Our coaching model Coaches provide support through real-time, text-based conversations in the app, so you can easily and privately chat with a coach anytime, anywhere. Coaches are available 24/7 for immediate in-the-moment care and via regularly scheduled sessions. We know texting isn’t easy for everyone, which is why we also offer a speech-to-text option. Coaches also help you get the right level of care and can connect you to a Headspace Care therapist or psychiatrist if you need extra support. About our mental health coaches Headspace Care coaches are trained professionals with an advanced degree and/or coaching certification. Headspace Care coaches have at least two years of professional work experience and undergo an additional 100+ hours of specialized training every year. Coaches are full-time employees of Headspace Care, and yes — they’re real people. Therapy and psychiatry When more support is needed, video-based sessions with a licensed therapist and/or psychiatrist are available, with evening and weekend hours. Talking to someone when you really need it, getting talked through hard times, having it all online so your schedule is still semi open to doing what you need to do.. I got back on this app today trying to seek help. The coach (not the lead) I had wasn’t helpful at all, just asked me if I had __ intentions, dug into that, and ended our chat. I can’t tell if the people I’m talking to are real, or AI and i’m a young adult! I’m going to book a psychiatrist appointment and see how that goes.. Overall, app CAN be good, very opinion based though, not factual. ### 1/5 — App is garbage *2026-03-25, version 6.61.0* I was this on app back when it was ginger but it’s total garbage now. Their AI bot is useless. Each time disappointing and realized why I cancelled after they took my money. I’ve been waiting for a week to receive my intake form to see a therapist. When you try to talk to a coach, they just repeat what you said and refer a bunch of useless URL links. Don’t waste your time and money. ### 5/5 — Great Help *2026-02-06, version 6.61.0* I found this through my healthcare. I had to go through a few people, but i think i've found my help. I was able to get a therapist through the app and will be able to get a psychatrist if needed. My preferences: I prefer telehealth and will go to an office if needed. So far, i like this help. I feel safe and validated. ### 1/5 — Not Helpful and Expensive *2026-01-12, version 6.61.0* $70 per month, with insurance, is one thing. But $125 cancellation fee if you have to cancel or reschedule within TWO DAYS of an appointment is truly ridiculous, especially when it’s a virtual appointment and was booked less than two days in advance. Plus they don’t actually tell you how much the cancellation fee is until after you’ve already cancelled. Super unethical. Not to mention that the coaching service is less helpful than an AI and their little articles/guides are full of meaningless platitudes. Will not be using again. ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-01-08, version 6.61.0* Be very careful with this service. I had it through my insurance so I decided to give it a try. The “coach” is AI and when you try to delete or deactivate your account they will not let you. I would not recommend this “service” to anyone. They started scheduling a bunch of appointments that I did not make and will not let me shut down the subscription. Care and customer service is unhelpful. ### 1/5 — Didn’t even get to talk with my coach after appointment was made. *2026-01-05, version 6.61.0* I made an appointment to speak to my lead coach for the first time two weeks prior to the meeting. I joined about ten minutes early, introduced myself and waited… waited my whole appointment and never heard from anyone. I even prompted them with a message about what was going on, and mentioned that I was new to the app in case I was doing something wrong. Now I can’t even make a new appointment or contact any real support.
