Heard now sorts your library by recent books by default.

Heard uses Firebase Analytics (a Google product) to understand coarse, aggregate usage of the App — for example, that a book was opened, that playback started or paused, or that a voice was changed. These events include the book’s ID and title (truncated) and the selected voice/language, but never the book’s text or any generated audio. Firebase also automatically collects standard technical information (such as device model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated app-instance identifier) that is not tied to your name or any account.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-22

Version 1.1.0 brings:
-Limited background play. Now you can play audio while multitasking or with the iphone screen off, though generating audio takes longer in the background. It will display "generating audio" as the author as it generates audio. To prevent using too many resources, the app may eventually pause background playback. Hit play to resume or return to the app to continue generating audio with full processing power.
-You can now control playback speed and pause length after sentences in settings. The TTS also pauses longer after paragraphs.
-Better support for page locations in long EPUBs.
