## What is Heat Check?

Heat Check is the live stat tracker built for fans who want more than a box score — now across the NBA and MLB, with the NFL arriving in August.

The Heater Board shows you which players are running hot — right now, while the game is still happening. Real-time player alerts fire the moment someone crosses your Heat Index threshold. No refreshing. No recapping. Just live momentum, tracked automatically.

A BETTER BOX SCORE
Every shot, every swing, every run — tracked play by play. Heat Check turns live play-by-play data into a player momentum score, so you always know who's heating up before the broadcast does. Live scores and real-time player stats, designed to be read in seconds instead of scrolled for minutes. This is the box score if the box score actually watched the game.

HOT HAND ALERTS
Stop reading box scores after the game. Set alerts on any player, in any league, and Heat Check pings you the moment they start cooking — shooting streaks, hot bats, hitting streaks, pitchers dealing. The Heat Index tells you what the numbers actually mean, and haptics make sure you feel it when a heat check hits.

THE HEATER BOARD
Your live player tracker across every league and team. See every hot player from every game on one screen. Sort by Heat Index. Filter by game or league. Know exactly who's on fire and who's fading — in real time, often before the broadcast catches up.

LIVE ACTIVITIES
Follow any player right from your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island with stats that update in real time. You may never actually open the app again — we're choosing to take that as a compliment.

EVERY LEAGUE, PLAYER FIRST
NBA: live basketball stats, player momentum, shooting streaks, and heat-check threes as they happen.
MLB: hot bats, hitting streaks, and pitchers dealing — baseball stats with a pulse.
NFL: arriving in August, just in time for football season and your pick em group chat.
One app, every team, and the sports scores that matter — told through the players driving them.

FOR THE STAT OBSESSED
Whether you play daily fantasy, run a pick em pool, research player props, or just refuse to lose a group-chat argument, Heat Check gives you the live player stats and momentum data to know who's hot first. Bring your own conclusions; we'll bring the receipts.

SHARE THE HEAT
Send player performance cards straight from the app. When your guy goes nuclear in the third quarter, the group chat deserves evidence.

WHAT YOU GET
• Live player stats and box scores for every NBA and MLB game
• Real-time sports scores with player-level context — see who is driving the run, not just the final number
• Custom hot streak alerts with thresholds you control
• The Heater Board: every hot player in every league, one screen
• A basketball stat tracker and a baseball stat tracker that share one Heat Index language
• Player performance cards built for sharing
• Live Activities on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island
• Haptic heat checks — some streaks deserve to be felt

ON THE WAY
NFL football stats and live scores land in August. More leagues, deeper player stats, and smarter momentum models are on the roadmap — the Heat Index gets sharper every season.

POWERED BY AI & SPORTRADAR
Built on Sportradar's real-time play-by-play data and accepted into the Sportradar Futures Hub accelerator. Every Heat Index score is calculated by AI tracking streaks, scoring pace, and live shooting — not guesswork, not vibes, and definitely not a guy named Dave refreshing a spreadsheet.

WHY HEAT CHECK
Box scores are boring. They tell you what happened. Heat Check tells you what's happening — and what's about to happen. Built on real-time play-by-play data, powered by AI, and designed player-first for fans who actually watch the game.

Free to download. No account required. Heat Check is a stats and alerts app — it does not offer betting, wagering, or real-money gaming.

Download the live stat tracker fans are calling their secret weapon.

### 5/5 — Let’s go Knicks

*2026-02-03*

This app is so helpful. I used to only watch and bet on Knicks games.

But now I can keep tabs on every team and player around the league for my parlays.

Watch out bank account, this could be either really good for us or the first step to bankruptcy

### 5/5 — Fun visualization and speed!

*2026-02-03*

Pretty cool way to visualize game action! I’m a box score stalker normally, but I enjoy using the “heater board” and seeing player performance across the NBA. It’s nice to get the entire-game-slate view of players heating up so I can use the info to fire up a bet or just tune in. Also seems to be faster than the broadcast which is another plus.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-07-24

This is a big one. Like, "we argued about the changelog order" big.

MLB IS HERE. Heat Check now tracks baseball. Hitting streaks, hot bats, pitchers dealing. The Heat Index speaks baseball now. (NBA isn't going anywhere, obviously.)
LIVE ACTIVITIES. Follow a player from your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island with stats that update in real time. You may never actually open the app again, which our analytics team is choosing to see as a compliment.
LIQUID GLASS. We rebuilt the entire app in Apple's new Liquid Glass design. It's translucent, it's fluid, and one of us called it "unreasonably pretty" in a meeting. No one disagreed.
NFL: AUGUST. Football is coming. We've seen it running internally and we are not okay. Get your alerts set before kickoff.

As always: bug fixes, performance improvements, and one heated internal debate we're not ready to talk about yet.

### 1.3 — 2026-04-02

Heat Check – Version 1.3
The marketing team would like you to know this is the most exciting update in Heat Check history. The dev team would like you to know it's three features. Both parties have been asked to move on.

Share Player Performance Cards
You can now share player performance cards directly from the app. Marketing has been calling this "a cultural moment." Dev has been calling it "a share sheet." A compromise could not be reached, so we're publishing both takes and letting you decide.

Updated Analytics
The team has made meaningful improvements to how the app tracks performance data under the hood. Marketing wrote four sentences about this. Dev rewrote all four. Marketing rewrote them back. What you're reading now is the third draft and nobody is proud of it.

Haptic Feedback
Your phone now buzzes when a heat check hits. This was dev's idea. Marketing immediately requested it be "more dramatic." Dev said haptics don't do drama. Marketing disagreed. The current buzz is a direct result of that disagreement and honestly it feels pretty good.

Heat Check 1.3. Shipping Apps and unresolved tension since day one.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-03-29

Mostly cleaning up our own mistakes:
- Notification badge should now clear even if not signed in
- Some visual tidying for those on smaller screens
- Alerts should now bring you to current player details when tapping on them
- Marketing team still contributing nothing to this app (out of my hands)

Love,
Engineering

### 1.2.1 — 2026-03-28

Heat Check– Version 1.2.1

A Message From the Dev Team -
We fixed things. Important things. Things that required real skill and focus and approximately four hours of staring at logs that marketing will never read. You’re welcome.

A Message From Marketing -
The app is gorgeous. It has always been gorgeous. We just made it more gorgeous. The developers helped.

What Actually Changed
Player Badge Alignment on Expanded Cards – They were off by a few pixels. Marketing filed a ticket titled “THIS IS BROKEN AND LOOKS BAD.” Dev responded with a five-sentence explanation of why it wasn’t technically broken. It was fixed the next morning. No one apologized.
Alert System Now Matches the Expanded View – Alerts were doing their own thing visually. Marketing described this as “a complete disaster.” Dev described it as “a known inconsistency we were monitoring.” Both of these statements appeared in the same Slack thread. It got tense.
Backend Efficiency Overhaul – Faster. Leaner. More resilient. Marketing asked if they could say “lightning fast” in the release notes. Dev said no. Marketing asked if they could say “blazing fast.” Dev said also no. We have agreed on “faster.” Everyone is exhausted.

Heat Check is built by a team that communicates primarily through passive-aggressive pull request comments and the occasional emoji reaction. The hot hand doesn’t care. Neither should you.

Go find your props.
