Until the latest update now everything is in Chinese and full of ads I would not recommend this to anyone now ### 1/5 — As poor as poor gets *2021-07-01, version 5.2* Having paid almost £500 for a set of medical grade scales I’m now subjected to an app which appears to have been built by someone who has never used the product and even worse the app now contains adds. The previous Tanita app was awful and the only improvement I can see is the inclusion of longer time periods within trending charts, however this improvement has come with many negatives (again). Having read other reviews I’m starting to think Tanita don’t really care about the consumer once they have your cash. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2021-06-09, version 5.1.2* Unacceptable privacy settings, I don’t know how you can justify mining the hell out of your user’s data and identity when they’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on your scales. ### 3/5 — the app stopped working *2021-05-29* With the last update you can no longer log the weight because it does not recognize the decimal point. It would also be useful if you could export the data to excel or a .csv file and if the other information collected in the app could be shared with apple health as it was before. An update was done that did not address did problem. I’m a loyal customer of your balance and this app has been of great help. Even when I’ve manually set the scales to st/lb, the app resets it to KG as soon as I try and use it to sync with the app. Please can you fix this. The user interface is very old style and data sharing with Apple Health user is limited. This app seems very old and just patched up over many years. It needs an overhaul. And it’s full of ads! After buying such an expensive scale I was expecting better quality. This is not free product! ### 1/5 — Don’t you even listen to your customers? *2020-08-06* I see that 5 years ago, and 4 years ago, people were complaining that you measure in cm and kg and have no facility to change to ft/in and st/lb. entire countries use the latter and have no clue what TJ e former means without making complicated calculations. C’mon guys this is not acceptable — please get those changes in. Also I agree with others who say the instructions are unclear and it’s hard to make it work. I haven’t managed to get it to work properly yet, or interact properly with the phone. The instructions that come with fail to name the app properly; the Bluetooth connection doesn’t work. What a pain for such an expensive device. I will persevere but this is so enraging. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — 広告をなくしてほしい *2026-04-08* 他の方も書かれていますが、声の多さを知って欲しいので書きます。 このアプリは広く一般のユーザーが利用するものではなく、タニタの体重計を買った人が使うものです。 いわば、タニタの顧客です。タニタにすでにお金を払っています。 その顧客に対してランダムで表示される広告を提示することは不誠実ではないでしょうか？ 少なくとも私の中でのタニタへのイメージはかなり落ちました。タニタ食堂で健康に対してのポジティブなイメージがありましたが、「意外と顧客のこと考えずにお金儲けに走っちゃうのね」と思いました。 広告が邪魔でボタンを押せないシチュエーションもあり、UXも最悪です。「テキトウなもの作ってるな」と思ってしまいます。 これだけアプリに表示される広告に対して声が上がっているということは、同じように思っている方もそれなりにいるはずだと思います。 ランダム表示の広告なんて大きな儲けにはならないはずなのに、その引き換えに守るべき企業イメージをガッツリ損なっていることに気づいて欲しいと思います。 スマホでの健康管理が当たり前になってきている今、「アプリの使いやすさで体重計を選ぶ」という選定軸があることと、オムロンのアプリはそこそこ使いやすいことを、改めて考えていただけると良いかと思います。 **Developer response:** いつもヘルスプラネットをご利用いただきありがとうございます。 アプリ内広告につきましては、無料アプリを継続するとともに、 本アプリの定期的なメンテナンスやより良いサービスに向けたアップデート開発環境を 維持するために必要な位置づけとなっております。この度のお客様からのご意見につきましては 担当部門に共有させていただきます。何卒ご理解賜りますようお願い申し上げます。 ### 1/5 — Works but far from great *2025-09-16* The app works but far from great 1. Font is making the app looks very bad and dated for international users 2. The app is kind of bundle of a commercial product as feature augmentation. It should not have adv in the first place. People won’t even pay that expensive price for a scale if it cannot sync to Apple health. Make sure your product positioning and not to annoy your customers 3. Error message and handling is poor. Tq tanita ### 5/5 — 機器連携アプリとしては使いやすい *2020-05-12* 体組成計を購入し2週間ほど使用しました。 結論としてはトップレビューの方と同じく、今の総合評価ほど低質とは感じません。 改善頂きたい点もありますが、少しでも真っ当な評価に近づくよう☆5とします。 体組成計に乗るだけで自動的に日々の計測データがスマホへ登録され、グラフ化されるのは想像以上に便利です。毎日測ろうと思えますし、振り返りやすくなります。 無駄な機能を盛り込んでおらず、使いやすいと感じます。 ただ、グラフは計測した最小・最大値を上限・下限として画面縦幅一杯に表示するので振れ幅が大きく、やや見にくさがあります。今後の最小値・最大値設定機能の実装を期待します。 ご返信される事もある様なので、蛇足ですが。 アプリ連携が売りの一つなら、レビュー対策もされた方が良いですよ。 アプリ内ではレビューに誘導するような表示・項目もないので(それがこのアプリをより使いやすくしているのですが)、わざわざ評価を書きに来るのは不満がある方がほとんどです。 実際に私も余りの低評価に製品購入を悩みましたが、今では杞憂だったと感じています。 今後も引き続き製品・アプリとも使用させていただきたく、応援しています。 **Developer response:** 貴重なご意見ご感想をいただき誠にありがとうございます。 グラフ表示についてのご要望やレビュー対応に関する考え方など、丁寧にご説明いただき感謝申し上げます。今後もお客様にご満足いただけるアプリを提供できるよう改善を進めて参りますのでどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。 ### 5/5 — Easy to use *2017-08-14, version 3.3.0* Great app. Easy to use. The app is easy to use and pairs with the Tanita body composition monitor perfectly. I use it as a competitive cyclist wanting to track my fat, muscle and hydration but other members of my family also use it for general health and weight loss tracking. My partner also uses the app with her activity monitor and is able to track and record calories and distance. Great app with good graph and long term tracking function. Recommend ### 4/5 — Wonderful app! *2019-10-21, version 3.13.4* I bought a Tanita scale (Ironman RD-545) which I love but I hate the app that goes with it (Healthy Edge mobile). It doesn’t pair at all and we can’t use it in Canada. The HealthPlanet app works beautifully, no problem at all pairing. The suggestion I would like to make is to be able to use pounds (lbs) and inches instead of just kilograms and centimeters. Also, the options to be able to print the graphs and to show more than 2 graphs at a time would also be welcome. Is it possible in a future update?
