Read the oath we all take to join Heare and you’ll discover that the intention is to provide a safe, give and take environment for men to offer support, encouragement and enjoy camaraderie. I’ve made some good friends with like-minded guys and it makes a difference to feel like you have a tribe: a place to belong. The founders interact with their members and take a vested interest in practicing what they preach. The interface is robust and intuitive. I’ve been so encouraged by the app that a purchased a yearly membership even though there are ‘free’ options. That’s how much I believe in the brotherhood. The entire time I was bombarded by Evangelical rhetoric and I was removed from the app for trying to appeal to the group that I have significant trauma surrounding Evangelicalism and to please leave me alone about it. I feel like the world is getting better at addressing the need to take mental health, serious, and more particularly men’s mental health, and this app provides a safe outlet for men, struggling with any issues.
