### 2/5 — App crash in the middle of workout when the Sleep Schedule of Health kicked in.

*2025-04-17, version 2.2.3*

App halted counting time and then crashed in the middle of workout when the Sleep Schedule of Health kicked in. Although the data was written back to the Fitness app, I had to start the app again to and start a new workout to continue recording my session.

### 3/5 — Duplicate workouts

*2025-01-03, version 2.2.2*

Creates duplicate workouts every time in apple fitness. App on watch also laggy sometimes and buttons don’t work.

### 2/5 — Asks for Apple Health permissions every time. Not usable any more.

*2024-12-16, version 2.2.2*

Since a couple of weeks (maybe Watch OS11?), on starting the watch app it asks for Apple Health permissions, twice! Then when the app is stopped and started next time it always asks again (twice).
In Apple health on the iPhone no matter how many times you give permission to read and write heart rate data it toggles the permissions off again when using the watch app.

### 2/5 — Counts Double Workouts

*2024-05-08, version 2.1.2*

I downloaded this app because I added the Runn treadmill sensor to my treadmill. Since Apple workout won’t read the data from Runn, I used this app on my Apple Watch to record my workout. It reads all the data correctly from the Runn and uses my heart rate from the Watch. The problem? After the workout is complete, it records double the miles I actually ran in Apple Fitness. North Pole support says it’s a bug that will be fixed in the next version. Been waiting since mid February. If they can fix this bug, I’ll give it 5 stars. Does everything I want…except the double counting.
I know the Runn is outputting correct data because I can use it with the Kinomap app and it does not count double mileage.

### 4/5 — Works but initial connection can be flaky

*2024-04-24, version 2.1.2*

The app works well on the watch once connected to Wyur. However I find I need to shutdown the app on the watch after each use otherwise it will not reconnect on next use. Going into app history on the mobile and closing it so that it starts fresh again solves the connnection issues but it is a very annoying extra step that should not be required. If this issue was fixed I would give it 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Full of bugs

*2024-02-05, version 2.1.2*

Ok, this app does transmit HR from Apple Watch to Zwift via the Runn sensor. That is the end of the good news.

Recording workouts with npe Runn does not work. You cannot swipe for different metrics to show, you need to use the crown. Time and BPM are always there. The timer is not the time elapsed since the start of the run, maybe since the last software restart instead. The distance written to Apple Health is about double (in my case), maybe the last two runs, what do I know. In short - you cannot use it to track runs with Apple Watch and the Runn sensor. Saving the workout requires luck, apparently as the save button does not work reliably. Disappointed.

### 2/5 — What happened?!!!

*2023-04-02, version 2.0*

I used to be able to connect all the time and all the sudden with Heartbeatz 2.0 I can’t get my Heartbeatz device to connect to my phone or my watch! Very frustrating!

### 1/5 — Update is crap

*2023-02-14, version 2.0*

With the new update the watch's functionality to "Start workout" disappeared. Thus the App needs to stay in foreground to broadcast the heart rate. You cannot start any other app, including the watch workout app, to log your workout. So, either you broadcast HR - or - you track your workout. You cannot do both, anymore. I have no benefits when using the app.

### 1/5 — No longer works with my peloton

*2023-02-07, version 2.0*

I’ve been inactive for a while. Used this yesterday and it worked fine. It did a software update on my Apple Watch, now it no longer connects in conjunction with the ant/ Bluetooth device that’s needed.

### 1/5 — Cannot have two pods listed on the app

*2023-02-03, version 2.0*

Works okay so go a second pod. Seem I need to delete one so the other is connected. Wasted money!

### 2/5 — Missing important metrics

*2023-01-24, version 2.0*

No speed, cadence, incline, etc?? Then what’s the point? I can just tell my watch to record an indoor walk/run. The whole purpose of having this app connected to my Runn device is to record all aspects of my treadmill workout. I only see the ability to record a “cardio” or “hitt” workout, no runs or anything else.

### 1/5 — Most recent update is a total fail.

*2023-01-22, version 2.0*

The recent update removed the ability to record a walk or run- just cardio and HIIT. The only reason I use this app is to connect the RUNN I have to my watch, and this update has rendered it completely useless. The developers said they’d be fixing this issue weeks ago and still nothing.

### 1/5 — Where’s distance metrics?

*2023-01-19, version 2.0*

A week ago it was working great. Now it seems I have 2 choices of workouts , cardio and HIT. The cardio has no distance or pace metric from my Runn device. That is literally this apps only job is to bring data from my RUNN to the workout app. It looks like the legacy Heartbeatz might still work for this, but I shouldn’t need that version with an Apple Watch ultra. Useless in its current version, it wasn’t broke, but now is. Please bring back the distance and pace for RUNN with treadmill!!!

### 3/5 — Not working as it did before

*2023-01-11, version 2.0*

With the update to version 2 it now takes longer to pair it. Before it allowed me to choose the type of workout. All you get now is Cardio or HITT. No choice of activity, indoor run, etc!! It just worked before.

### 1/5 — Apple Watch complication removed

*2023-01-06, version 2.0*

Just updated the app to version 2. What happened to the Apple watch complication? Looks like it’s been removed? Would you add it back please?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2025-04-30, version 2.2.3*

Rubbish. Doesn't actually do ANYTHING?

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-01-27, version 2.2.2*

Does not connect to iPhone so you can’t record workouts

### 1/5 — Unusable app since last update

*2024-12-01, version 2.2.2*

Doesn’t work any more since last update… I’ve bought my WYUR more than 100€ only three months ago. I’m very upset!

### 1/5 — Apple Watch not supported

*2024-10-01, version 2.2.0*

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17 and an Apple Watch Ultra 2. Heartbeatz connect can’t find the Runn. If I didn’t have an old Garmin watch to pair, the Runn would be mostly useless. Such a shame

### 1/5 — So buggy it doesn’t work

*2024-09-16, version 2.2.0*

The duration shown on the Apple Watch does not reset from workout to workout - it just keeps running. So, a two hour walk this morning was recorded by the app as over 7 hours long! This also resulted in incorrect distance walked since the app calculates distance by multiplying duration and speed. So a 6km walk was recorded as over 20km!!

Secondly, the app writes data to Apple Health 10 times every second with most entries recorded at 0m distance travelled. Very wasteful consuming unnecessary space in the Apple Health database.

I have reported this to the developers and hope that a fix is released soon.

### 1/5 — Can’t remove writing on iPhone

*2024-08-30, version 2.1.3*

I use the app to connect my Apple Watch to my garmin edge bike computer but I can’t disable the writing from the heartbeatz app to apple health. So I have all my activities twice. One from garmin and one from heartbeatz. As soon as I only allow heartbeatz to read from apple health, it doesn’t work anymore and the app and Apple Watch are unable to show heart rate.

### 1/5 — Watch battery drain

*2024-06-04, version 2.1.2*

Kills the watch battery even when not running.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-03-05, version 2.1.2*

I started my run today, and it immediately jumped to three minutes from zero. It also doubled my running distance. This isn't ideal for tracking my fitness.

### 1/5 — Where did it go wrong!?

*2023-08-14, version 2.0.2*

Used this for my Apple Watch to record treadmill runs with a Runn. The previous version wasn’t great but it did the job. Due to illness, I’ve not used it for a while and it updated to this version. The past few times I’ve used it, by the end of my run, I’ve apparently run ‘minus’ XX-km! How can it even record a negative distance!? This time (prompting me to write a review!) the device connected, I started a new run and the timer was already up at over 10 minutes. Restarted the app and again, the same 10+ mins appears on the clock! I’ve just uninstalled and reinstalled, so hope that fixes it, but that shouldn’t be required!

### 1/5 — It works well but the business model is rotten

*2023-07-13, version 2.0.2*

So you spend £60 on a very simple BLE to ANT+ converter… and then you have to subscribe to keep the thing working to use it with anything other than NPE devices. I am not even sure NPE make any other devices!

This device has one purpose and an app that sends one number out using the simplest protocol known to man (ANT+).

And you have to subscribe. It’s outrageous.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great with my Apple Watch 7

*2024-02-23, version 2.1.2*

I’ve been using this app for some time now with the WYUR to connect my Apple Watch heartrate to my Garmin Edge and Zwift (via the Wahoo Rollr smart trainer). Its been faultless. Also I was very pleased to see the ability to add Heartbeatz as a complication on my watch a while back, as that makes starting up so easy. NPE support has been excellent as well, when I found it hard to locate a UK source of the WYUR (you can get it on Amazon now though).

### 5/5 — Been using it for two years….

*2023-10-06, version 2.1.1*

….. without an issue. Does what it says. I use it as my HRM while cycling.

### 5/5 — Perfectly fine for the intended goal

*2023-02-14, version 2.0*

Works as expected, only way to track my HR and do a rowing workout. Using ergrower + asensei or EXR, all without problems to find my HR back on the rower and the according apps.

It would be a nice to have to add the type of workout (not just HIIT or cardio, but also rowing, biking or running)

### 5/5 — Bien

*2022-11-17, version 1.2.3*

Es sencillo, tarda al principio pero tener paciencia que al final se conecta. Lo que debería mejorar es el sensor de medir el ritmo cardiaco del Apple Watch, tengo el Ultra y no va muy fino.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-11-08, version 1.2.3*

Once you get it dialed in this works perfectly. I’m using a Series 6 Apple Watch. The key for this watch was that you have to close all the other apps on the watch that might be using the heart rate. Easy to do - just press the button below the knob and then swipe each app left to close. After that it pairs right away and works. This doesn’t change any of the baseline function of the watch. Only feature request would be to change the watch faces. I’d like elapsed time, distance, pace on one screen. Can’t seem to get that now.

### 5/5 — Super

*2022-07-24, version 1.2.3*

Funktioniert einwandfrei. Habe jetzt den Puls von der Apple Watch auf meinem Garmin Edge Radcomputer

### 5/5 — Works great but small issue with last update

*2022-01-01, version 1.2.3*

The app is easy and works great. Since the last update, discarding a workout from Apple Watch no longer works. I need to go into the fitness app on my phone to discard manually.

### 5/5 — Top

*2021-10-09, version 1.2.2*

Tut was es soll und belastet den Akku der iWatch kaum… nach 3 Stunden Training mit HF Messung noch 67%

### 5/5 — Works really good, responsive support

*2021-08-13, version 1.2.2*

There are 2 company that make a similar product to this. I contacted both. That one replied within 24 hours with detailed answer to my question. The other didn’t even reply. So their customer service seems good so I ordered from them.

I got it, and so far so good. Working every time. No need to reboot this, disconnect or anything like other apps, it just works flawlessly each time. I’m using it with my Wahoo Roam bike computer.

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2021-06-07, version 1.2.2*

So great to be able to use my Apple Watch with my profit treadmill. I use IFit and I am able to utilize the active pulse feature. You need to be sure to have your watch, phone, and dongle all connected prior to beginning the workout. It will also record in Apple Health. Only critique is it would be nice to have a compilation but... if it had a compilation that is probably just one more thing that could break or freeze things up!

I have used for two weeks now and only had it bug out one time when I did not connect and start everything prior to starting workout.
