-11, version 5.1.19* Was very disappointed to discover that the cost for the app went from $16/month to a crazy high amount with no warning. Will be moving to another app. ### 1/5 — Unethical Hidden Costs *2026-07-06, version 5.1.19* Harvest was bought out by Bending Spoons and last month we received a bill that jumped from $33 to $153 a month. Others have received surprise bills for thousands of dollars all because Harvest changed the pricing on the platform and didn’t notify their customers effectively. I got an email the day before they charged my card, not leaving enough time to react. Had to spend weeks trying to get a refund on what is a very unethical hidden usage charge structure. The information is not on the pricing page of their website, which it should be. We did weeks of research and even hired an independent IT specialist to review the pricing and this was not visible anywhere. Harvest needs to offer clear information on pricing. It’s a shame because the app itself was well designed and worked well (thanks to the original developers). However, suddenly charging for every single project, client and task racks up hundreds of dollars of “flex billing” usage costs that are not clearly explained. Relieved we did not sign up for the annual subscription or we would be stuck. Canceling our subscription today. I like the ability to add expense receipts. The interface is easy and has everything I need for time tracking and beautiful invoicing. The desktop tool is solidly built, feature packed, and has personality without being cutesy with fun quotes about time built into the interface. The reporting is amazing and so easy to use. Project setup allows for a huge variety of customizations and option settings. The app works seamlessly with the online tool - so much so that I can start a timer for a call while I'm at my desk, get in my car and finish the call, then click the stop button whenever the call is over. Reporting functions are lacking in the app, but as I don't have to run reports on mobile, this isn't a big deal. As a freelance consultant with multiple clients, and working Mom, I couldn't be nearly as professional or organized with out this tool. I've also used the tool in a team setting - where clear visibility into hours spent by person, task, and client are extremely helpful to staying within time limits and getting work done. I can't tell you how the help desk support is, because I've never once had to call them. The tool works all the time and is simple to figure out. HIGHLY recommend you check it out.
