## Most critical reviews (4 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Connectivity

*2025-05-27*

I have the app on iPhone to most updated version. Wore Apple Watch while on elliptical. The zone completed shows up only in the Apple Fitness app under heart rate but doesn’t show up on Heart Rate Zones Plus app. Why?

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Can you check please if the app has permissions to access all your workout / health data. You can do this in Settings > Health > Data Access > Heart Rate Zones +

If this does not help it’s probably because you are way more fit than the 220 - age method to calculate the zones predict. You can go to settings in the app and adapt the zones with the same bpm zone bounds as in apples workout app to get the same zone settings.

Hope this helps

### 3/5 — No clue what “19/10 min” means

*2025-05-02*

Honestly, thought for a while but just don’t get it.

**Developer response:** Hi thanks for your feedback. 19/10 means you reached 19 minutes in a zone, where the goal of that zone was set to 10 minutes. With the next update of the app i will add an explainer and maybe also guide the user more into setting goals. In the current setup the goals are predefined to give users something to start with

### 4/5 — Cool idea but still a lil rough

*2026-01-12*

Needs some design/ux hard to use in some places, also should be able to make custom goals, I want 6 hours a week in zones 2-3 but cant currently do this, minutes in moderate exercise goal counts zone 1. Also for goals you should supports hours not just minutes. And custom goals should let you specify HR range for the goal. Also only using colors for HR zone charts is hard to read for people with color blindness issues.

### 5/5 — Good visualization!

This app gives me the visualization that Apple should have built into the Health app itself. Basically it shows me the number of minutes I have spent at each heart rate zones compared to the goal.

The latest update adds the ability to customize the max heart rate, which is sorely needed. I never trusted the 220-age formula anyways; I'd rather go for a run at maximum speed and measure the heart rate there. I also recommend playing around with the settings, e.g. for me the Karvonen method gives much better results than the default.

If the developer is inclined I think having a companion Apple Watch app in the future would be a great addition. Sometimes I just don't bring my phone to the gym.

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot for that feedback. Both Widgets and Apple Watch app are on my list for future versions. I'm currently collecting a lot of ideas from users, so I sadly cannot promise which features will be next.
