The Health & Social Care Staffing App has been produced to help any Health and Social Care providers with staffing and communicating with their workforce. Health & Social Care providers can allow their staff to register on the app and show when they are available at short notice. The Manager/Co-ordinator of the the organisation can then, in time of urgent need, see who is available to assist. Managers/Co-ordinators approve their own staff members to use the app, ensuring that only official members of staff can see future shifts, set themselves available or receive urgent push notifications. Managers and Co-ordinators can enter future shifts which are known to have a need for extra staff. The staff members are notified by Push Notification when a new shift is entered. They can also send out custom Push Notifications directly to their staff should they have an urgent and immediate staffing need. No need for Bulk SMS services or their cost. Staff members, once registered and approved within the app, can see when there are future staff needs, call the orgainsation directly, or show themselves as available at short notice should they be required. This app simplifies what’s needed and is in real time. The SOS button is particularly helpful when a shift needs cover at short notice. Staff who would like a bank shift are listed in the order they state their availability so it is a fair system. The authors have responded quickly to update and improve the functionality based on feedback & suggestions by users. I would recommend the app to anyone who has a rota for staff that still needs shifts covered or a simple way to send a message out to all bank staff in one easy move.
