### 3/5 — Okay

*2025-07-10, version 1.1.2*

Decent game needs to ffa

### 4/5 — Best game ever but

*2022-02-22, version 1.1.2*

This is probably the best game I ever played in my life it has a gripping storyline but the full version is not free so I can’t play it and I would really appreciate it if you could make the whole game free. Thank you

### 2/5 — The best will a barrier

*2022-01-14, version 1.1.2*

I love playing this game and it is the best free mobile game I have ever played but when I got to the end of the free bit my heart sank.
I had enjoyed the game but I couldn’t play anymore because I am free to play and it was not

### 2/5 — One hand?

*2021-09-24, version 1.1.2*

The developer keeps saying you should play this with one hand. On what device? Not an iPad, not an iPhone pro max or even a pro device. Such a shame that the controls are not optimized for all devices, seemed like a cool game with beautiful graphics.

### 4/5 — Great start!

*2021-06-30, version 1.1.2*

So far, I've had an enjoyable experience with the game. However, moving around can be a bit difficult and awkward, which can take some getting used to. If the moving was a bit more fluid and easy, I would’ve bought the full game. As of now though, I’m still on the fence; but I’m considering it nonetheless. I also do appreciate the warning in the beginning before the game started that you’d have to pay later on to unlock the full version.

### 4/5 — Okay but controls are not great

*2021-05-10, version 1.1.2*

I wanted to like the game. The gameplay is pretty good in the free first part but as it stands I can’t justify paying £6 for the game.
The controls are just not good enough to make it enjoyable. You’re encouraged to play with one thumb but control of movement can be a bit imprecise and when it comes to attacking it feels like all you do is mash the screen and that gets tiring. I also had a bug at a boss level to get the shards back where I seems to get stuck in an endless wave upon wave of spear wielding figures without being able to kill them all or die. In the end I realised it was a bug and restarted the game. It was fine the next time.

### 3/5 — Keep it up

*2021-02-22*

Liked the graphics, movement and art... kinda gives the ocean horn vibe...
Did not like that it is not in landscape mode with a separate attack button & also as a player the game takes away my control of the character every 20-30 seconds of gameplay... I understand it is for story narration but game feels very segmented because of it... like I am thrown out of character...

### 2/5 — Not bad, but could be better

*2021-01-29*

The game is pretty good. I like the concept and everything except for these little things.
1. The controls on the game are so bad. It is very hard to move in a certain direction without moving to far or going in a different direction altogether
2. The game lags. Idk if it was something to do with my device but I doubt because it is new. But the game will freeze for like 20 seconds before going back to normal.
3. If it freezing wasn’t enough, it crashes as well. It has crashed multiple times when I have tried to play this game.
Other than all of those things, it is a good game. But, it could use a lot of improvement.

### 3/5 — Beautiful Game, Bad Movement

*2021-01-05, version 1.1.1*

The control of character is terrible. Seems this game could be so much more. Honestly the movement just makes you not want to play. Hope you guys find a new control scheme.

### 5/5 — Addictive and an ideal game

*2021-01-03, version 1.1.1*

I have purchased the game and i have been exploring. I found some discs. Apparently, there is an alchemy hut? Awesome!

### 5/5 — Super fun game, excellent pay model!

*2020-12-28*

Don’t listen to all these entitled brats that are complaining that the whole game was not free, I mean come on you little twits! The try before you buy model the developers have presented is perfect, and the game is super charming! The attention to detail is great and the developers are listening to the feedback and making things even better. I’ve made it to the final shard and the final battle is intense! I’d gladly pay more for such an immersive game. Good job Northplay!👍

### 5/5 — Wholesome and fun

*2020-12-26, version 1.1.1*

You can tell you poured love into this, it’s great fun. Currently playing it one handed on the 12 mini!

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2020-12-25*

Beautiful

### 5/5 — Freezing

*2020-12-24*

As much as I have enjoyed the few minutes of gameplay I got in, I can’t even finish the free 45-minutes because the game keeps freezing. The music will continue just fine, but nothing moves, even after waiting for a few minutes. I would love to finish the game, the paid 5+ hours included, but don’t want to pay for it if I can’t even progress to it, or finish it. Edit: Freezing has stopped, not sure of the cause, but develops were quick to reply to my email and I’ve been able to progress in the game

**Developer response:** Hi, we're sorry to hear that your game is freezing, this is the first report we've had of that happening. Could you give us a description of which part of the game freezes? We'd be very happy to fix it for you and allow you to play the rest of the game!

### 3/5 — More levels!

*2020-12-24, version 1.1.1*

My toddler accident my bought the game but I kept it.... would ha e been 5 stars but worth all these updates, why no new levels?!?!

### 5/5 — I’ve completed everything

*2020-12-23*

Great update, I lot of what I had not liked about the game before was fixed very quickly, thank you for the hard work northplay!

**Developer response:** Thank you for the great feedback, we are always open to hearing what people are saying about the game so that we can improve it. We've just released a new update with increased precision for movement and attack controls, we hope that you find it better to play with now!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — WONKY

*2021-08-08, version 1.1.2*

The absolute wonkiest game I’ve ever played

### 1/5 — Not free

*2021-02-11, version 1.1.2*

They should have to warn you before downloading that this is only a demo so you don’t waste time and data 🤬

### 1/5 — I hate limited play games

*2021-01-06, version 1.1.1*

I can’t tell you how infuriating it is when you download a “free” game and you are hit with “well, really you have to pay for it but because we suckered you into downloading it we will give putty time to play it”.

I know you think you just want people to experience it and that way they will be willing to pay the amount.

Just stop. I did not even play it as a result.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2020-12-28, version 1.1.1*

Scam scam scam it was not 45min its all a scam if you like the game it’s not good I can’t even get the one thing

### 1/5 — Bait and switch

*2020-12-23, version 1.1.1*

This game caught my interest with the art style and graphic. The trial was free but you didn’t know that until you waste the time to download and play the game. Then they ask you to pay them $8 because they put their heart and soul into it, but which game company doesn’t put their heart and soul into their game? I don’t appreciate the bait and switch motives from the dev team and it left a nasty taste in my mouth like what Apple did with the charger for their iPhone 12. I don’t want to get into it too deep but I think the dev team really messed up a good thing about this game. Instead of charging people to buy the game you guys should of created a gacha system for weapons and armour or characters with different skills.

### 1/5 — Game mechanics

*2020-12-22, version 1.1*

Very difficult to move the character around, one moment he’s running and the next he’s walking slowly

### 1/5 — Free-to-Play Bait

*2020-12-21, version 1.1*

This approach to selling your game is one of the most scummy approaches you can do, straight up. Just charge the actual price up front instead of baiting people into a “free game” just to charge them later.

Honestly not even going to try the game because of this, it’s the first sign of a bad approach to developing.

### 1/5 — It’s not free to play the whole game I want to play it all

*2020-12-18, version 1.0.3*

Do it please

### 1/5 — Ehhh $5.99 not worth it

*2020-12-16, version 1.0.3*

Not worth paying $5.99 for a game that has a story that feels rushed and pushed on you.. also the controls and camera feel a bit weird.

### 1/5 — Question about the reminder keys

*2020-12-16, version 1.0.3*

Does anybody know how to open the reminder gates are the golden gates and the purple gates because I already had open the turquoise gate so please help out if you know

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — $5.99 is more than fair for a 5 hour game.

*2025-12-26*

Not to be a jerk, but seeing complaints about the full game being 6 bucks is a bummer. If you enjoy the game but aren’t willing to come off six dollars to support indie development, then I’m sorry to say the price isn’t the issue here. The devs put their hearts into a product that’s well worth the price of admission. You guys did a great job.

### 5/5 — Keeping your word

*2024-11-13, version 1.1.2*

I want to thank you for keeping true to the old way of developing games, by offering the choice of a full version. I just purchased copy. Micropayments will never get a penny of my money and that’s mostly cause no longer are in Canadian circulation. Cheers fellas.

### 5/5 — coooool beans

*2023-12-20, version 1.1.2*

very cooool

### 5/5 — Amazing game, i have some feedback

*2022-09-24*

I love the whole idea of the game its amazing and so nice to see the world, but one thing i would like to see added is the border as someone who has a newer phone it can be annoying that the game is not completely taking up the whole screen, what i mean is there is black lines at the top and bottom it gives the game a old look like i should be playing it on a old phone. Besides that minor issue the game is amazing and so fun!

### 5/5 — Great game!!

*2021-10-31*

Great game and definitely worth the money. Reminds me a little bit of Zelda. The graphics are very pretty and the art is cute. My only very minor complaint would be the controls, which can be finicky when you need precision. All in all an excellent game that I will be recommending to friends.

### 5/5 — Thanks! Will happily purchase the full version!

*2021-09-09, version 1.1.2*

Hey guys! I’ve just played the first 45 mins and I really enjoyed the game so far. I am definitely purchasing the full version. Thanks for not making a crappy freemium/gatcha game like all the other games on the store. I really like playing a good game without ads and microtrasactions, and your game is fun and amazing! Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2021-02-20, version 1.1.2*

I played the intro and loved it!
I think the gameplay is smooth and there weren’t any glitches.
Awesome job guys! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!

### 5/5 — Fun game

*2021-02-20, version 1.1.2*

Enjoyed a lot, worth the money :))

### 5/5 — Oh I love the concept! ❤️

*2021-01-04*

The game has a lovely aesthetic and that is what I was looking for! Even though i didn’t pay for the game ( in my country is a bit expensive ) I’m waiting for more games like this! :)
Good job, Northplay 👏

### 5/5 — Unintentional fun

*2021-01-03*

I play through the free version and liked the game but I don’t like the controls and how the camera moves with it. I went to the in games store and after finding out that collision was on for some objects I spent maybe 30 minutes messing around. At one point even trying to get one of the gnomes in the apple bowl. I would love to see more games with collision on, it just so fun.
