## What is Haute Gitanerie?

Haute Gitanerie is a free, interactive toolkit for learning gypsy jazz (jazz manouche) on the guitar.

• Arpeggios & chord voicings you can actually SEE on the neck — box & diagonal shapes, positions, note names.
• Tune grilles for the standards, with an interactive player: play along, loop any section, transpose to any key, tempo control.
• A curated directory of the gypsy-jazz community — players, teachers, resources.

Built solo by an engineer learning gypsy jazz himself — no paywall, no ads, a gift to the scene.

Still growing, and your feedback shapes what comes next.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 2.0.1 — 2026-10-06

Fixed some navigation bugs.
Fixed a bug in arpeggios page: it was playing 3 times the same notes and a user could not stop the player.

### 2.0 — 2026-10-03

New in 2.0: recorded la pompe backing tracks, a cleaner mobile home, and polish throughout. Free, no ads, built with the manouche community.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-03

Thanks for playing with Haute Gitanerie! This update adds:

- About tab for tunes: each standard now tells its story — who wrote it, where it sits in gypsy jazz, and how to approach the changes.
- Easier practice loops: drag across the bars to set a loop in one gesture.
- Lick versions: keep the different takes of a phrase you're working on, each with a note on what changed, and revisit how it evolved.
- Clearer lick sharing (private vs. published).
- Many fixes and polish across the fretboard, tunes, and playback — plus a reminder on iPhone if the silent switch is muting the sound.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-25
