## What is Heart_Rhythm?

This App is useful to know of your stroke risk, by recording of your heart rhythm on the graph.

With our passion that we want to reduce cardiogenic cerebral embolism (CCE) as many as possible, we developed this app.

The major cause of CCE is atrial fibrillation (Af). There are the established means of prevention and care before CCE onset.

However, the problem is that Af is often without symptoms or a little symptom; therefore, few patients undergoes appropriate treatment.
We wish more and more patients with Af are undergoing appropriate treatment as many as possible with the use of this app.

How to use this App.
*Record your heart rhythm by iPhone camera and check your stroke risk.

Please place your tip of index or middle finger on the camera lens.
Keep your fingertips relax and not to move while monitoring heart rhythm.
Screen shot of your heart rhythm is taken when the heart rhythm graph is stabilized,
and you can check of your stroke risk by comparing your pulse record against
　irregular pulse record.

If irregular intervals were observed, please consult with a primary-care doctor.
Normal pulse ( called sinus rhythm ) is made by regular contraction of heart.
In contrast, arrhythmia cased by atrial fibrillation (AF) is made by irregular contraction
　of heart.

*Know the mechanism of the Stroke and calculate the risk for an onset of Stroke.

Atrial fibrillation (Af) is a very common arrhythmia. Prevalence of Af is increasing as aging.
This is reported that some 50s may have Af, 10 percent of 80s have Af.

Af promotes blood clotting ( thrombus ) in heart.
Thrombus in heart sometimes blocks suddenly cerebrovascular on blood flow.
This is called the cardiogenic cerebral embolism (CCE).
CCE is one type of severe stroke that has high fatality rate. If survival, CCE patient
　often has serious sequela.

Af is the most critical risk of CCE. Fortunately, now we have established means of
prevention and cure of Af and CCE if finding Af before the onset.
Prevention is better than cure. The most important thing is early diagnosis and early
　consult to the appropriate hospital.

Calculate the risk using CHA2DS2-VASc Score, and you will know your annual risk rate
and lifetime risk rate of developing CCE..

### 1/5 — Was great

*2025-11-09, version 4.3*

Hi thankyou for this free app ive used for 10years and it used to work fantastically on previous iphones but not working on my iphone 11 latest update

### 1/5 — Does not work with iPhone 14 Pro

*2023-10-19, version 4.1*

Worked with the SE and 7+, no go with the 14 Pro.

### 1/5 — Heart rhythm

*2023-09-02, version 4.1*

doesn’t work properly can’t save heart beat trace. Heart pulse may be accurate but it didn’t match my Fitbit pulse . Other data entry menus are blocked by menus asking for data. Poor design,

### 5/5 — Simple and accurate

*2023-06-16, version 4.1*

This app picked up my AF before I got to the hospital, recommended by my cardiologist

### 1/5 — Not detecting afib

*2022-08-17, version 4.1*

I tried numerous times to check my heart rhythm and it was unable to detect I was in afib. Had to use a different device to find out.

### 1/5 — Useless app

*2021-04-12, version 3.1*

It keeps asking me to place my finger over the back camera and flashlight but the iPhone 12 has 3 different back cameras and tried them all but can’t get any reading. Not a user friendly app

### 1/5 — Heart rhythm and rate

*2021-01-15, version 3.1*

There’s no way my heart rhythm is ventricular tachycardia if my heart rate is 65! And the sample given is NOT a normal sinus rhythm looks more like a Ventricular tachycardia LOL

### 1/5 — Glitches in App

*2020-12-09, version 3.1*

Unable to see the full checklist for Stroke Risk. Some questions are covered by the “know your risk” button. This feature in the App cannot be used.

App layout needs to be improved and updated.

### 5/5 — Excellent tool

*2020-06-15, version 3.1*

This app is an excellent tool. It has already alerted me twice to AF problems. Even my Cardiologist (a Professor at Sydney University, Australia) is impressed. Don’t ignore what your heart is telling you!
Well done and thank you to the developers.

### 4/5 — Basic but good recording

*2020-05-30, version 2.8*

I’ve been trying to find an app that captures a short time line of my heart rate, so I can see AF, this app captures 10 seconds which is still better than most.

## Frequently asked questions about Heart_Rhythm

### What does this app do?

This app helps you monitor your heart rhythm using your iPhone's camera. By recording your pulse, it can help you identify potential signs of atrial fibrillation (Afib), a common cause of stroke. It then calculates your stroke risk based on established scoring systems and can show you nearby hospitals.

### How do I use the app to check my heart rhythm?

To use the app, place the tip of your index or middle finger on your iPhone's camera lens, ensuring your fingertip is relaxed and still. The app will monitor your heart rhythm and take a screenshot when the graph stabilizes. You can then compare your pulse record to identify irregularities.

### What is the main benefit of using this app?

The primary benefit is to help users proactively identify potential atrial fibrillation, which is a significant risk factor for stroke. Early detection through this app can prompt users to consult with a doctor, leading to timely treatment and potentially preventing serious health events like cardiogenic cerebral embolism.

## Version history (last 5 releases)
