### 4/5 — More free games!

*2026-01-26, version 4.1.0*

I first played this a few years ago, mainly checking out all the free games. Every once in a while I pop back in to see any new games, and of course they all cost money. There’s nothing wrong with that of course, I’d just like more opportunities to play free games as the selection is already kinda limited. Please release something new and free soon, I think everyone will appreciate it🙏

### 4/5 — Enjoying The App!

*2024-09-13, version 3.1.2*

I really love the app and stories! It’d be even greater if there was a chapter restart option.

### 3/5 — Limiting, but Good Quality

*2024-07-18, version 3.1.2*

I love the concept of this app, but it's a shame that the stories aren't as inclusive as the Choice of Games counterpart. I'm surprised at the lack of choice of gender and sexuality in these stories, considering that a large portion of CoG stories contain a romantic element, and that you can usually play as any gender, and any sexuality that you like. It's a shame that they've created a series that is dedicated to the romance element, but made the choices more restrictive to people. From what I've seen, in most of the stories on the Heart's Choice app, you have to play as either male or female, and be straight or gay. And I don't mean you get those choices for each story. I mean you have to play as a straight female in one, and a gay male in another, etc. It would be nice to have the option to create the character that YOU want, for each of the stories, as the story concepts are very good, but they lack engagement if you aren't interested in the orientations on offer. It seems strange to me that they would take this step back, considering how many character options are available in the original Choice of Games series, and the romance has always been seriously HOT in those, so I don't see why they couldn't transfer those elements to the Heart's Choice app.
My other issue with the gameplay of this (and CoG) is that you really only have the option to do/say what you like in the first chapter, and from then on, you're limited to picking the "correct" answers, based on the choices you made in the first chapter. It's a shame that you can't play as a multi-faceted character because of this, and it makes the stories stressful, and the character of "yourself" less interesting. If you choose an option/answer that doesn't match the skills that correspond with the choices you made in chapter one, then something bad, and often humiliating, will nearly ALWAYS happen to your character, and who wants that? To make matters worse, you can't currently go back to the previous page, and change your choice, should you wish. You have to replay the whole chapter. It would be nice, for example, if we could create characters that generally use brains over brawn, but can still throw a punch when needed, or if the "muscle" characters didn't always have to use intimidation as the answer. It would also be nice to be able to develop your character. For instance, you could start off as a snob, but gradually become more laid back. Currently, if you start off as a snob, then you're a snob to the end, who will fall on their face if you try and be anything else. I would absolutely prefer that these games do away with the stat system altogether, so that we can just play through, without worrying about what the "right" and "wrong" choices are, throughout.

Apart from the above improvements that I would like to see happen, the stories are well developed and written, and I will often spend hours reading/playing at a time. I think the length of free content you get at the start of each story is fantastic - it gives you great opportunity to find out whether or not you want to invest money in the rest of the story, and it's long enough to really reel you in ;) The prices are very reasonable, too, I would say.

Best regards. 🙂👋

### 4/5 — Need New Stories

*2024-03-28, version 3.1.0*

Choice of Games app continually has new stories, but not this app. Which is a shame as the spicer stories deserve the same if not more recognition.

### 4/5 — More novels please!

*2023-11-27, version 2.6.7*

This is a really great game, but I was wondering if you could add more games where the character’s love interest isn’t a specific sex…? And also free, haha… I might sound a little shameless, but I hope you’ll accept my request.. thank you!

### 5/5 — Lots of fun stories

*2023-03-31, version 2.6.3*

I’ve been using this app for a while and I’ve found that many stories are great and inclusive from being able to choose your own characters identity and such along with other characters but that’s dependant of story, you can read through many stories with multiple choices and see outcomes, trying everything out feels fun and each time you re read a book you can get new outcomes which keeps each reading feel fresh. The stories are often in good length so they’re worthwhile, the prices are good for the content you get.

I think if you’re looking for a good story with multiple choices then you can definitely find that here.

### 5/5 — Heart Of Battle

*2023-01-22, version 2.6.0*

Amazing game with amazing replay ability, ROs, attention to detail in the spicier scenes based on our gender, different routes, fleshed out characters, a great plot, balance of sad, sweet, and satisfying. Heart of Battle is the one game I would purchase and play if none else. There’s few flaws and the things that are lovable about this game far outweigh them. It truly gripped me from start to purchase and is worth triple the asking price. I’ve almost never finished a Choice Game but this one got me to not only purchase because I couldn’t wait two hours to continue experiencing the amazing game, but also to reach to the very end. I’m sad it ended but so satisfied with everything about it. I sometimes get overwhelmed with these games and give up on them with no save option or guide, but it was amazing to just play. Great pace, great length, spicy scenes, romance, ending… I LOVED it. Need I say more? Buy the game!

### 5/5 — THE Choice-Based Romance Game

*2022-12-13, version 2.6.0*

I was a longtime player of games like Episode and Choices, but I got sick of the constant money-grubbing. I’m totally fine with offering monetary support to a game I love, but a lot of these apps were going overboard and ruining the experience. It started to feel like a nuanceless win/lose experience: pay money and get the good ending, play for free and get the bad ending. I deleted the apps in frustration, but I missed the game format.

Enter Heart’s Choice. I was initially drawn in by the game’s diverse array of MCs and love interests. I had never seen a “choose your story” app with nonbinary love interests, so I was excited! The more I got into the game, the more impressed I became. There are NO PAID CHOICES! The only in-app purchases are to remove ads and wait times between chapters. Being FtP is totally a viable option, as the chapters are long and the wait times are short compared to other CYS apps. However, I encourage you to purchase a story if you really enjoy it. There is definite replay value, and removing the wait times makes replaying multiple times much easier.

If I could make one suggestion, I’d like to have a brief description and/or tagging system that specifies the MC and love interest gender options in each story. That way, if I’m only interested in F/F romance, I don’t have to play through the first chapter of a story just to find out that it’s M/F. But that’s really just a minor inconvenience in an otherwise excellent game.

### 5/5 — Super fun and interesting!

*2022-12-09, version 2.5.8*

First of all, the idea of a interactive book is super unique. It surpassed my expectations and was so exciting to play. The characters are so adorable that it practically begs you to form a relationship with them!! I look forward to more stories.

### 5/5 — thank you for this game

*2022-11-25, version 2.5.8*

moree stories with fantasy background / enemy to lovers trope pls 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️i love all of them but my fav is freshman magic and heart of battle <3

### 4/5 — Good game, almost amazing!

*2022-10-26, version 2.5.6*

I purchased brimstone manor and I immediately liked the writing. The story definitely hooks you in and keeps you on your toes. The writing is much better than other text novels that I’ve tried in this same genre. My one disappointment is that the last two chapters of the story felt like the writer gave up. The ending was lackluster and the last two chapters felt so incomplete or almost lazily written that it did not do justice to the amazing first half of the story. If there had been as much attention and depth given to the ending as there was to the beginning, this would absolutely have been a five star, amazing review. I might try another story or two but may not purchase it right away depending on if the quality stays more consistent throughout.

### 5/5 — Amazing Game

*2022-10-02, version 2.5.6*

Great game- I have been sucked into multiple stories at this point. Some critical reviews claim you have to pay; but that just isn’t true (at least not now.) You can purchase the game to support the company and authors; but you don’t have to. After every chapter (chapters are fairly long as well) you just have to wait a little bit, watch one short ad, and continue on. There are no paid choices like the ones Episode or other choose-your-adventure stories have and I feel like my choices have a significant impact on the storyline. One thing I particularly like is the Character menu. There you can see relationship levels with characters, world/character
information, and the personality stats that guide events. It is an all-around amazing game! The only thing I would want is to wipe my memory of the stories so I could go back and play them for the first time again.

### 5/5 — Started with Heart of Battle

*2022-10-01, version 2.5.6*

And absolutely binged the story! Was immediately sucked it! Interesting characters and the choose your your adventure type story really brings back fun childhood memories. And it’s even better now with more mature stories and potential romances. I was so excited to get a happy ending on my first play through! Not to mention the option for romance as an asexual character! I’m already looking forward to picking out what to play next!

### 5/5 — Fun Stories

*2022-09-22, version 2.5.6*

The stories provide good escapism. Also I really appreciate that you can read them for free!

### 5/5 — Heart of Battle

*2022-09-12, version 2.5.6*

I’ve just finished replaying Heart of Battle for the third time and I’ll definitely replay it again! The character development, the depth of storyline (which ensures you have to play again and again to discover everything) and of course the romance. A cracking game I’d love to see continued - without giving spoilers - there are definitely some paths that feel like they could be furthered. Each time I play I feel like there’s another character I want to know more and that’s the sign of really good writing. 5/5 :)

### 5/5 — Really enjoy

*2022-09-08, version 2.5.6*

I’ve played/read most of the stories, and played most of those at least a dozen times. I’m more than willing to pay one price upfront and play a zillion times with no ads or timeouts. The lack of graphics is good for me; makes things run faster and leaves more to my imagination.

Would recommend!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — You can’t do anything that isn’t just for women.

*2026-03-26, version 4.1.0*

Pro wrestling that’s good and not some stupid authors fetish for making women have sex. Never date werewolves - much better if you could be male. Rites of pleasure - would actually be readable if you male. There is no reason not to be. The authors just don’t want anyone not female to read it or for that matter anyone who doesn’t like females having to be pathetic.

### 1/5 — Wow

*2023-04-23, version 2.6.5*

Storys are terrible no choices and fewer storys

### 1/5 — L

*2022-02-17, version 2.4.2*

Trash no male mc

### 1/5 — Can’t delete save files?!!

*2020-07-26, version 2.0.3*

After all these years of Choice of Games being the forerunner of text-based choose-your-own-adventure games, they refuse to add a simple feature of any modern game ever, even though the majority of their user base has asked for it for years?!! Not only does that show their laziness, it also shows their apathy regarding their customers.

### 1/5 — uhh what?

*2019-12-08, version 1.0.3*

I was really excited about this new CoG collection of stories until I saw “play as a straight female” with NO OTHER OPTIONS for their pirate book. What’s the point of a role playing game if you can’t even chose who you want to be? I’m extremely disappointed.

Just get this app for Dawnfall and leave the rest.

### 2/5 — Where are all the straight male stories

*2022-11-17, version 2.5.8*

I love choice of games stories, so when I saw they also had this app I got it. But when I looked though the stories, most of them either make you play as a female, with no option for a male player, or your a male player and you’re gay. There’s only 2-3 stories where you can play as a straight male. If I had known that this app is for lgbtq mainly, I would’ve just stuck to regular choice of games. And I know there’s going to be people calling me a homophobe for saying that, but I’m not saying take out the lgbt content, just add in also options to be a straight male. Nowdays all stories on choice of games include lgbt, so including us in theirs would interest more people and a variety of audiences who would support the author to make more content.

### 2/5 — Too many gender locked stories

*2020-04-17, version 2.0.3*

First I’ll start off saying I love choice of games and hosted games so much! They have given me hours of entertainment and leave me excited to see what book comes next! But as for hearts choice at this time I have to rate it low because most of the books available are gender locked, while I understand each book is up to the authors choice and they have a story that they want to tell. Right now with how the app is currently it just isn’t my cup of tea and I don’t see the value in the hearts choice app when it has such a limited selection of non gender locked books.

### 2/5 — You have to pay to finish.

*2020-03-22, version 2.0.3*

It’s not a free game it only lets you play the first part to the story but then you have to pay for the rest. Which is a bummer. Can’t they like make money through the ads?

### 2/5 — Network error

*2019-12-03, version 1.0.2*

Since a download the app up until now every time i try to read one of the stories it shows that i have a connection error even though i have a perfectly fine connection

### 3/5 — More free stories

*2025-03-01, version 3.1.5*

i love these types of games. i think that they are fun and very interactive but i would like if some of the spicy or spicers stories were free to play. that would be much appreciated as well as some inclusive straight stories.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very accessible and fun

*2026-04-05, version 4.1.0*

I love this game. It works with voiceover. And a lot of the games have many different choices for romance and spice level.

### 5/5 — Hearts in Hades Divine Passion

*2026-02-17, version 4.1.0*

I loved this game. The author has such a deep knowledge of Greek mythology and intertwines it so effortlessly throughout the story. I really enjoyed all the love interests and found myself second guessing my decisions at every turn. The author does a great job making failures interesting and not simply a negative to a positive outcome. I will be replaying very soon!

### 5/5 — I’ve been waiting for one like this!

*2026-02-15, version 4.1.0*

As a straight female player, I’ve been waiting for an amazing fantasy or sci fi romance with wonderful male options. The writing is great and I love the story. I wish it were longer, but I know it must take a long time to make these stories.

### 5/5 — Maravilhoso!

*2025-10-12, version 4.0.0*

Não costumo avaliar aplicativos, mas esse app é simplesmente maravilhoso. Entretenimento puro, histórias maravilhosas e personagens encantadores :)

### 5/5 — Very good

*2025-01-03, version 3.1.5*

Heart of battle was hands down the best one I’ve played

### 5/5 — Asexual Options

*2024-10-13, version 3.1.2*

Never before have I found a game with explicitly asexual options. Literally started crying. The writing is amazing, realistic, and inclusive. I adore it.

### 5/5 — Muito bom

*2024-07-25, version 3.1.2*

Eu gostei desta perspectiva de criar um aplicativo só para o gênero de romance, além da qualidade de desenvolvimento sempre excelente

### 5/5 — cool game!

*2024-07-11, version 3.1.2*

i'm a newer player, but so far i'm loving this app. i like the diversity of stories, the accessibility for free players with trials and the free tier (i think the option to watch ads is a good compromise for those who can't or don't want to purchase every story, and would even support this being expanded to more stories; if the system stays the way it is for the free tier, i'm more than willing to watch ads), and am having a lot of fun playing what feels like a really interesting and customizable game. i have one big suggestion though: i think there should be an option to undo choices or to navigate to earlier parts of the story you're reading without restarting. maybe this is a problem with one specific story and not the app as a whole--i've only played one so far and based on reviews, it sounds like they may each be set up slightly differently--but it'd be a lot more convenient to be able to navigate or rewind to an earlier choice if i want to change it rather than starting the story over from scratch. the text format makes this relatively easier for me personally to manage, but sometimes when i play interactive rp games like this, i like to see where certain choices lead before committing and just kind of test the waters, and sometimes i just realize i would've rather made a different choice. otherwise, i really like the way this app is set up as a platform for multiple stories/authors, love the spice rating system, love the ui so far (particularly the stats section), love the way that free players are handled as opposed to other games as of now, and yeah. it's just that one thing i really want to see changed. EDIT: okay wait i stand corrected! the lack of an undo button is deliberate to preserve dramatic tension. i can respect that. i'd say to just be aware of this when you make choices in games and make sure not to slip and click the wrong button, like i did once (early on, so it was fine). there are times when i wish i knew more clearly what certain decisions "meant", like sometimes the speaking choice is exactly what i wanna say, but the resulting actions aren't--but i can accept that as a necessary part of letting the tale seduce me. there are certain things that this decision is especially great for, like one of the characters my mc is friends with died, and knowing it was preventable, i'm now having them focus more on training, which is! dramatically a very solid reason for an arc! EDIT 2: a suggestion! a compromise in fact! what if (unless this is already a thing) once you finish a book, you have the option to go back and replay the game from a certain point, like if you want to replay certain scenes? no this isnt about anything in particular no im not trying to have dinner and dessert w eryx and remi in the same night EDIT 3: AND/OR! a way to reread finished chapters without being able to edit your decisions? just to look back

### 5/5 — Love this game

*2024-06-14, version 3.1.2*

Love this app so much but we need more juicy and magical stories we need more please!!!!!

### 5/5 — One of the best

*2024-05-30, version 3.1.0*

I’ve always loved choose your own adventure games, and have played them even in print form as a young child.

This is one of the best apps I have found for this. Its stories are unmatched in their immersion and writing style. I love that they describe how heated the romance gets, as I usually prefer a more moderate tone in that regard. They offer appropriate descriptions so readers can make proper choices.

I have enjoyed all of the interactive tales I have read so far. They constantly update with new offerings, and it is much appreciated.
