## What is Health Export Kit?

Health Export Kit turns your Apple Health data into portable files you actually own.

Pick the categories you want — sleep, activity, workouts, heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, Apple Watch wrist temperature, steps, energy, exercise minutes, distance, flights climbed. Pick a date range. Pick Markdown or JSON. Tap Export. You get a clean, human-readable file that's ready for Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email, spreadsheets, or pasting into an LLM for analysis.

Everything runs on-device.
— No account. No sign-in. No cloud.
— No analytics. No advertising. No tracking.
— No third-party SDKs.
— No network requests, ever.

Your Health data never leaves your iPhone unless you decide to share the file, and you choose exactly where it goes.

Why Markdown and JSON?
— Markdown is token-efficient and designed to paste into LLMs that need your context.
— JSON is clean, compact, and built for spreadsheets and custom pipelines.

What's inside an export:
— Sleep: sessions, stages, duration, efficiency, per-stage averages for heart rate, HRV, respiration, SpO2, and wrist temperature; plus full per-minute streams if you want them.
— Activity: daily summaries for steps, active energy, exercise minutes, walking/running distance, flights climbed.
— Workouts: detailed sessions with heart rate, power, cadence, distance, splits, events, and routes (when your Apple Watch captured them).

Designed for people who:
— want a local backup of their Health data they can keep forever.
— want to feed their own data into an LLM instead of handing it to a third-party service.
— want spreadsheet-ready rows without wrangling a 2 GB XML export from apple.com.
— simply want to own their data.

Requires iOS 17+ and HealthKit. iPhone only.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.14 — 2026-08-31

Sleep exports now include totals for each sleep stage, awakening counts, and sleep efficiency. The exporter also handles gaps and partial in-bed periods more accurately.

### 1.0.13 — 2026-08-28

You can now export only the workouts you want. Turn on Workouts, open Workout types and pick Running, Cycling or anything else. The choice is saved with your presets, so a runs-only export works from Shortcuts as well. The daily distance metric is now called Walking + Running Distance so it isn't confused with workouts. Workouts in compact exports now include a per-minute breakdown, running dynamics (stride, vertical oscillation, ground contact) and max heart rate per split.

### 1.0.12 — 2026-08-11

New Mobility section in exports: walking speed, step length, walking asymmetry, double support, stair up and down speeds, six-minute walk distance, and walking steadiness. Resting energy is now part of the daily activity table. Fixed an issue where an export could get stuck partway through. Shortcuts automations now explain when you need to open the app to approve Health access. The app also works in landscape now.

### 1.0.11 — 2026-07-14

The daily log got a big update. Logging supplements and meds now takes a couple of taps, with suggestions based on what you usually take and when. You can set reminders to log and add a log widget to your Home or Lock Screen. Exports can also include meal times from other nutrition apps next to your sleep and workouts.

### 1.0.10 — 2026-07-11

This update cleans up the export format. Workout event lists no longer repeat the per-kilometer splits, and sleep vitals tables use the same columns in every session. The export header now explains partial days and which sleep sessions are included, and the breathing disturbances column has a clearer name.
