Clearly, everything has been created/written by AI and not proofread or reviewed. From “You might alsk like” to “Explore more in the hashtage” or the AI generated book art for “God, Human, Animal, Machine” that reads “God, Human, Animal, Mactfene”, the typos are littered throughout. There are also glitches, such as when I tried to listen to Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and after the intro voiceover completed, it would begin reading the takeaways from a completely different book. Overall, I found it unusable and frankly a disappointingly lazy display of AI, despite wanting to like it. ### 4/5 — Assessment *2025-05-20* Great content but… I’ve had to delete the app a few times in this first week because the audio quits working. It is unacceptable to ignore paying customers, especially regarding basic account access. Do not upgrade to Pro until they fix their account migration process and improve their customer service. ### 1/5 — Sound disappears *2025-10-20, version 2.2.2* Sound disappears after a few minutes. They said it was easy to cancel during the 7 day grace period… IT IS NOT… beware! ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-09-13, version 1.7.1* I was charged for access to this application and it allowed me to set up my account. However it continues to tell me I am entering the wrong password and they do not have a password reset option. More concerning, I cannot find any way to contact Heardly to reset the password manually or to issue a refund. ### 1/5 — Don’t download *2024-06-12* This is a scam, they offer you the trial possibility, then before your 7 days if you want to unsubscribe (because the summaries are very bad) you don’t have the possibility at anywhere! Heardly ### 1/5 — Dangerous to be lazy! *2024-06-01, version 1.5.8* Relaying on a biased algorithm to feed your already polarised mind!… wow …..The first books presented in the app on a my new account, where all the books you want to avoid and got the society in the mess we are today!!! ### 1/5 — Awful, Just Awful *2024-05-01, version 1.5.4* I purchased a 1 year subscription and cancelled it in the same afternoon (today), after listening to just 4 book summaries (3 of which I just couldn’t bear to finish). I usually don’t post reviews but felt compelled to do so on this occasion. The developer needs to do something about the narration style and content - and quickly. It is really missing the mark entirely. Monotonous summaries which are completely overflowing with unnecessary buzzwords, disjointed phraseology and hyperbole. The whole feel of each narration is ‘trying too hard’ to be hip and cool but failing miserably; a real failure of style over any substance. Cringeworthy in parts. I don’t know who the target market is but it was an almost instant turn-off for me. You won’t last longer than the initial subscription timescale if this is the best that you can do. I signed up for the trial, listened to five, and got relatively little information of any value. “In this chapter, author _____ takes a lighthearted look at ways to _____.” Narrated by AI voices. Obviously no human took any time to validate or edit the content. Boring, useless, a waste of time. (And no, these are not 15 minutes.) If this is any reflection of how startups are going try to milk AI for revenue, they are doomed.
