## What is Heart Matter?

Tracks real-time heart rate and RR intervals with most BLE chest strap heart rate sensors. Some smartwatches and wrist-worn devices may not connect because they do not support the standard BLE Heart Rate profile.

Whether you’re aiming for fitness or endurance, effective aerobic exercise means keeping your heart rate at 60–80% of your maximum for at least 15 minutes. Simply set your age, and the app automatically calculates your maximum heart rate and key target zones (60%, 70%, 80%), then shows them on a real-time graph—helping you avoid slowing down or pushing too hard, for safer, more effective workouts.

When you press the PiP button, a small window appears. The color on the left side of the window indicates system status: green means normal, red indicates overheating, and gray shows delay. The blinking dot next to the number confirms that heart rate is being measured and updated continuously. The background color of the number on the right side represents heart rate zones: below 60% of maximum is blue, up to 80% is green, up to 90% is orange, and above 90% is red.

Features:
	•	Real-time heart rate and RR interval tracking with most BLE chest-strap monitors (smartwatches and wrist devices not supported)
	•	Continuous background heart rate collection—even with the screen off
	•	Automatic reconnection to your last paired device, with alerts if the connection drops
	•	Full connection event logging for reliable monitoring
	•	Customizable high heart rate alerts
	•	Seamless data sync with Apple Health

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 25 — 2026-08-10

Stabilized real-time heart rate display with one-second updates
Improved filtering of invalid readings and sudden heart rate spikes
Enhanced Bluetooth monitor selection, connection status, and automatic reconnection
Added workout duration and Zone 1–4 time tracking
Maintained heart rate monitoring in PiP and background modes
Improved graph and analysis screen readability
Added age-based or manual maximum heart rate and zone settings
Added on-device workout storage, backup, restore, and deletion features

### 24 — 2026-05-29

■ Major Performance Improvements

- Faster graph rendering
Heart rate graphs now display significantly faster and
more smoothly. Hundreds of individual graph elements
have been replaced with a single high-performance
  rendering pipeline.

- Instant date selection
Selecting a date now loads data immediately.
A pre-built date index enables near-instant data lookup.

- Reduced battery consumption and heat
Optimized graph refresh intervals reduce unnecessary
computation, resulting in less device heat during
  extended use.

- Improved app stability
File save and load operations now run in the background,
eliminating UI freezes. Internal code structure has been
  refactored for overall reliability.

### 23 — 2026-02-01

1.	Improved readability in Dark Mode
Enhanced color contrast and visual clarity to ensure better readability of text and UI elements in Dark Mode.
2.	Custom maximum heart rate setting
The maximum heart rate is now calculated based on age by default, with an option for users to manually set their own maximum heart rate if desired.
3.	Optimized event view for better performance
To reduce system load and improve responsiveness, the event view now displays data on a per-day basis only.

### 4.0 — 2025-08-27

•	PiP Mode Support: You can view your real-time heart rate while using other apps.
	•	Workout Time Tracking: The app records its start time, so if you launch it at the beginning of your workout, you can easily track your exercise duration.

### 3.0 — 2025-08-04

By entering your age, your personal maximum heart rate (MaxHR) will be calculated automatically.
The 60–80% range of your MaxHR is recommended as the ideal zone for aerobic exercise.
