Why not spend some money to find a more professional company to make a decent program? Still had to call it in. Poorly structured app. ### 1/5 — Poor User Design *2022-09-03, version 1.163* HECO should invest in spending some time identifying the different types of persona’s - bill pay, outage reporting, billing history. I abhor using apps that leave the customer stuck with no way back - for example billing history - once you see your bill, there no way to navigate back to the previous 12 bills. Did I mention it’s slow, but then again it is island time appropriate. ### 1/5 — Unbelievably poor app *2022-06-15, version 1.163* What a shame that a company that provides such good and important service to the community cannot develop an app that is user friendly. I just spent 45 minutes trying to find out and pay my bill - and when I click on the pay your bill link it just keeps sending me back to the online registration page. After doing this several times I gave up. There’s a reason it doesn’t have but 2 1/2 stars. I just moved back to Hawaii from Arkansas and HELCO could learn a lot by seeing how Entergy created their app. Entergy’s app works easily. HELCO’s app does not. It’s almost like the developers at HELCO have not tested their own app. ### 1/5 — Unable to print or save bill using app *2022-05-12, version 1.163* Because the website’s customer service login portal is currently nonfunctional, I decided to use the app. I was able to login and see my bill but it does not allow for printing or saving to files (my preference). Then after many attempts, I can finally view my electric bill. But also, it is suuuuper slow and lagging almost always. The worst!!! I got the app to pay my bill from the app and it doesn’t allow you to. I guess the only other options of payment is online with a third party but for a commercial business they charge a $45 processing fee but If you’re residential it’s $3?? Make it make sense! It’s the same electric we’re using. So now I have to go and pay in person bc it seems like that’s the only option to save me from paying that scam of $45. Wish I could give no stars. What a waste of time and money! Get it together HECO, it’s about to be 2025. There is no in-app functionality to report outages. However the payment system is still kind of funky regardless of operating system ### 3/5 — Login issues *2018-08-11, version 1.10* I love being able to see my bill and be able to pay it on my phone. I just get really annoyed at the fact that if you press the back arrow it’ll make you re-login to your account. I just tried to do something with autopay and had to log in 5 different times. Wish it came with a finger print authorization or even just a remember me option. Its my phone, and my account so it’d be nice if it just kept me logged in all the time or at least only ask for my login info once every 20-30 minutes. ### 2/5 — Outage Map FAIL *2024-07-31, version 1.170* Most of the time the outage doesn’t match the online version.
