Pay to use app

I understand offering premium services for cost but to use the app at all is simply greedy. It used to be five minutes daily now it’s none at all. This is a language learning app and there’s tons out there. This is not a necessity and is completely optional. I will be opting out of using it anymore.

Awesome app

Helped me a lot easier to use than Duolingo actually

Great for immersion

App has made YouTube videos way more accessible for language learners, allowing you to listen to natural Japanese with easy lookups. The app is not perfect and the subtitle transcription makes mistakes but for an intermediate-advanced learner this app is a god send.

No freemium

Honestly I think new companies need to consider where consumers are at a certain point. Right now there are more and more services asking for $50-$100 subscriptions for a yearly basis and it simply isn’t sustainable to have every company do this. I’m not saying companies have to provide every feature for free but adding a couple creates a larger market. You have more users, and most likely more individuals willing to recommend and use the product. I just think this new trend is annoying, especially when apps and websites aren’t clear that they aren’t free until you finish making the account.
