## What is HealthSave?

Export Apple Health and Apple Watch data to CSV, JSON, or PDF in under a minute. View trends or sync to your own server. No account, no subscription, no third-party analytics.

HealthSave helps you get your health data out of Apple Health without wrestling with Apple's giant XML export. Choose the metrics and date range you need, then export clean files for spreadsheets, scripts, records, or doctor visits.

What you can do

- Export Apple Health data to CSV or JSON
- Create clean PDF reports for appointments or personal records
- View heart rate, sleep, steps, HRV, blood oxygen, workouts, weight, and more
- Track 7, 30, and 90-day trends
- Sync selected data to your own API, server, or Home Assistant setup
- Use HealthSave without an account or HealthSave cloud

Built for privacy

- Processing happens on your iPhone
- No HealthSave account
- No ads
- No third-party analytics
- Health data leaves your phone only when you export or sync to a destination you choose

Works with the data already in Apple Health

HealthSave reads from Apple Health, so it can work with data written by Apple Watch, smart scales, sleep trackers, and other connected devices. If your device writes a supported metric into Apple Health, HealthSave can help you view, export, or sync it.

HealthSave Pro

Unlock advanced features with a one-time purchase:

- PDF reports
- Background sync to your own systems
- Home Assistant integration
- Extended 30 and 90-day trend history

Optional self-hosted companion

For technical users, HealthSave can pair with HealthSave Observatory, the open-core self-hosted companion project for private dashboards, TimescaleDB, Grafana, Home Assistant, and compatible APIs. Its protocol and SDK layers are open source, while the self-hosted server core is source-available under Elastic License 2.0. The HealthSave app also works on its own for local dashboard and file export workflows.

HealthSave is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It displays and exports health data recorded by Apple Health and your connected devices.

### 5/5 — Buy it

*2026-06-30*

Had the feature I needed when I built my own health dashboard and the developer replies same day to help troubleshoot with you. Great UI vs the competition. Highly recommend!!

### 4/5 — Great potential

*2026-06-09*

After a bit of initial challenge, got it working. Initial sync when you’ve been gathering data for a long time seems to be a challenge, but developer can help you out if you run into a snag.

### 5/5 — Great app!!

*2026-04-02*

I've been wearing an Apple Watch for three years and always hated that my health data was basically trapped. I tried exporting from the Health app directly and got a massive XML file that was useless. HealthSave is the opposite. Clean CSV and JSON exports that I could immediately open in Excel and Python. The dashboard inside the app is also surprisingly good for quick trend checks. I'm running a small home server and the API sync feature is exactly what I was looking for. Set it up in maybe 3 minutes with my FastAPI endpoint and it just works in the background now. The one-time Pro price is fair for what you get. No subscription, no account, no data going anywhere I don't control. This is how health apps should work.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.1 — 2026-08-24

Doctor PDF reports now carry your full record

- Heart rate, HRV and SpO2 show a complete day-by-day table; weight and blood pressure list every reading
- The Home Assistant screen shows whether each push was delivered

### 1.7.0 — 2026-07-30

Home Assistant background sync is reliable again

- Fixed: background pushes could freeze or send stale values until you opened the app — each wake now reads fresh data and a stuck push can no longer block future ones
- Setup asks what brought you here — your first steps and the Pro overview speak to your goal
- Clearer upload progress on the sync screen

### 1.6.9 — 2026-07-29

HealthSave now adapts to you

- Setup asks what brought you here — your first steps and the Pro overview now speak to your goal
- Changed your mind? Re-answer any time in Settings
- Clearer upload progress on the sync screen
- Refined dark-mode card surfaces

### 1.6.8 — 2026-07-26

Watch your sync happen
The sync screen is now one live timeline — Prepare, Read, Upload, Confirm — with each stage lighting up as it runs and a receipt from your own server when the data lands. Quiet self-healing runs in its own lane, and alerts are reserved for things you can actually act on.

A dashboard you choose
Pick which vitals ride your ledger, tap any day in the year grid to open it in detail, and read a metric's average, minimum and maximum without leaving the card.

Light, Dark, or System
A new Appearance setting — follow your iPhone, or hold the mode you prefer.

Faster to open, and steadier
The Overview now paints as soon as your first metric is ready instead of waiting for the slowest one. A stuck “older upload needs recovery” notice now clears itself once your server confirms the data arrived.

### 1.6.7 — 2026-07-13

Full Archive export, fixed for large libraries
Full Archive export — including sleep, workout, and medication history — now streams your data in small chunks instead of loading it all into memory at once, so large multi-year libraries export reliably instead of running out of memory.

Reliability fixes
CSV exports now quote fields containing line breaks correctly, and continued stability improvements keep large exports running smoothly.
