Counterfeit boxes are not the problem. The problem is that people return their fake cables in real boxes, which then get resold. Why is there no printed serial number on the cable matching the one on the box? Or a QR code on a cord tag? There needs to be alternate options like typing in the said cables info to see if it is or not if it doesnt have the code. It's a disaster for the consumer in that this app wants to know everything about you and it's going to share that knowledge with everybody in the whole world. By the whole world I mean Google. I immediately deleted this app and would never agree to accepting any privacy policy like this one. ### 2/5 — Cannot report *2022-02-13* Reporting incident results in “unexpected error.” ### 5/5 — HDMI App *2023-11-11, version 7.5.2* Seemed to work immediately after tilting iPhone camera as instructed. Gave correct manufacturer, cable type and length. As good as you can get for the job it is meant to do, on the face of it. ### 5/5 — Works as designed. *2022-12-28* This app lets you scan the HDMI verification sticker to ensure you received a certified cable from a certified manufacturer. If your cable did not come with a sticker to scan, then it’s not certified. It’s as simple as that. This app is not supposed to provide more information than what you find on the box of the cable. That’s not what this is for. ### 5/5 — Great app to have especially when trying to make sure you’re getting a genuine cable *2022-01-04* Easy to use. Let’s you know that the sticker on the package is authentic.
