## What is Hebrew Verbs & Conjugations, PROLOG?

The Verb Tables Application is organized in a unique innovative format, which includes an array of new grammatical and visual features that serve to enrich the user's learning experience.
Verb Tables Editor: Shraga Asif

Verb tables are an important and essential tool for properly learning the basics of the Hebrew language. A considerable number of verb tables have been published to date, however we believe that this application offers users a more sophisticated and modern approach. Firstly, the objective was to create a unique high quality product for learners of Hebrew who wish to improve their understanding of verb conjugation. The many grammatical and visual features of this application are designed not only to provide a user-friendly interface but also to serve as an integral and effective educational tool.

Special features:
- The application's most interesting and most innovative feature is the way in which it consistently displays the root letters of each word in red – which prominently demonstrates the unique pattern and structure of each verb root in each of the various conjugations.
- Indication of alternate forms. In certain areas of verb conjugation, the Academy has allowed for the use of two or more alternate forms of conjugation. These forms are shown in braces {…} and usually only the relevant syllable is marked.
- Plene and deficient spelling. As stated above, all forms are originally presented in their plene vowelized spellings. If necessary, the form is also presented in its vowelized deficient spelling in brackets.
- Demarcation of stressed syllables. Stressed syllables appear in bold in the case of similar forms with different meanings.
- Modeling of fluent reading. Verbs are clearly read by both native speakers and learners in order to demonstrate proper pronunciation. Male and female voices clearly pronounce all forms appearing on each of 21 selected verb tables from different conjugations.
- Slang. Slang verbs are specially marked.

## Key features

### 3/5 — English meaning

*2022-05-28, version 216.11.05*

This app has a good repertoire of verbs, but for some reason some of the verbs lack the English translation… 🤦‍♂️.

I get by using google translate when the verb lacks its English translation, but I’m just confused as to why translations are not there for every verb. It comes across as a little incomplete.

### 5/5 — Useful verb chart, easy to use

*2017-10-26*

I moved to Israel last year and began to learn Hebrew. Unfortunately most dictionaries won’t conjugate verbs and it takes someone who knows Hebrew well to figure out how to search for the meaning when you don’t know the root of the verb. With this app, you need some elementary understanding of Hebrew, but once you have that, this app is amazing, it opens up the language completely. I use it on almost a daily basis at this point. Thank you developers!

### 1/5 — Not helpful for the beginner

*2017-02-20*

This app is not helpful for the beginner. Instructions in Hebrew. Some of us are at the beginning.

### 5/5 — Terrific app

*2016-06-06*

I've been studying Hebrew for years, and love this app. It's true that not every single Hebrew verb is included, but even for the advanced student, veryln few are missing. The look-up is so easy - you type in ANY form of the verb, even the tsivui (imperative) or the future feminine plural, and a list comes up of that spelling in every binyan (one of the seven verb patterns) in which it occurs. Look for the name of the binyan you're working with, click on it, and you get the entire layout of that specific verb in that specific binyan, including very clear nekudot (vowel pointings), its shoresh (root), and if indicated, the letter of the root which causes a deviation from the normal pattern of the binyan. You don't have to figure out the past masculine singular form of the verb to begin the search, as is the case with other verb tables. Heck, just give it the infinitive if you feel like it!

I haven't picked up an old-fashioned luach (table) since the first day I downloaded this one. If you're at the beginning of learning Hebrew, ask your teacher to show you the names of the binyanim, and then help you see where they are listed when you look up a verb. When you are able to do that, you can use the app for as much as you'll need in the beginning. As you learn more Hebrew, you'll begin to use the more advanced parts of the information provided, in a natural way.

This could possibly be the best spent money to advance your studies, besides a good teacher or Israelis to hang out with!

### 2/5 — Very Useful companion to dictionary & Ulpan Ivrit

*2014-10-30*

I am using this as a reference for Ulpan Ivrit and am very pleased that I can look up conjugated verbs but am disappointed that not all verbs in the book are included in this application and not all verbs have English translations. I had to use Wiki to help me. I also agree that the instructions need to be in English otherwise they are useless.
I do like the audio video. The app has much promise. Very useful... Most of App is now working with OS 8 but video is Not. Please fix.

### 3/5 — Translation

*2013-08-05, version 2.5*

I have been studying Hebrew for three years and your app is great BUT it would be so much better if you also included the English meaning of the verb.
Any chance??
Ruth

### 2/5 — The app is OK, but their support is non-existent.

*2013-04-02, version 2.5*

Software won't just work, or and improvements are based on interaction with users. There is no way to contact this company, and the bugs that I've found have had no response from them. If you're interested in just making a 'donation' to the company, rather than paying for working software, then go ahead and buy it.

### 2/5 — Documentation all in Hebrew

*2012-08-20*

Not a useful tool if you're trying to self-teach. All the documentation is in Hebrew, so it's very difficult to learn how to use the tables, etc.

### 1/5 — Fictional issues make this app unusable

*2012-05-05, version 2.5*

First impressions: The instructions (and you need them) are in Ivrit only. Which is daft for an English-Hebrew learning tool.

Annoyingly, like with the Prolog dictionaries doesn't multitask. This means you can't toggle applications as Prolog restarts from scratch when you return to it. Doesn't keep a log of queries.

And like the dictionary doesn't rotate, so no landscape mode.

And wouldn't it be nice if it linked through from the Prolog dictionary.

Fix these and I would be in a better position to use this app in real time and assess fully. Till then (at the very least till there are instructions in English) its just a toy and rates a lone stare.
