It is what it *is - an HR indicator for the lay-person. From a lay point of view, it gives an *approximate indication of trends. All the lay user wants to know (after having taken a series of readings over say, 10-14 days) is, "How much do they vary over that period of time?" and "is there any pattern emerging (eg.  is there any discomfort in the chest at times - and if so, does the discomfort level rise/lower in line with when there are high or low points in the reading.
