### 2/5 — Terrible

*2024-03-21, version 6.9*

This app constantly freezes up and does not update! I have no idea what my numbers look like. Complete waste of time. 😩

### 2/5 — Not very functional

*2024-03-19, version 6.9*

Every year I struggle with using the App and especially connecting it to Facebook. You need to make it more seamless.

### 3/5 — Gets stuck, doesn’t refresh

*2022-10-11, version 6.8*

Nice app when it works. Doesn’t work well with the Fitbit app.

### 3/5 — iHealth connection

*2021-10-20, version 6.6*

It doesn’t link some of my workouts. I only found that the “other” workout actually records.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2021-09-05, version 6.6*

Slow and clunky all around.

Requires your password each time you open the application and it takes several screen taps to get the on screen keyboard to pop up so you can actually input your password.

### 3/5 — Missing information

*2021-08-12, version 6.6*

My app does not show the activity icon. I have connected my Apple health & there is no activity showing. I want to participate. Is anyone else having issues?

### 1/5 — Too bad - a good cause.

*2021-07-07, version 6.6*

It never remembers my password, even though I have it set to remember. My whole team is having the same problem. Also, it’s supposed to have the step tracker, but it doesn’t - even though I’m told I’m supposed to update the app. It says there’s no née update. Ugghhh.

### 1/5 — Good cause, Bad App

*2021-06-01, version 6.6*

Why does this app need 100% of my health data when I’m only walking? Why does it want location 100% of the time, and repeatedly requests that, even though I only care about it tracking walks? Why do I need to re-enter my password even though I clicked “remember me,” and why isn’t biometric unlock an option? I downloaded this app to be part of a work event and ironically it’s easier to use if you just install it before the event and delete it after, then to leave it installed and creeping on you.

Edit in response to the “developer reply” to this review: I outlined why your app is missing above as have many other reviewers, it’s silly to ask me to contact you further.

**Developer response:** Thank you for supporting Heart Walk and the American Heart Association. We appreciate your review! please contact us at bfsupport@charitydynamics.com so we can address these issues and the functionality of the app. Thank you!

### 1/5 — The app shouldn’t time out

*2021-05-08, version 6.6*

I haven’t had this app for long, I downloaded it for the 2021 Heart Walk, but so far, it leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t feel there’s really any information on there to keep secure, so I don’t know why you ever need to be signed out. I’ve tried to track activity in real time twice, but the app times out and just erases your time.
Fortunately, I had tracked my activity in other ways and could enter it manually, but so far, my intention is to delete it as soon as the Heart Walk is done.
In general, logging in each time to use the app is annoying and seems totally unnecessary.

### 1/5 — App is not able to pull active minutes from apple health

*2021-04-25, version 6.6*

Heartwalk app is not able to pull data from apple health which i think defeats the purpose of the heartwalk as everyone using apple are being forced to log active minutes manually

### 1/5 — Donation

*2021-03-11, version 6.6*

I accidentally donated 250 here on this app. I gave donation to Kai Cullings team. Please remove my $250. Ty Mel

### 3/5 — Can’t Log In

*2020-12-23, version 6.3*

The app remembers my login, however, I keep getting a message that says that I’m not registered for any events. I am registered. After the message, the app won’t open.

### 2/5 — Nothing but troubles

*2020-12-09, version 6.3*

I am the team captain again this year for the 2021 Heart Walk. Since launching our fundraiser, we’ve had nothing but trouble with this App. My team members have not been able to link to their FB page after joining our team, it states the App is still in development mode and they do not have access to it.
In addition, the App frequently stalls, you get a blank screen and you are unable to access any Information requiring you to turn your phone off and back on.
There are multiple delays in connectivity and it is slow to respond as well.
Certainly not user friendly like the App was last year to use. Very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Activate button

*2020-11-15, version 6.3*

I don’t have an active button? Can u help me

### 3/5 — Good cause with a glitchy app.

*2020-10-09, version 6.3*

First thing, the app never remembers my login information. I find myself having to login multiple times through out the day, even though I selected to remember me. Second thing, I set up my heart walk app to sync with my health app and somehow I get completely different numbers for my steps? Today I walked 5,876 steps and when I checked my heart walk app it said I only walked 1,285. That’s a huge difference and I find it extremely frustrating. So next I tried to add the steps the app missed manually and every time I try the app does not process. If I click the X in the top right or cancel, the system processes immediately.

I’m happy to walk for the cause, I just wish the world could see my correct step count.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2026-03-31, version 8.4*

Frustrating! I used to be able to send out group emails, but that’s all gone away. It seems the new website requires me to send out one email at a time which is time consuming & backwards from the old way. It is much harder for me to raise funds. Why not make it easier?

### 1/5 — App closes within seconds

*2025-03-25, version 8.0*

Every time I open the app, it closes within a few seconds. That’s the reason for 1 star. Have never seen an app with this behavior.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2023-09-23, version 6.8*

Buttons don’t work, won’t integrate with Apple health. Clunky

### 1/5 — App stinks

*2023-09-09, version 6.8*

App keeps glitching and have to unload and reload losing all my steps PU

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2023-08-24, version 6.8*

App doesn’t remember login credentials and it freezes up often.

### 1/5 — Not easily navigable

*2023-04-19, version 6.8*

Just want to post to FB. Hardship to figure out

### 1/5 — Major Disappointment

*2022-12-21, version 6.8*

This app has been a major disappointment since I started using it over two years ago. The app loads okay, but then freezes if you return to use it a second time; you have to delete and reinstall. The logon credentials are not retained, and the facial recognition has never worked.

As one who has co-chaired a American Heart Association event (Lawyers Have Heart) for several years, I would have taken advantage of a decent app but unfortunately have been unable to.

### 1/5 — Feedback App vs Online

*2022-09-19, version 6.8*

Password never remembers.
We have to put our location as always vs when using the app to use the app tracker is you do not have a smart watch the app decided to sync with.
Online I can share on my Facebook, which we should be able to on the IG platform as well. I can share to my Linkin online but not the app.
It’s frustration that’s it’s discouraging to have teammates rejoin.

### 1/5 — Stop sending Survey

*2022-08-29, version 6.8*

Thx.

### 1/5 — Just awful

*2022-04-27, version 6.8*

Where to begin? Does not keep me logged in. Does not stay synched with Apple Health, need to resynch data manually every day. Asks me every day if I want to connect to Apple Health, just like yesterday and the day before and the day before that. Forget your password? Good luck clicking the Forgot Password button, the emails never arrive ( and no, they're not in my spam folder). I'm glad there's only one Heart Walk per year. And before you ask, I won't be contacting you too explain whatever issues I might be experiencing. It's all in this review.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Heart Mini

*2024-02-20, version 6.9*

Every Day is a new opportunity to protect your heart and help raise Funds to support the fight for others

### 5/5 — Communication

*2022-05-04, version 6.8*

WORSE Communication access in the 27 yrs I’ve participated

### 5/5 — App crashes after trying to log in.

*2016-03-08, version 3.6*

The app keeps crashing every time after trying to login!

### 5/5 — Walk for Life

*2016-02-19, version 3.6*

Amazing way to spread the word

### 5/5 — This app works very well.

*2016-01-27, version 3.6*

I am very satisfied with this App. I do not have any of the issues discussed by other users and find it intuitive any very easy to navigate. It has not crashed; provides immediate donation information; and easy to use.

Where is does provide social media notifications, I believe it should narrow the method, rather than in a full-blown broadcast. For FB users for example, allow for FM Messenger to be used allowing a select list of FB friends.

### 5/5 — Great Fundraising App!

*2014-08-26, version 2.76.1*

So easy to use, and so user friendly! Very helpful to spread the word about the Heart Walk!

### 5/5 — Very good but room for improvement

*2013-08-22, version 2.68*

The app should help team captains manage their teams and view team progress.

This app is unexpectedly powerful.
