### 3/5 — App Experience

*2020-09-23, version 2.2.25*

I was attempting to use this app for a fitness class I teach. The information that I have input for my age keeps reverting back to a default age. After the workout, it states it stores my workouts, however I am unable to locate them. Every time I exit the app and return I have to re-sync the heart rate monitor.

I really like the features of the app when in use. However it is frustrating that none of the information is accessible and the process of re-syncing is time consuming and ineffective for use during my class.

### 3/5 — Ok but could do with improvement

*2020-05-21*

I find the app really useful, however, the height setting is obviously for people of a diminished stature as you can only go up to 95cm!!
Is there a way to stop the screen timing out when the app is running as it’s really annoying to keep tapping the screen

### 2/5 — Hard to read

*2020-04-15, version 2.1.23*

The latest version of the app changed the text color to red on a black background. This makes it impossible to read the current heart rate from more than a couple of feet away. So trying to monitor your heart rate while riding a stationary bike is impossible.

### 2/5 — Poorly managed

*2020-04-05, version 2.1.22*

I had many workouts saved and all of a sudden the app changed - today 4/4/2020. All my data gone! I had to reestablish my personal info (ht, etc, etc) but still cannot sync app to my heart rate monitor! What the hell happened! Updates should not do this!!

### 3/5 — Lost history with latest update!

*2020-04-02, version 2.1.22*

I’ve been usIng this app for several years and really like it. I just did the latest update and now all my history is gone. It would have been nice to get a heads up that this would happen.

### 5/5 — Works Well

*2019-12-19, version 2.1.21*

I use this app to track the intensity of my workouts. I had no trouble syncing my heart rate monitor to it and it lets me see my heart rate zone in real-time. Overall, I am really pleased with it.

### 5/5 — Good App

*2019-07-09, version 2.1.21*

Love the graphics. Easy to know exactly what zone you in while exercising. Nice to be able to customize your zones. The FIT points are a interesting feature to summarize how hard you worked.

It would be nice to have weekly summaries and the ability to export your data.

### 5/5 — Heart Zones invented Zone Training and Patented it

*2019-01-11, version 2.1.21*

So easy to use. I like choosing the zone system between Max, ZONING , or patented Threshold zones. This app has several purposes. Awesome useful data. Physical literacy. Method. Motivational. 40 years of development and sharing all free for you.

### 3/5 — Great if it worked

*2018-10-29, version 2.1.19*

If the following were fixed this would get 5 stars:

1. It doesn’t display the latest workout in “history”. Selecting the info button under “home” always shows a workout count one more than the number in “history “.

2. When you try to delete a workout from the “history” it randomly chooses a workout to delete, not the one you selected.

3. There is no help, no user guide.

4. Why is there a lap counter button that does nothing useful and is nowhere explained?

5. It would be nice to have a measure of heart rate decline during the first minute after you end a workout.

By the way, I used this app with a Polar H10 on an iPhone SE running ios 12.01.

### 3/5 — History slow

*2018-10-28, version 2.1.19*

My workouts take days before they show up in app, kinda annoying. Otherwise nice app

### 2/5 — Lots of challenges

*2018-10-11, version 2.1.19*

I’ve used this for two years and have had multiple issues. Sometimes it won’t read the sensor. Most recently the app is not recording and storing my data; when going to History, it is blank. Customer Service had restart phone, still same issues. Then they had me uninstall and reinstall the app, not only am I having the exact same issues, all previous data has been lost as well.
It does not sync with my Garmin watch it Garmin app, so that is another negative.
Considering moving on to a different product.

### 5/5 — Amazing product and company!

*2018-07-02, version 2.1.16*

I’ve been so impressed with the Heart Zones company and their products, especially their software! I use the Blink Armband personally and with my PE students.

### 5/5 — Florida triathlete love this app

*2018-05-13, version 2.1.16*

I use my Blink Armband with HeartZones® training app for every workout and I just joined OrangeTheory fitness and they won’t let me use it so I decided to use it anyway I recommend the same for everyone.

### 2/5 — Wanted to use it

*2018-01-11, version 2.1.16*

I really like the design of the app and the support for multiple zones but I cant use it. It cannot find my Polar H10 even though 10 other apps have had no problem finding it. I also could not find any health app integation a must have feature.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-01-04, version 2.2.30*

App doesn’t connect to apple watch. All the positive reviews appear to have been written by bots, don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — App would be great if it actually worked

*2021-07-21*

The app won’t connect to my HR strap and then when it does and I start the workout the app crashes. Tried to reach out to support but got donuts. Don’t waste your time unless they’re willing to do some serious work to this App.

### 1/5 — RJW-KT

*2020-05-21, version 2.1.23*

Ditto the 5/13 reviewer. Only one star because there is no “0” available. Wonderful product used for 3 years now turned to absolute rubbish.

### 1/5 — If you’re a software developer working on this plz change it back

*2020-05-14, version 2.1.23*

I’ve never written a review for an app before but the new changes render this app borderline unusable. I used heart zones app for two years with no issues. I’ll start with the biggest problems.

I like to see my heart rate on my phone using the app while I’m running. No brainer, right? They made the HR number much smaller and it’s now a red color instead of white so it’s almost impossible to see if you’re outside.

Also noticed calories burned is now way off. Upon entering height data it says height can’t be less than 18 inches or greater than 37 inches. Have I lost my mind or did we all become workout dwarves?

The UI overall is much worse, data is presented less clearly, and calorie is spelled “calory” which makes me sad.

Please, if you’re a developer and you’re reading this, fix this app. It used to be quite nice, and now it’s just ghastly.

If fixed I’ll happily take down this one star review and put up a five star review.

God speed

### 1/5 — Best heart rate monitoring app available

*2020-04-04, version 2.1.22*

I know longer recommend this app. The old version was perfect. You could easily read your heart rate, avg heart rate, and elapse time. I have used it for two years and loved it. I can no long use it since I can no longer read those metrics while running. The font is too small. Don’t know why they changed a great app.

### 1/5 — No zones on Apple Watch

*2019-05-03*

Although the app on the iPhone allows you to set up and see your zones while working out, I wanted to see them on the Apple Watch. The only thing it gives you on the watch is your heart rate.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Keiser M3i

*2017-11-30, version 2.1.12*

Despite multiple emails with customer service, I have never been able to connect this app to my Keiser M3i. I really like its features, so wish this app would be fixed.

### 1/5 — Wish it worked

*2015-12-17, version 2.0.1*

If it isn't shutting down it isn't finding my heart rate monitor. Lose-lose.

### 1/5 — Latest update

*2015-10-08, version 2.0.0*

This app no longer works with the last update from Apple. Repeated contacts with the App IT have not resolved the problems. It worked very well until the update but it's now useless

### 1/5 — Crash connecting to scoche blink

*2015-09-22, version 1.0*

Just received my blink. Tried to connect to Blink with BTLE and it sees monitor but when click on device app crashes immediately.
