I would not use any app often enough to consider a subscription based app. 
When most editing is done on a computer I cannot see how any developer can justify subscription based app for an iPad or iPhone.   Just appears to be greed 
Sorry but I don’t mind paying for a good app but no matter how good a app is I will not use any subscription based app.
