There are other audiobook apps that allow you to have the soundtrack running in the background while you do other things like read email. I also wish the chapters were less costly. Come to find out I was charged FOUR times and never received any of what I was trying to purchase. The app didn’t send a single receipt. Not one email confirmation about the purchases actually going through and now I am struggling to get a refund. All these stories can also be found FOR FREE online. **Developer response:** We’re really sorry you had such a bad experience — that’s definitely not what we want for our readers. Thank you for letting us know, and again, we’re sorry for the trouble. ### 1/5 — Scam does not fulfill subscription *2025-12-11* I purchased a subscription and although I have screenshots proving the purchase and a screenshot that says I have a subscription, not one chapter will unlock. I have emailed several times and I have gone to their Facebook and they delete my post when I very politely request them to fix my account. I am now working with PayPal to get a refund. It’s really too bad because it looks like they have great stories but if you purchase a one year subscription, you should get at least a chapter to open up. **Developer response:** We understand how upsetting it is to make a purchase and not receive access as expected, and we appreciate you taking the time to report this to us. We’re continuing to improve our systems and support, and your input helps us do better. ### 1/5 — The War God Alpha’s Arranged Bride *2025-11-10, version 1.8.0* Charged my account but didn’t deliver my coins ### 1/5 — DO NOT PURCHASE IN APP *2025-11-07* The first purchase I made was fine, I got my coins and was not having any issues. Once my coins ran out I tried to purchase more and got an error message in the app. The transaction went through based on my Apple transaction log but I never got the coins. Then I tried to get the subscription and same thing happened, the app says the transaction failed but my Apple account shows an active subscription and I got a confirmation email for the transaction. I have reached out to Heartify support but based on previous reviews it appears they are not responsive so I guess my next step is disputing it with Apple. There is clearly an issue with the app that is not getting fixed so beware trying to purchase anything. **Developer response:** We truly understand how frustrating this situation must be. I’m having to dispute the purchase through PayPal now because I can’t get a response through email from this bunch!!!!! ### 1/5 — So expensive *2025-07-22* I can’t believe how much you end up paying for one book when you don’t want a subscription. I wanted to read one book and am not even half way through and already almost done with the 39.99 package, it’s crazy! Also, the audio is spotty in some parts ### 1/5 — Book Updates *2025-05-26* I’m not sure why but the author says updates are being uploaded to the book but they are not showing in the app. My book has been stuck on the last published chapter from three weeks ago dispute the fact that their FB update says the app is being updated.
