For example, I can only set one master “cue to unwind”, but my schedule is genuinely different during weeknights and weekends. I don’t know why we can’t set different cue times for different days, it’s quite frustrating when I want my routine to vary by just an hour each night without wasting electricity on the weekends. Also, there seems to be no way for me to enter “cue to unwind” manually or set the color-changing lights. It’s a good app/alarm clock but the functionality is really lacking :/ ### 2/5 — Shows too many sounds what we cannot play *2026-08-20, version 6.32.0* The app is good, but I strongly dislike the user interface of the app because I have to click so many times to be able to play some sounds. As an iOS developer it’s a pain to use the app. For example, enter the home screen, click a category of sounds (alarm or sleep), scroll and click a sound I like, in that sound page I click play. If I want a different sound, there’s no back button to go back to the list of sounds. It should be simple for me to listen to what a “brown noise” sounds like to a “laundry dryer noise” to compare which sleep sound I wanna play. I suggest Hatch to make the app flow again. Consider playing preview of a sound on the list of sounds. Instead of needing tho to list of sounds -> picked sound -> play page. ### 3/5 — App sucks *2026-08-19, version 6.32.0* I love having the light come on automatically so my kids know when it's morning and they can get up. But the app is absolutely horrible. No matter what it will not connect to my product. It will randomly work for a couple of days then decide to disconnect again. I’ve moved WiFi routers, deleted, logged out, and updated the app. This has been an ongoing issue for months. It’s one thing if you can change the alarm time on the device itself, but forget it, you have to use the app that never works. I bought this for nursing school which starts in August and can’t even set my alarm for school. Genuinely this app and product has become the most frustrating thing and I can’t bring myself to toss it because of the price. So I will keep holding onto hope something gets fixed. Thank you! ### 2/5 — Adult hatch ($$$) lacks features of baby hatch ($) *2026-08-15, version 6.31.1* It’s frustrating that the adult hatch lacks the ability to schedule on sleep sounds, which the baby hatch can do. Adult hatch can only schedule wind down cues, but you have to press the button for your sleep sounds. The app is way more complicated than it needs to be, and basic features are missing. Simply adding the same sleep sound scheduling would bring my review to at least 4 stars, maybe 5. ### 4/5 — Brick *2026-08-15, version 6.31.1* Hatch switched to a subscription plan and essentially bricked our device. Can’t play anything via the app or the touch ring. For families with toddlers who don't need sleep coaching or an AI chat, “Hatch+” means you're essentially paying a premium for maybe 10 songs on repeat. I'd happily pay more for an actual library of quality instrumental music — and if licensing costs are the barrier, it might be worth reconsidering where the development budget is going. More music, fewer features I didn't ask for. For anyone with a good sleeper or a toddler/older child, just get the $20 sound machine from Amazon. Once it loads you must make your changes immediately without switching to another app because if you switch apps and go back IT DOESNT WORK. You have to close the app and reopen. Every. Single. Time. My other gripe is..why can’t I delete old devices?? I was a nanny for several families and I CANNOT delete their devices. I emailed about it 5 years ago and was told I have to send the MAC address so they could go in and delete it for me. WHY??? It’s 2026. Why can’t I delete myself yet?? Overall not well maintained app and it needs a major overhaul. It is way past due. I bought a second one for my son it was so great, but now my Hatch sleep sound isn’t playing in the routine that I have set up less than a month after getting it. I’m so disappointed and I don’t know how to fix it! I’ve also been woken up on several occasions from it going from rain sounds to suddenly making a buzzing sound like a defective machine. The alarm clock for this app is already WAY too expensive for just an alarm clock, and then they still want you to pay them MORE money because they made a subscription for this app as well. I can’t understand how this would actually be successful in any way! If you want more money, how about you make your alarm clocks cheaper so more people will buy them? There is no reason why an alarm clock should be this expensive. I mean, come on…. EVERYONE wants to wake up and feel refreshed. And you are just using that to your advantage! This shouldn’t exist! And if you want to buy this alarm clock BECAUSE it’s expensive, let me just tell you that nobody cares if your alarm clock is a “luxury” brand… they just want to wake up! And quit with the subscriptions as well, there’s way too many of them on every single app nowadays… i prefer one-time purchases, but not something very expensive…. My final statement is that there are similar products on Amazon for about a third of the price of this one, even though I still don’t know why it’s that expensive. Bye. Audio and Lighting. I want a 60 min Audio and Music Soundscape for reading, Lounge type lighting and sound. Go! Example 2: “Arch, set a week days alarm for 7am. Start at 6:30am with rising sun lighting. The app is good, however, 1. it is very slow to load. This has nothing to do with our internet speed. 2. The days of the week functionality is incorrect. I have a setting for the light and sound to stop every weekday at 7am. However, the light and sound stop Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It does not shut off on Monday as it needs to. 3. When a Program is manually inactivated with the slider at 6:40am so that the light/sound don’t stop at 7am, the Program is somehow still active and shuts off light/sound. This is not user error, I’m 100% sure as I’ve been testing this issue for several weekends. 4. Can we have brown noise? Devs, please correct these issues. Every single night when I try to adjust the sound level on our Hatch, it won’t stay on the number I select. For example tonight I tried to turn it down from 30 to 20. It got stuck on 24 and every time I clicked to a lower number, it would just immediately jump back up to 24. It has happened every night for about 6 months at least. It’s making me crazy.
