### 4/5 — Wow! Amazing.

*2023-11-22*

This is really cool. I’ve had inception app first then found RJDJ. This is the next step and it keeps getting better and better. I’m an old fart and I love opening this app and drowning out the drones in my life. They just keep talking and talking and I just keep nodding and smiling. Wish you guys could make it run with Bluetooth so I could use it with my hearing aids. That would be AWSOME. Also if it could run in the background with the screen off. Hopefully that’ll be an update soon. Anyway great app. Keep up the good work.

### 4/5 — Great app. Except it doesn’t work with AirPods Pro

*2022-08-26, version 0.7*

Works well and is fun to use. Only downside is it doesn’t work with the mic if you have AirPods. Wish devs can fix that

### 4/5 — No Bluetooth support?

*2022-08-01, version 0.7*

I don’t have a headphone jack and only own Bluetooth headphones. The app doesn’t use them for what ever reason. I really want this to work as it is the only other option to the inception app.

### 4/5 — Amazing! But Bluetooth…

*2021-12-13, version 0.7*

I LOVE this app; honestly it’s THEE best hearing apps!
I just redownloaded it, but I’m sad to find out that it only supports plug-in headphones… my phone doesn’t even have a headphone port unless I buy an adapter.. I -only- listen to Bluetooth headphones, and it’s been that way for a good year now… I miss this app

### 3/5 — Not the same

*2020-10-14, version 0.7*

As others have said, this is no RJDJ or it’s affiliated apps. I was hoping to find something similar to the experience of RJDJ and it’s audial-based augmented reality, but because those apps have been defunct for years, I picked this up. The soundscapes need some tweaking, as there’s just a baseline of harsh noise that was not present in RJDJ.

TL;DR: bring back RJDJ or Dimensions!

### 3/5 — Still supporting this app?

*2019-12-21, version 0.7*

It’s been a year or more since I used it and this was the first thing I went to when I got my new AirPod pros today thinking this was going to be an amazing experience but it seems like only wired headphones are compatible?

Please tell me I’m wrong

### 4/5 — LOVE THIS APP...but

*2019-12-08, version 0.7*

Hi there! You made such a wonderful app that brings pure joy any time I’ve used it. The one thing that would make the app feel lovely and fresh again after what feels like over a year of being abandoned is if you would add wireless headphone support. I would pay extra for this feature.

I’ll still be giving a 4 star rating, but please if you could add this one feature that would just be so special. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Love this, but it needs accessibility

*2019-06-27, version 0.7*

I was a huge fan of Inception and Dimensions, though I stepped away from them for a while for some reason. Searching around on the app store for something similar brought me to this app, and I was excited to see all that the app could do...and then dismayed to find that my totally blind partner can't even get past the opening headphone message because the gestures aren't compatible with the VoiceOver screen reader. So someone who should, by the app's very nature, be able to fully appreciate all this app has to offer actually *CAN't* because of the interface. Please work to fix this so that everyone can use the app, not just those of us with enough eyesight. Thanks!

### 4/5 — I hope there’ll be more

*2019-06-25, version 0.7*

Either an update, making this app work more smoothly with bluetooth headsets or earbuds, or a new app in the same vein as this one and the inception app i loved so much but has been taken out of the app store.

Until then, I’ll keep searching for more like this.

### 4/5 — Great for eliminating distractions

*2018-10-25, version 0.7*

I love this app. Use it when I write in busy or noisy places.

I have to take off a star for the UI though, it's a bit clunky and doesn't fit right in the screen of my SE.

Wish I could include a screenshot.

### 4/5 — Wow! Amazing.

### 4/5 — Doesn’t support bluetooth audio

*2018-04-18, version 0.7*

Really wanted to try the app, but the lack of Bluetooth support made it unusable for me.

Edit: turns out the reason there is no Bluetooth support is a technical limitation, not oversight by the developer. Haven’t tried the app yet, but it won’t let me delete my review, so I just changed it from 2 star and will change when I get to use it.

### 3/5 — Can be really cool but needs a major update.

*2018-02-15, version 0.7*

I've used this app since the beginning. When it was first released I had an iPhone6 which has an aux port and is essential for enjoying this app to the fullest at the moment. Now I have an iPhone7 and cannot enjoy this app without my lightning to aux dongle.

I just paid for the two new addons because I enjoy this app so much when it works. But you guys really need to add support for Bluetooth headphones and mics now that there are two generations of iPhones that are bluetooth only.

### 3/5 — No iPhone X?

*2017-12-19, version 0.3.2*

Works great on my 6s but jacked up on my iPhone X. It’s not the lightning headphones either, tried them on my 6S and works fine. Just thought the devs might want to know since I didn’t see any other comments here yet saying anything about it.

### 3/5 — Great app except for some glaring issues.

*2017-04-03, version 0.3.2*

#1, you will not hear notifications when they come in while this app is open.

#2, if you don't hit the side button of your iPhone to turn it off when you open this app, it will keep you iPhone screen open/lit, even if you have your phone auto-lock set for 30 seconds. It just keeps the phone screen on/open. I'm not sure if it happens every time, but it's happened enough time, where I can feel the phone getting so warm in my pocket that I have to look to realize it the screen never turned off because of this app.

This app would be freaking fantastic if not for these issues.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Developer Desperately Needs To Change The UI

*2018-08-16, version 0.7*

What a Sad Case This Is!

An App Which Could Be Something Has Been Reduced To Nothing By It’s Creator?!

First, You Cannot Even Attempt To Adjust The Settings Properly 99% Of The Time Because The ‘Layers’ Of The App Controls Overlap One Another!

Second, The Sliders You’re Supposed To Use To Adjust The Audio Settings Are Wonky. When You Slide To Adjust The Audio, What You See Does Not Correspond With What You Get.

For Example; Imagine Decreasing The Volume Of An App Using A Sliding Controller. You’d Touch, Then Slide Toward The Left Side Of Your Screen. In A Proper App, The Volume Would Drop. But In This App, What You See Is Not What You Get.

Touch, Then Slide Toward The Left Side Of Your Screen And What Happens Is Anybody’s Guess.

This App Worked Once And It SHOULD Be Updated To Work Correctly.

Until Then, Save Yourself The Frustration!

### 1/5 — Not Usable with Airpods

*2018-02-22, version 0.7*

It’s amazing to me that the developer did not give this app Airpod functionality, as I believe that would be the ultimate experience. And I no longer have my old cord earbuds—so this app is now useless to me.

Your description says Bluetooth doesn’t support high quality audio. THE AIRPODS DO!

Give it airpod functionality and I’ll change my review to five stars ASAP.

### 1/5 — Way too many problems

*2016-12-30, version 0.3.2*

This app worked fine for about five minutes and then it just stopped working and started giving nothing but really loud bursts of sound and feedback loops. I really like the idea of the app and a lot of the features sounded really cool at first, but every time I plug it in now I just get an insane amount of feedback. No Bueno!

### 1/5 — Cool in concept, but...

*2016-06-03, version 0.3.2*

I downloaded the app because I liked the idea of having something to listen to whilst reading that would allow me to relax without completely masking my surroundings. I was greatly disappointed. All of the settings sound exactly the same, which is to say like listening to radio static with a small amount of real world sound mixed in. It's annoying, it makes my head hurt, I'm deleting the app as soon as I finish writing this review. Don't bother with trying out this app.

### 2/5 — No BT Support? In 2019?

*2019-11-16, version 0.7*

I mean... come on. The iPhones have been without a headphone jack for far too long for this kind of lapse to be forgivable. If they had time to program In-App purchases, they had time to set up Blue Tooth compatibility. Feels greedy and lazy, which is a crying shame because I’ve had this app since it launched.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2019-04-26, version 0.7*

This is the coolest concept ever. To add ambient noise that you can control is pretty cool. The things that kill this app are Bluetooth compatibility and UI issues.

With two generations of iPhones being totally wireless, this is a must have feature.

And the UI usually gets in its own way, sliders will overlap with text and it gets frustrating. And the iPhone platform keeps a red bar on top of your phone to let you know that the app is using your mic. That isn’t up to the app dev to control that but it’s still a gripe that affects functionality for me.

### 2/5 — A sad demise

*2018-07-20, version 0.7*

This used to be one of my favorite apps. Let’s put aside the fact that it’s been abandoned. The last update came out of nowhere - a couple of extra in-app purchases that gave the impression the dev was on a midnight taco run and decided to hit up this old ATM account - a couple new filter thrown in, fishing for some loose change.
But I SWEAR something has changed with the old filters. They just don’t work the way they used to. Something changed in the algorithm and they don’t drown out sound they way they used, they don’t produce trippy musical feedback the way they used to. I used this app EVERY DAY when studying, but now I can’t use it because it’s cacophonous and ear splitting. Forget that I’ve tried it on different devices with different phones and buds. There was so much promise. :(
No one else has stumbled upon the ideas that drove this app initially.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work with AirPods

*2018-06-30, version 0.7*

Hear is a pretty neat experience, but it doesn’t seem to support Bluetooth headphones. I rarely have an adapter with wired headphones on me, as I usually travel with my airpods. The lack of Bluetooth support is sadly a pretty big dealbreaker, and I hope they are able to add support for them at some point.

### 2/5 — Does not like Bluetooth

*2018-06-10, version 0.7*

I loved the original RjDj and was excited to see this had come out. While the app works fine with plugged in headphones, I have not been able to get it to work with any Bluetooth headphones I own. Headphones that have a mic and that I make calls with won’t work. In this day and age, this is a disappointment. With Bluetooth headphone support, I’d give this app 4-5 stars.

### 2/5 — Doesn't even come close to the original

*2017-11-11, version 0.3.2*

Doesn't even come close to how amazing the original RJDJ was. One of my favorites on the old app though I can't remember the name since it was back in 08 was when you could make noises with anything on you and it would put each little sound into a beat. I loved it! Friends and I would spend hours picking things up around the house and making music. My baby brother at the time was in love with it. This app.. It just doesn't have any of the appeal the old one had. I'm trying to like it because I was actually in love with the original.. I like that I can fine tune the settings. But honestly that's a feature you could have given the original. I'm not saying it's a bad app, but once you've had the original in your hand and you know its potential.. This is a bit of a let down.

### 5/5 — Inception app

*2021-06-23, version 0.7*

I’m so happy to be able to somewhat come close to experience what i felt with the inception app. This is awesome and am grateful but am not able to accept we’ve lost the inception app to time…

We need that back. Please if anyone with the ability to help bring it back is reading this, make it happen.

### 5/5 — A travel essential for me.

*2021-01-26, version 0.7*

I use this app when I travel to scramble the sound of conversations around me. “Relax” and “Sleep” create ambient soundscapes that scramble up sounds into music at a volume corresponding to the noise, the upshot being that you hear the music in place of the noise. It takes something stressful and makes it soothing. The add-on “Trippy” lives up to its name. It’s not soothing, but it definitely scrambles up your perceptions. I don’t recommend the add on “Upbeat”—it seems to prefer the left audio channel, which I find annoying. It also doesn’t have a way to reset, and since it creates an evolving soundscape out of audio samples, it can accumulate a lot of “junk” sounds.

### 5/5 — It goes to eleven

*2020-05-13, version 0.7*

It’s tripping without all the fuss and bother. Try playing/singing in the relax mode. Make some serious beats in Upbeat mode. Laugh yourself silly in other modes. Do it with a friend-if you can split the headphones, go for it. LOVE THIS!

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2018-07-08, version 0.7*

A record button and the ability to download recordings would be great.

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2018-03-30, version 0.7*

Been looking for this daily !! After I uninstall I missed it badly and thought you guys cancelled it, I could never find it until google search, I installed it again Anyway, Keep up the work on this app, don’t disappear again Lol 😂, My favorite are the sleep (which helps my sleep alot) and office( keeps me focus on my work) 👍🏻, the other ones I can’t see what are they use for,(question) if you can explain in a tutorial videos what they can be use for or explain what I can use for?

### 5/5 — Let us Record!

*2017-11-11, version 0.3.2*

I would love to be able to record the sounds we create with this. I used the original RjDj all the time, and while this is pretty close, it doesn’t seem to have the same options.

As for copying the “Here - Active Listening” app, that’s complete crap. Their app is a #*%&-show and doesn’t even support iOS 11. Plus you need their stupid, shoddy headphones from their scam of a Kickstarter.

RjDj predates their app by YEARS.

Can’t believe this app has bad reviews, especially considering it’s totally free. Some people you just can’t please.

### 5/5 — Really effective!

*2017-04-08, version 0.3.2*

I have ADD and work in an environment rife with distractions. Normally, I struggle to re-focus when interrupted. Using this app makes me able to shift back and forth much more efficiently. What a wonderful outcome!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2017-01-09, version 0.3.2*

When oh WHEN will we be able to record the output? Record when we hear? This option needs to be added to the app. Please!!!

### 5/5 — This app will blow your mind!

*2016-11-13, version 0.3.2*

I've never rated an app before but this app was so fun and different I couldn't not rate it. I haven't see or heard of any other apps that are as innovative. Can't wait to see how this technology develops.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2016-09-20, version 0.3.2*

Please keep this updated and please include a patronage/donation page so people can help you make this app even better (like adding support for AirPods when they are released)
