## What is Hearth?

Hearth keeps track of shared bills so you and the people you live with always know who owes what.

Add your bills once and Hearth does the math. You get a running total of what you owe, what's coming up, and anything overdue, all on one screen. No more group texts trying to figure out if rent got covered this month.

SPLIT BILLS WITH YOUR PEOPLE
Create a group for your household, your partner, or a trip with friends. Split a bill evenly or set custom amounts per person. Assign a bill to one person when it's their turn to cover it. Everyone in the group sees the same numbers.

STAY ON TOP OF DUE DATES
Set bills to repeat weekly, monthly, or on your own schedule. Get a reminder before a bill is due, at the time of day you choose. Add any bill to your Apple Calendar, or see everything laid out in the built in calendar.

KNOW WHAT'S LEFT
Add your income and Hearth shows you what's left after the bills are covered. Save your payment handles like Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, and Apple Cash so settling up is quick.

A NOTIFICATIONS TAB THAT KEEPS YOU POSTED
See when someone adds a bill, pays their share, joins a group, or sends you a friend request, all in one place with a badge when something needs you. Reminders stop once you've paid, so you're never nagged about something you already handled.

LOOKS RIGHT DAY OR NIGHT
Full dark mode and light mode support. Every screen is built for both.

HEARTH PRO
Free accounts include one group and up to five bills, which is plenty for a simple setup. Upgrade to Pro once for unlimited groups and bills, home screen and lock screen widgets, and iCloud backup. One payment, no subscription.

Built by one person who wanted a better way to track bills.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-08-19

What’s new -

A brand new look. Hearth has a new icon!
Your own categories. Make a category with any icon and color you like, and use it just like the built-in ones.

Partial payments now show up everywhere. When you pay part of a bill the amount on your Home screen drops to what's actually left and everyone in the group sees it too.

Payment receipts. Every payment you make now shows in Notifications, so you can always check that it went through.

Left after bills moved to Your Stats, next to the rest of your
numbers.

More color control. Pick colors for the Your Stats tiles too, and choose whether tiles keep their color when they're empty.

### 2.0.3 — 2026-08-11

What's New in Hearth 2.0
Pay in parts
Bills no longer have to be all-or-nothing. Put $200 toward your $500 share now and the rest later. Hearth tracks the balance, shows a partially filled ring on the bill, and only marks you settled when it's actually covered. Reminders and totals reflect what you still owe, not what you originally owed.

A rebuilt Home
Four tiles put the numbers that matter at the top: what you owe, what's overdue, what's due this week, and what you've spent this year. Overdue and Due This Week stay quiet until there's something in them, so color always means something needs your attention.

Make it yours
Choose the color of each Home tile from ten options in Customize Home, or turn cards off entirely and reorder what's left.

Search your bills
Find any bill by name, category, or group from the Bills tab.

Your Stats, properly
Switch between this month, this year, or all time. See your biggest category, your monthly average, and a full breakdown with proportion bars showing where the money actually goes.

Reminders you can trust
Hearth now schedules reminders within iOS's limits so none are silently dropped, tells you when notifications are switched off at the system level, and shows how many reminders your settings will actually send.

Cleaner everywhere
Every list in the app now shares one design - consistent rows, icons, spacing, and colors from Home through Settings. Groups get colorful icons, the calendar is a tap away from Home, and the bill screen is reorganized around one clear action.

Delete your history
Clear your payment log from Settings whenever you want, without touching your bills or groups.

### 1.5 — 2026-07-16

What’s new:

Hearth 1.5 is a big one.

• Auto Pay: flip it on for bills that pay themselves. Hearth reminds you before the charge, then checks the bill off automatically on the due date.
• App Lock: keep your bills private with Face ID or Touch ID.
• Friends level up: start a group right from your friends list, add friends to groups without invite codes, and get notified when someone adds you.
• Tapping any notification now takes you where it came from: bill reminders open the bill, friend requests open your friends list, group activity opens the group.
• New Pet category for your furry roommate's expenses.
• Smarter reminders that stay in sync across everyone's devices. No more outdated overdue alerts for a bill your roommate already handled.
• Lots of fixes: duplicate friends, lowercase invite codes, leaving a group now cleans up its bills, and every row responds wherever you tap it.
