### 4/5 — Session Handling

*2026-07-06, version 2025.1*

I’ve been using this app for years, and it’s easily my favourite workout tracker. It’s clean, easy to use, and has everything I need to log my workouts. It’s one of the few fitness apps I’ve never felt the need to replace.

The only issue I’ve noticed is that workout sessions can behave inconsistently. Sometimes, if I switch to another app during a workout, the app ends the session in the background and saves it before I’m finished. Other times, if I accidentally leave a workout open and don’t come back for days, the session is still running when I reopen the app.

I’d love to see more consistent session handling because it would make the experience even better. Other than that, it’s a fantastic app that I highly recommend.

### 4/5 — Solid App, simple and effective

*2026-04-17*

Please do: an API to Garmin and Strava - we all want our data also there.

An API to apple health is already there.

I did the one time payment for 20€ and happy with all the Functions and usability.

### 2/5 — Volume progression graph malfunctioning

*2026-01-02, version 2025.1*

The bones of a great app, took a while to get used to but once I did it was straight forward to does almost everything I need.

Just one problem. The progress graph it generates based on my workouts does not work correctly.

For example the values on the axis don’t match the data point values, for example a 8,000kg volume workout is showing above a “10” on the vertical axis and perhaps most frustratingly of all, my workouts for a number of weeks of increasing volume are not showing an increasing trend line, despite when clicking on the data points you can see the volumes are actually correct. I.e workout 1 is 7,000kg and workout 2 is 10,000kg volume yet on the graph workout 2 data point is lower

Pretty much renders the app pretty useless for me. It seemed to glitch out at some point because it didn’t always do this. Anyway regret spending the money on it. I requested support and got no answer.

### 4/5 — Nice app with some accessibility issues

*2026-01-01, version 2025.1*

I finally found an app I can log my workouts with voiceover. Unfortunatelly it still has accessibility issues, but it's way more useable than others I've tried before.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-11-12, version 2025.1*

I’ve been using this app for years now, simple to use and very effective. Unlike other apps that try to do everything, this is just a log for your workouts.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2025-10-19, version 2025.1*

Amazing app love it. It would be even better if there is a version available for my Apple Watch.

### 5/5 — Long term user loving it

*2025-10-19, version 2025.1*

I love this app. Does everything I need it to.

### 5/5 — Best workout app

*2025-10-08, version 2025.1*

For the ultimate trainer: Allows for custom workout design, easy to use interface and resilient (no crashes). Can’t recommend enough for those who want to track workouts with no thrills/useless bells and whistles.

### 5/5 — Great Basic App for Workout Tracking

*2025-09-26, version 2025.1*

This app has you covered if you are looking for an economical and effective tool to track your workout progress. Ditch monthly costs.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-09-21, version 2025.1*

Wish they had a way to track planks and timed body weight exercises

### 5/5 — Great app…but…

*2025-09-18, version 2025.1*

Would be nice if this is available in the iPad as well.

### 5/5 — Bellissima app

*2025-09-01, version 2025.1*

### 5/5 — For lifters who know what they’re doing and who know what they want to do

*2025-09-01, version 2025.1*

There are plenty of apps for helping people make programs, but few for people who (1) already know what they’re doing and (2) only need a a net app for tracking. For the latter, this app is for you, and it’s very good at it.

The generously sized controls and clear UI are great for using in a gym. Exporting workout data, backup, and importing programs via copy/paste from a text file is brilliant.

There’s a surprisingly deep feature set. I’ve tried other apps but always come back to Heavyset.

### 5/5 — Great Basic App for Workout Tracking

*2025-08-27, version 2025.1*

This app has you covered if you are looking for an economical and effective tool to track your workout progress. Ditch monthly costs.

### 4/5 — Still one of the best

*2025-08-26, version 2025.1*

This is still one of the most feature rich apps for serious lifters, even with lack of update support over the years. There’s plenty of ways to modify your splits that other apps are simply lacking, and you can customize individual exercises such as unilateral counts, syncing BW for calisthenics, etc.

If you don’t care about social media or apple watch integration, this is as good as it gets. I hope the devs haven’t completely forgotten about this app.

### 4/5 — Promising!

*2025-08-23, version 2025.1*

I really like this app. It has a lot of useful features in it that make my gym workouts more organized and gives me more focus in my sessions.

I feel it could use some refinement to make things more simple to use. It can get a little confusing at times, but it’s not already so complicated that it’s unusable, just feedback for the future to the developer. Would be awesome to sort exercises based on volume group, or even add mobility/warmup/cooldown/stretch exercises to it.

Overall it’s solid, and i’m looking forward to future updates.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Difficult to use

*2025-11-21, version 2025.1*

Poor interface. Definitely not worth $20. Immediate delete.

### 1/5 — Outdated

*2025-10-29, version 2025.1*

App hasn’t had an update in over two years and now does not function as it used to. This app used to be the best thing but now keeps closing, resetting and restarting in the middle of a workout. I’ve contacted the developer several times with zero response or feedback.

At this point, I wouldn’t recommend paying for the upgrade.

### 1/5 — Stopped Working

*2025-08-28, version 2025.1*

I made the mistake of upgrading to version 2025.1 and now the app doesn’t work. And the support page link goes to the wrong page so I can’t reach out to the developer. Hoping this review will encourage the developer to reach out or fix the app.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2025-08-11, version 2022.1.1*

I didn’t find this user friendly at all. The interface didn’t make sense to me, I was after a timer and somewhere I could just put my routine in, track the weights/reps. This wasn’t it

### 1/5 — Outdated

### 1/5 — New update stops musics

*2025-03-15, version 2022.1.1*

Hey team, love the app. But somehow my music stops now, whenever I hit “Log”. Can you fix that please? 5 stars afterward

### 1/5 — App is getting worse

*2025-01-29, version 2022.1.1*

They got rid of the import feature

### 1/5 — First impressions

*2024-12-10, version 2022.1.1*

I gave it about 3 mins when I realized it’s a shell designed for you to buy and nothing else

### 1/5 — Rest timer now useless

*2024-11-02, version 2022.1.1*

Rest timer stops sometimes if you are not in the app.

### 1/5 — Broken!

*2024-10-02, version 2022.1.1*

Used to be amazing - but keeps crashing to home screen on start up now

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best Gym Tracking App

*2026-06-18*

This app is meticulously designed so that you spend a little time on your phone and as much time pumping iron.

No silly social features. No subscriptions. Just track.

Amazing!

### 5/5 — The best, definitely the best fitness tracker

*2026-04-17, version 2025.1*

I used this app for many many years.
It’s doing exactly what you are expecting from a fitness tracking app. Tracks your progress.
Shows 1 RM max.
Has pause timer.
Workouts.
All you need.
No cloud login or any Bull.. needed.
Great app.
This one I will really miss on Android

### 5/5 — Totally worth it

*2026-04-12, version 2025.1*

Okay, it’s not free but it’s not 99$/yr and you get something that really delivers (and more)! I have been using it for many years now and it just keeps getting better. And it is complex without being confusing. You pay once and you will keep using it.

### 5/5 — Best App - But Watch Companion?

*2026-02-27*

This is the most complete and polished fitness training app I have used. It offers an exceptional depth of functionality and feels thoughtfully designed throughout.

The only feature I currently miss is an Apple Watch companion app to enable smoother and more seamless set tracking during workouts. In addition, the interface could benefit from visual refinements to better align with Apple’s newer Liquid Glass design language.

Would be willing to pay again.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-02-25, version 2025.1*

Have had this for years, great app, intuitive, simple, well laid out, great features and extremely good technical help when I had a problem - 11/10

### 5/5 — 9 Years of Use

*2026-02-24, version 2025.1*

I absolutely adore this workout tracker. I have been using HeavySet for the last 9 years since 2017. It’s so easy & simple to use but not basic at all. It’s incredible for tracking your progress across all exercises, weights, reps, sets & volume. It has everything you need without anything you don’t.

I will never change to another app and will continue using this app until i’m old and grey.

I bought this app (luckily) before it became subscription based when they first launched. However, if I had to pay for this on a monthly basis, I would without hesitation.

Highly, highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Best value in the App Store!

*2026-02-17, version 2025.1*

I’ve tried over 10 different lifting apps and this is by far the best that you can get out of a free app. I went ahead and paid for the lifetime option which is also the best value compared to everything I’ve tried.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-02-05, version 2025.1*

Great app to create a good routine that breaks up muscle types

### 5/5 — Best Gym Tracker on the Planet

*2026-01-09, version 2025.1*

Everything I need to do this app has me covered. Very intuitive.

### 5/5 — I am a powerlifter using this app since 2018

*2026-01-03, version 2025.1*

And I use it for all my exercises, I have all my PRs in it and it helps me a lot in programming.
Highly recommended.
