### 5/5 — A Useful App That Works

*2012-11-07, version 3.0*

Having tried some similar apps which were poor or just didn't work, I took a chance on this one. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did exactly what it said it would and will be very useful in my production work.

I am running it on an iPad2 with no problems and it is very simple to use. There is a data entry page for the basic production info and takes, roll, scenes can all be set with numbers or characters. If the takes etc are all set numerically, they will automatically increment after each use of the clapper. You can also increment them manually by clicking on the main screen. Background can also be reversed if preferred. Sound can be a bleep or clap, both of which are clear.

The ext/int/day/night buttons can be clicked, but just change to a different shade of grey which can't really be seen on camera, so need to be changed by the developer to something more noticeable.

Altogether worthy of 5 stars in my opinion and worth the cost of the app as it actually works!

### 4/5 — Great tool...

Delivers, does exactly what is says it'll do! Really wish it would turn sideways though!!!

### 1/5 — New purchase

*2018-12-16, version 4.20*

Hello there. Please return my money. Your slate is Not working. I just bought it. My credit card is charged. But it not giving access to the app and keep telling that I have to buy it again. So please pay back my money.

### 1/5 — App needs updating.

*2015-03-26, version 3.2*

When trying to change the frame rate in the app settings you get a white screen without any keys, and therefore cannot change the frame rate off of the default number.
The only way to get out of this is to quit and close the app.

### 3/5 — Good

*2013-06-22, version 3.0*

I am a bit disappointed that I paid and the clapper quit clapping at 16 takes. We only had 16 takes because there is no option to put or see much of the information for scene or episode. For sake of getting through we have been using takes instead. Otherwise I am using it because its all I've got.

### 3/5 — Not Quite There

*2013-04-05, version 3.0*

The app works as intended but the dev has failed to provide the ability to use European date format which renders it useless if the editor isn't sure whether the take was shot on the 5th April or the 4th May. Basic stuff for any app on the international market.

And what's with the caps shift on permanent lock? Surely this is against Apple's rules and should be user selectable.

As already mentioned by another user, the ability to set the colours of the other settings would make them more visible.

Looking forward to these suggestions being incorporated in future updates!

### 3/5 — Pretty good

*2012-04-14, version 2.0*

It's a basic slate, pretty good.

### 4/5 — More features, we don’t care to pay

*2017-11-02*

Missing « RESET » timecode to any value... according to the needs. With manual ON/OFF.
Missing cameraman name .

Thanks

**Developer response:** DP field is there already but will add the manual on off for the time code running. Thnx

### 4/5 — Decent

*2012-08-19, version 2.6*

It's not bad but should have fps adjustment

### 4/5 — Best cheap slate

*2012-07-05, version 2.0*

I downloaded all the free slates I could find and this one was by far the best for under $5. I didn't try the expensive ones.

### 4/5 — Not iPad sized

*2012-03-21, version 2.0*

So this is a pretty straight forward app, nothing spectacular; but sounds and works better than the free slate apps out there. My only beef is that it's sized for the iPhone, not the iPad, which I didn't realize before buying. Hope the next update fixes that.

### 4/5 — Well done

*2011-10-01, version 1.22*

I'm learning how to use the zoom H4n and the canon 5D, and I was curious if slate apps were out there. I like the look of this one, and it's easy to use — I didn't even bother to read the instructions because it's pretty intuitive. Thank you for assisting this digital film newbie!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Solid app

*2019-04-22, version 5.02*

Simple to use and does what it says. Would definitively recommend. Keep it up guys!

### 5/5 — Simple and Effective Application

*2019-04-22, version 5.02*

There’s a brief virtual tour video giving you the lay of the land. The user Interface is streamlined. You can even email production notes as an extra feature.

### 5/5 — Awesome clap board!!

*2015-10-09, version 4.01*

This is an awesome clapboard app. I've tried a number of the other clapboard apps and they don't compare. The free ones out there are ugly and practically unusable and the more expensive ones are decent but too overpriced. This one bridges the gap. Inexpensive and professional quality. This ones a no brainer if you're looking for a digital clapboard.

### 5/5 — Great slate app!

*2015-10-09, version 4.01*

Useful app. Well worth the $5 upgrade to save all your productions. Great straightforward design.

### 5/5 — Perfect Slate app for iPhone & iPad

*2015-06-10, version 3.7*

We have used this app on multiple shoots. It's Awesome ! Able to customize the items to fill your needs. Easily sync multi-cam shoots. I even found a small glitch in the iPhone app and it was corrected pronto.
Fantastic customer service from the app support team.
Highly Recommend. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

### 5/5 — Killer App

*2014-04-02, version 3.0*

I love this app. Use it all the time!

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2013-11-25, version 3.0*

Simple to use, and it works. The reviewer who said it quit clapping probably did what I did, which was to click on the "MOS" button. The "Sync" button next to it has to be selected in order for the clapper to work.

### 5/5 — Does what it's supposed to do... And prettier!

*2013-10-19, version 3.0*

I like it even better now that it works horizontally. Certainly looks nicer than finger slates or bad handwriting with chalk...

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2013-07-15, version 3.0*

Just what i needed.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2013-01-03, version 3.0*

I wrongly assumed this app had a flaw. The developer was very very helpful and walked me through the settings which are simple. It works perfectly and represents excellent value for money.
