### 3/5 — Good app but unusable on 5G

*2026-08-25, version 8.29.0*

I want to use this app at work or where my stress is highest. This app is unusable for me off WiFi. It’s way over designed with cutesy Corporate Memphis graphics and HD videos of their coaches saying things like “You know, that is a great question” for minutes before giving 20 seconds of tips, that could have been done just as well with a much lighter audio file. On 5G it takes me forever to load content and then errors out anyway. It’s sad because the concept is good but I’m paying $12.99 a month and effectively getting nothing for it. Maybe add a data saver option?

### 3/5 — mission drift

*2026-08-24, version 8.28.0*

i’ve used this app (almost) daily for years and i’m disappointed in the direction the company is going. the longtime users of this app value it for it’s meditation and mindfulness focus. I don’t need or want a broader “health and wellness” app. i’ve subscribed for years, i’m looking around for a different option

### 3/5 — Horrible memory

*2026-08-15, version 8.27.1*

I am constantly having to remind the AI about key events… and certain things that circulate around what we’re discussing and it throws out random stuff from like weeks ago that does not pertain to the current situation. I’m trying to talk about or it just keeps asking what happened even though I explained everything again and again, so it’s hard to progress with something that doesn’t remember what you’ve already told

### 1/5 — This app is dumb

*2026-08-14, version 8.27.1*

I tried deleting my account because I just don’t want this app anymore it’s to much money and they won’t let me I have hardly used this app and I I don’t want it anymore but it won’t let me delete it what a stupid scam!!!! Do you better you money hungry idiots

### 1/5 — Do not pay for this app!!

*2026-08-13, version 8.27.1*

I paid for a 12 month subscription and even though I didn’t choose auto renewal it auto renewed and charged me $100 for another year. I have emailed them multiple times for a refund - but haven’t received a response. No app should be on auto renew - if it’s an app you use regularly, you would realise if the subscription ended.

### 2/5 — upsetting

*2026-08-13, version 8.27.1*

i used to love this app and just recently wanted to try it out again. everything is locked unless you pay. very very disappointing and upsetting

### 1/5 — AI Feature Cannot be Removed !

*2026-08-12, version 8.27.0*

I have used Headspace for years. The AI “Ebb” feature cannot be removed or toggled off. It is in the center of the navigation bar. This is a deal breaker. Do better.

### 1/5 — Scammy billing practices

*2026-08-12, version 8.27.0*

Terrible customer service from ai robots

### 1/5 — Hate the app, love the product

*2026-08-11, version 8.27.0*

The app is so unbearably slow and buggy that i use this less and i would like to. I paid for an annual subscription and I’m going to try to cancel or at the very least not renew.

My main issue is with downloaded meditations. They just don’t work consistently. The app sometimes opens offline and sometimes is doesn’t. The downloaded files open sometimes and then they stop working. Navigating the app is brutal it takes forever.

If i can’t use the product I paid for then that’s a 1-star review.

### 4/5 — Hate the horizontal menu swipe

*2026-08-11, version 8.26.2*

I love this app but the horizontal sliding to transition between menu sections leads to lots of accidents and ending up places I didn’t intend to. It’s driving me bananas! If your app is full of horizontal carousels, users will be swiping horizontally a lot to access different content. Don’t add another horizontal gesture that will deposit them somewhere totally different. There was nothing wrong with the old tap to change menu, and it never interrupted my task.

### 1/5 — Paid?

*2026-08-10, version 8.26.2*

Do I have to pay for the most basic things? Is everything locked behind a paywall?? Most ridiculous app, do not install if you want to do meditation

### 1/5 — pay

*2026-08-10, version 8.26.2*

i really hate how apps that are ment to help you want you to pay for things every time

### 1/5 — Poor performance and zero privacy

*2026-08-09, version 8.26.2*

1. Navigation is difficult.
2. I did two of the basic lessons on my iPhone. When I logged on the website on my Mac it did not know that I had done them.
3. One day after I signed up my wife got an ad for it on Facebook. So much for privacy.

### 1/5 — New update & log in

*2026-08-09, version 8.26.2*

I updated the app & it logged me out. Now no matter how many times I hit forget password, it doesn’t send myself an email.

My work covers part of this subscription as a benefit, so I can’t make another account.

My work is covering a log in that I can’t even use.

This is stressing me out instead of helping.

I loved this app, please fix this

### 1/5 — tu dois payer tous

*2026-08-09, version 8.26.2*

tu dois payer tous

### 1/5 — Headspace: A different place now

*2026-08-08, version 8.26.2*

I was an OG adopter of Headspace (8+ years ago). I held a year+ meditation streak and loved the app. However, I changed practices and distanced myself from the app more recently.

All that to say, I had auto-renew turned on. I never got a reminder email and was charged for an annual subscription. After talking with support, they refused to refund me the balance.

I find that Headspace has changed and they don’t uphold their original values. I wouldn’t recommend the app to anyone and I don’t plan to use it again.

### 1/5 — Didn’t the free trial

*2026-08-07, version 8.26.2*

It promised a free trial and then charged me immediately!

### 1/5 — Free trial is a lie

*2026-08-07, version 8.26.2*

When I opened the app it said there was the option of a 7 day trial so I signed up only to find out I was charged for the month the day I signed up and not given a trial. App is great but way too expensive for what it is.

### 1/5 — Money hungry

*2026-08-06, version 8.26.2*

I literally had access to practically nothing unless I paid for subscription. This is ridiculous.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — huge sigh

*2026-08-26, version 8.29.0*

why do i have to pay for everything like even 3 min videos.. like yeah let me get pass this paywall rq while im actively having an anxiety attack…. Why do u hate poor ppl

### 1/5 — Everything is behind a paywall

*2026-08-25, version 8.29.0*

The app is unusable with a subscription.

### 1/5 — Ironically bad app

*2026-08-25, version 8.29.0*

It is kind of ironic that I try and use the app to unwind mentally, yet it is so irritating to use. Upon opening the app it tells me to “breathe in, breathe out,” then proceeds to aggravate me by refusing to let me log in. For two weeks now I have not been able to log in. I have made contact via email numerous times with no response.

### 1/5 — Always glitching

*2026-08-20, version 8.28.0*

Stays on the opening screen for 10 + minutes and never goes past it…

### 1/5 — To messy to use

*2026-08-20, version 8.28.0*

The way the app is set up is so disorganized and difficult to use/navigate. Seems like random categories with no context. Why is a meditation called “new beginning” about a new school year? Anyway anytime I’m in the mood to meditate I just use YouTube nowadays or another app that I’ve started to use

### 1/5 — Why do you have to pay

*2026-08-18, version 8.28.0*

This app used to be free not anymore

### 1/5 — False advertising and charging without notice

*2026-08-16, version 8.27.1*

Terrible experience, during the sign up process, on multiple pages was it listed that a free 14 day trial was available, even once I signed into an old account from years ago it still told me a free trial was available. Once I entered my payment information they pulled a bait and switch, deciding that I wasn’t eligible for a free trial, and that they would charge me for a full years subscription without any notice. They than proceeded to refuse to fix the problem.

### 1/5 — Not compatible with iPhone X

*2026-08-15, version 8.27.1*

I cannot login with ios 16 even though it says it’s compatible with ios 15+

### 1/5 — Money required

*2026-08-14, version 8.27.1*

I used this app a little bit 5 years ago and back then, the only thing you had to pay for was if you wanted therapy (which makes sense). Last week, I tried to use this app again because I’ve been stressed and depressed and the only thing I could do is take an anxiety and stress quiz. It irritates me that they can make this app more accessible to more people, but choose to force people into this subscription model when anyone can google ‘good meditation YouTube channels’ and get free options from a random Reddit user. They used to be more accessible because you used to not have to pay for much, but now you have to pay for everything on the app. A this point, just make people pay to download the app, because it’s not free in the slightest.

### 1/5 — Taking money and I don’t have this app!

*2026-08-14, version 8.27.1*

I noticed this app withdrew money from my bank account. Maybe I had it installed at some point but canceled it? I cannot open it on my phone. I can only access it through Through the App Store and it will not open. It’s not listed on my Apple subscriptions. I don’t even know how it got my new debit card number.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2026-08-16, version 8.27.1*

Amazing!! Learn so much for it

### 5/5 — I need to meditate!

*2026-08-04, version 8.26.0*

Why is it not letting me meditate?!

### 5/5 — Great app! Recommend

*2026-07-19, version 8.23.0*

I tried it for the first time and I was like woah this is great I definitely recommend this it helped me calm down great App!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2026-07-18, version 8.23.0*

Best meditation app ever. Have used it for years and there’s zero BS like the other meditation apps. Would prefer if they stop promoting “therapy” services with full screen interstitials/ pop ups, but whatever.

### 5/5 — Ebb is impressive

*2026-07-10, version 8.21.2*

I’ve been someone who has struggled with anxiety my whole life, and the mix of meditation and therapy this app provides has been really effective for me. I have a three-pronged system in place. I speak to my therapist twice a week, meditate once a day, and externalize to Ebb during flare-ups of anxiety. These three things working together has made me feel a sense of progress I haven’t felt in a long time.

Ebb has especially come a long way since I first tried to use it when it was first introduced. It asks good questions, makes interesting connections from prior conversations, and can make effective suggestions to navigate specific moments. This will never replace my therapy, but to have a place to catch anxiety in the moment, talk through the lessons I’ve learned from my therapy, and work through things quickly with a cognitive behavioral approach, helps me catch anxiety before my day begins to spiral.

Very impressed and curious to see where things go from here.

### 5/5 — No Andy

*2026-07-01, version 8.21.0*

I’d used the app for years. Recently I noticed that it was harder to find the meditations led by Andy. Then I found out that he had left. He was my favorite and had the most calming voice. I couldn’t get comfortable with anyone else. The leads either had voices that were creepy or had a serious vocal fry. I recently left the app.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2026-06-14, version 8.18.0*

This app has been so amazing and helpful to me. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for years, and this app has been amazing to help me calm down when I’m spiraling. Ebb (virtual therapist) has helped me more than my therapist has in a long time. I am able to talk things through when I am in a spot where I can’t grasp what is going on. The fact that this is available to me at any time of day is incredible.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-06-01, version 8.16.0*

My go to app for meditation and resetting throughout the day.

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2026-05-30, version 8.16.0*

Live saver for beginners and advanced meditators tracking your progress at your own pace
