### 4/5 — Great app. Only one inconvenience

*2025-11-04, version 3.0*

I’ve been using this app for a long time and it’s very useful to help track nutrition along with health conditions. Only downside is the scanner doesn’t work anymore… I would have to manually type everything

### 4/5 — Tracks micronutrients

*2025-02-26, version 3.0*

I compared a lot of apps when I originally downloaded this years ago, and this one did the best job of tracking micronutrients (vitamins and minerals, plus a few other things like choline, caffeine, lycopene, etc). It is also free which I love.

I love that it has so many foods in its database that have all the micronutrients. Plus there is the ability to manually enter foods or recipes or to use manually entered foods that other people have entered.

It doesn’t seem to be being updated that often. It has consistently worked very well though, and it’s kind of nice that it’s it being changed all the time. There is now a bug where it won’t let me create or edit recipes. Also I wish it showed more micronutrients in the daily summary, like Iodine. The specific foods have the info about iodine but it doesn’t show up in the totals for the whole day so you can’t see an overall picture.

### 3/5 — Really good but can be great

*2022-05-28, version 2.5*

This app is very cool. Especially when you want to keep track of specific things… like how much vitamin d you’re consuming, or how much fiber or calcium, etc. I’ve absolutely loved it. I feel like it’s not about loosing weight, it’s about being healthy. I recommend it to everyone but I do have one complaint which drives me nuts and makes it less reliable… Their catalog of foods isn’t as large and the nutrition facts aren’t as accurate as the Lose it! app, and the barcode scanning tool rarely allows me to find what I’m searching for. So I always have to do the searches manually and, while I know these apps are not perfectly accurate, this one feels more like it’s giving me a much more of a vague idea of what I’m consuming.

### 4/5 — Great app to track nutrition!

*2020-11-10, version 2.5*

I love how this app isn’t all about calories, it’s about what you’re fueling your body with! I like to make sure my nutrition is at least an 80% every single day and strive for 90%. It’s made life a lot simpler guessing what foods to put in my body.

Alongside some supplements, I am feeling much better. My health feels more complete and it is very encouraging!

One thing I will note is that if I manually enter something, sometimes it says there’s an error when there is not. Also, the app sometimes closes out on it’s own after hitting submit to add a food. I go back into the app and sometimes it has tracked it, and sometimes I need to re-enter.

Other than that, I am so happy this app exists!! Thank you so much to whoever made this, you’ve truly changed my life :)

### 3/5 — Great app, but crashes and is clunky

*2019-08-26, version 2.5*

I LOVE this app and have been using it for years to track macros... however it is very slow and crashes almost every time I use it. Recently has gotten worse. Hoping to see improvements, would rate 5✨ if it functioned more smoothly and was more stable

### 2/5 — Great Tracker, but with bugs - seems to be abandoned

*2019-07-13, version 2.5*

Used to pretty good, but expected improvements over time. I’ve reported numerous bugs, but the app has never been updated. It appears to be abandoned, so I will now look elsewhere.

I agree with the comments from Maven802. The app is really good at tracking micronutrients. I have been using it for about 2 months. I continue to use it, but it has a number of quirks/bugs and limitations that users need to be aware of:

- If you go back to relook at the serving size of a food you have already entered and do not re-save it, the entry defaults back to it's original default serving size. As an example if I pick 1 ounce, save it, then want to see the micronutrients association with that item, and don't resave it after I look at the nutrients, the serving will default back to 3 ounces if that's the default for that particular food.

- The app randomly does not save items, especially on the tracker list.

- Why limit the tracker to only 8 items?

- There is no way to know if a micronutrient is 0 or is missing from the database. I would suggest a "-" in lieu of a 0 so the user knows the information is missing and cannot be relied upon.

- Every entry that I have run into that only has a "100g" measurement and no others does the conversion wrong. As an example, Distilled White Vinegar - by Giant has a serving size of "15 ml (100g)". 15 ml of vinegar is not 100g, 15 ml is 15 g, so all calculations associated with this would be wrong. I have found this to occur over and over again for any food that only has a "equivalent" of 100g measurement and it's always wrong, so the user has to be very careful.

- If you enter a custom food, there is no way to change anything if you make a mistake. You must delete it and start over. Entering custom food is not easy - generally you will have g or mg, but most things need to be entered as a % of the recommended daily requirement. So, it's not easy and if you make a mistake, then it's back to square 1.

- The app does not take into account user defined limits for all micronutrients. As an example, I have set a lower limit for sodium at 2500 mg. It doesn't matter what I have for sodium as long as I'm under the max I get a "green" rating. As it turns out, I really NEED at least 2500 mg of sodium, and if I'm below that the tracker should not show green.

- Trackers disappear for no reason and have to be re-added.

Some basic enhancements would be very helpful:

- The ability to create a new food, from an existing entry would be very helpful.

- The ability to choose what micronutrients to see on the daily summary main screen would be nice.

- Integration with the IOS Health App - i.e., my weight is recorded daily. Have it read it and log it in the tracker. The same should apply to steps and exercise.

- Allow users or at least re-evaluate the scale on some of the trend graphs. As an example, I have a target protein of 20%, yet I can't see my daily numbers since the scale goes to 100%. BP trends, while accurate are not displayed in a manner that's very useful. (I suggest looking at the way the Health Mate app displays blood pressure (it would be nice to integrate this with the Apple Health app, too.)

- Allow offline use of the app. As it stands you have to have a connection to use the app.

- Apple watch integration.

- A way to track fluids for the day.

### 4/5 — Love this App!

*2019-07-02, version 2.5*

This is one of the best free apps available that provides so
much information.
Will there be an update that might include Apple Watch tracking as well as water tracking?

### 3/5 — Could have been a great app

*2019-06-17, version 2.5*

I love the mechanics of this app. It is easy to use, the Daily Report nicely summarized your day, it’s one of the few app that tracks more than just your standard calorie & a handful of nutrients.

Sadly, the food database is much smaller than MyFitnessPal, there are many errors for the food that is in the database, and there is no clear way to submit to or correct items in the database. I’ve been using the app for 3 days now and there are many big name products where there is no barcode in the database. Approximations are nice, but if I am going to pay for an app, it better be at the top of its game and not some wanna be.

My suggestion is to work on your food database it really is lacking by comparison to other similar apps.

### 3/5 — Sketchy Math

*2018-03-19, version 2.5*

HealthWatch360 can track all the important stuff but the food database is limited. Unable to manually add all nutrition facts based on some sketchy math. Customer service was very responsive but not willing to compromise. She actually blamed the issue on me.

### 3/5 — Manual entry is problematic

*2017-10-23, version 2.4*

The screen only shows part of required fields of entry. I can’t complete the manually entered foods because I can’t see the calorie count point of entry.

### 2/5 — Cannot add manual entry anymore

*2017-10-20, version 2.4*

The new update has a glitch that keeps you from being able to see the top section of the manual entry form. Screen is blank white at the top but you can scroll down to see protein and everything below it.

### 3/5 — A glitch

*2017-08-08, version 2.3*

When working well, I like it. however it sometimes doesn't retain data, requiring re-entry. You can tell by looking at the calorie calculation in the heading. It doesn't forget data that has been processed. The problem seems to occur randomly.

### 3/5 — Protein calculation wrong?

*2017-06-02, version 2.2*

I calculated that daily for my weight I should have 45 grams of protein a day (based on RDA) But when I usually am reaching 50-60 grams a day it is telling me I am deficient in protein. It worries me that other measurement are off and I hope they check it out.

### 3/5 — Great but....

*2017-03-28, version 2.2*

This app is great, especially with watching what you eat so I no longer have to worry about manually counting what I do and don't do! Everything is great but I have used this app on two devices now and every time I exit the app it logs me out and it takes a while to log back in every time, it just makes it harder to access.

### 4/5 — Vegan

*2017-03-08, version 2.2*

It is super hard to keep track of protein. You should add a vegan and vegetarian feature.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — New update a pain!!!

*2017-09-29, version 2.3.1*

The new update said it fixed bugs...but now every time I log in it tells me there is an upgrade and I have to upgrade again. I think it made more bugs. Can you fix this please?

### 1/5 — Flawed design, so much potential

*2016-06-06, version 2.0*

This app has extremely important intentions. It shares much more dietary and other nutritional information than any other app. However, it is fundamentally buggy. The way it interacts with HealthKit is flawed. It stores data in a very clunky way, for example overwriting an entire month's worth of weight data as soon as I install it. It also does not store time of entry in HealthKit the way MyFitnessPal does. In addition the app just freezes or fails to search its database at times. I wish I could keep using it. But alas.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2016-05-03, version 1.5*

It worked at first. But then it crashes every time it finishes connecting with my Facebook.

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2016-01-26, version 1.5*

Fitbit connection doesn't carry over minutes/calories correctly.
Food database is bigger, but still limited.
Needs a better format/UI.
Requires too many food items to be input to provide score- should provide score based on what has been eaten so far, not what it is at the end of the day. Great for being free.

### 1/5 — Nutritional Tracker

*2015-12-27, version 1.5*

This APP is really horrible! God forbid you don't eat a typical breakfast, lunch or dinner. It can't handle anything outside the ordinary. I entered a super food and it was useless. No place to enter much of the data, very clumsy, doesn't save information effectively, etc etc

### 1/5 — Facebook forced

*2015-06-27, version 1.5*

App will not operate without allowing access to Facebook contact lists. Horrible design.

### 1/5 — Needs amendments!!

*2014-07-14, version 1.3*

I have carefully updated details such as height and weight and once I have got to the finish it had changed my height to 4ft 11 when I am 5ft which means BMI measurements are wrong. You don't have a facility to change details, therefore I have created another account and carefully checked my height again before selecting and once again it moved it to 4 ft 11!! I have now deleted the app!!

It's a shame as the app looked really good!

### 2/5 — No more exercise integration

*2023-03-06, version 3.0*

Just updated to the latest version. Disappointed that they no longer allow integration with Fitbit. Will have to go back to manually entering exercise.

### 2/5 — Can’t log in with this app.

*2021-05-15, version 2.5*

Hasn’t been updated in 3 years. Can’t log in with the app while i can with the website using same password and user name. Deleted.

### 2/5 — Nutrition tracking is great but the app is horrible

*2020-08-15, version 2.5*

This is one of the few nutrition apps that track potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, etc. and from that standpoint it is great. However it regularly gives me errors that aren’t really errors. One example is that when I am manually entering a food, it tells me that either the calories or the carbs or something us wrong. I can’t get past that error and I have to skip that food. I have actually reported this, but it continues to happen. Today it tells me that I am off line which I am not. I am connected to my Wi-Fi and it continues to tell me that I am not connected. I have rebooted my phone and reloaded the app to no avail. I’m going to have to find me another app unfortunately.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Macro and micro nutrients

*2023-05-25, version 3.0*

I use this app to track nutrients. I do strength training and use the macro nutrient tracker to make sure that I’m getting enough protein. The micronutrient tracker helps me to identify micronutrients that I’m falling short on and it also recommends foods that are high in them. Potassium is a good example of a micronutrient that most Americans don’t get enough of and I learned that potatoes are the best source, not bananas.

### 5/5 — Best app

*2020-08-14, version 2.5*

This app is great I use it everyday
Live safer work AWSOME great work guys !!

### 5/5 — The best

*2018-08-31, version 2.5*

I use this to track my macro and micro nutrients. I’ll check my macros (protein, carbs, fat) to see how I’m doing then adjust the contents of my next meal if needed. Same goes for micro nutrients (calcium, potassium, etc.) I really like that the app makes it easy to see where your nutrients came from with just a tap. You can also tap to see how to get more of a particular nutrient. Potassium has been my biggest challenge. I eat a plant based diet so all of the other nutrients come easy.

### 5/5 — Sweet nutrition at-a-glance

*2017-10-19, version 2.4*

For several years now, HealthWatch 360 has been one of the most comprehensive food trackers in terms of nutrition (which is what REALLY matters for health). While other popular trackers continue to only highlight the basic macronutrients that one finds in food labels (protein, fat, carbs...), HealthWatch 360 gets detailed, with over 30 nutrients (includes nutrients like manganese, choline, omega-3, lutein, etc). With this new version 2.0, it now looks better than ever (upload your own avatar pic!), and includes 2 new features called HealthWatch Goals and Personalized Nutrition. Basically, you can now set the levels of nutrients that you need, for your life. If you choose a HealthWatch Goal (like 'bone health', for example), the app will set your nutrition levels to match this, and will also allow you to track things that are relevant to 'bone health' (sun exposure, joint pain, menopause, etc). Meanwhile on Personalized Nutrition panel you can see what the new nutrient levels are, and can even adjust them further (maybe based on recommendations by your dietitian or doctor). And now there are Meal Plans for your entire day’s nutrition all-at-once! Great improvements; this tool keeps us moving along "on the road to healthy".

### 5/5 — Great tool to track total health and nutrition

*2017-10-19, version 2.4*

I highly recommend this app to all those who are looking for one app to track calories, nutrients, exercise, and other customizable traits. Works great and feels great

### 5/5 — Great Health App

*2017-07-16, version 2.3*

Training for the rigorous career to be shipped halfway across the world? I'm not! But this app definitely helped me lose weight the healthy way as well as help change my diet for bone pain . Thank you for inventing this APP

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-04-05, version 2.2*

I love that it tracks vitamin/nutrient levels as well as calories. Having a balanced diet is more important to me than losing weight.

### 5/5 — True Precision Medicine App

*2016-07-28, version 2.2*

I have been using this great app since its first version - with amazing results and was never disappointed. The main feature of this app I have found most helpful to me is its flexibility allowing me to use it as both a planning and tracking tool. I can plan ahead of time -usually the next day -what I will eat, check the Nutrition Score to ensure a well balanced diet that suits me the best and make any adjustments as necessary. The current version allows me to track up to 12 health conditions and dynamically adjust my daily nutrition goals and limits. This is exactly what precision medicine should be: each person should have his/her own nutritional goals based upon his/her personal health condition and genetic background. For me, I had very high triglyceride level which is the prelude for diabetes. I had tried many medications and none worked well. It is only with the help of this app that I have managed to lower - and MAINTAIN - my triglyceride level from high 600 to around 150 with just changes in my diets. This App also is seamlessly integrated with Apple health. All the foods and supplements I entered into this app are now shown on the Apple Health and stored in my iCloud account and can be shared with my doctors. I told my endocrinology doc about this amazing App a while ago, today all patients of her are using it. Thanks Healthwatch360, you guys rock!

### 5/5 — Great for other reasons!

*2016-07-21, version 1.5*

Apparently I'm an anomaly. I use this app for the trackers which can be totally personalized. I have a chronically high stress life & concomitant health issues.(and several concussions in the past few years). So being able to track mood, fatigue, depression, meditation, blood pressure, glucose, stress from my ex, how I handled it...these are capabilities I've found in no other app! That I can prioritize the factors & see relationships re what affects what is super helpful (& healthful)! I haven't upgraded recently & am hoping the new version allows the same! For nutrition, ive used MyNetDiary for years & am delighted with it-wish the data from there could automatically transfer to here! Thank goodness iHealth helps a bit with that. Last but not least, I'm fascinated by the articles offered & would love to have genetic evaluation but have no clue where...in the meantime this app keeps me posted on the latest in medical discoveries! Thanks so much!

### 5/5 — I’m a dietitian, and this is the BEST nutrition app ever!!!

*2016-06-07, version 2.0*

As a nutritionist and dietitian, I must say this app is far better than any other I have tried. Not only can I use it to monitor every nutrient in the diet (like omega-3, calcium and choline), I can also set specific nutrition goals to fit any recommendations I make! This works great for patients that are on high protein or low carb diets (for example) or those that need to correct deficiencies (like anemia).

With the most recent update, the app allows you to select health goals that come with pre-loaded nutrition plans based on medical nutrition therapy guidelines! It is incredible. This way I have the basic framework for dietary interventions for heart health, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and even things like longevity, sports nutrition and pregnancy. The power of this app blows the others out of the water in its ability to provide effective, precision nutrition on a continual basis; I can't be there all the time, but this app can provide feedback to my patients at every meal! I highly recommend this app for anyone who realizes and appreciates the importance of nutrition for optimal health.
