The free version has a limited dictionary, but it gives a good feel of the app, and the full version. The app is excellent. It works like a charm, the voice is clear and the style remains simple, which is a plus. I found only one weakness (no bug) that the full version might not have. No matter what. It is one of the better training programs i have ever worked with. This free version makes one thing clear. The one thing it lacks is the individual letters and vowels. Moreover, all the words saved to the workbook have also now lost the formerly embedded pronunciation 'microphone'. Oy vey!!!! ### 2/5 — Translation Hinders Fluency *2011-06-21, version 1.9.0* Language Acquisition will always be hindered by providing a translation or gloss in another language such as English. Use Hebrew and only Hebrew, spoken and written (in a Hebrew script, not transliterated), with pictures, sound effects and video to best acquire the language. Picture association is a great way to go. Start simple, with lots of repetition, then keep building up. This will build fluency. There is a great deal of research that shows this to be the case. Language software should be doing this kind of thing. If it's not, you are wasting your time, energy, and resources that could be used for actual fluency-building. ### 3/5 — Helpful *2011-01-22, version 1.9.0* It is a good app; however, in study mode, the front and back side of the flashcard should not be shown on the same screen. I want to be able to test myself, but in this mode, I am trying not to look at the bottom of the screen to see the answer.
