Just go in through Safari. ### 2/5 — Amazing resource but very buggy *2011-10-12* What Hebrewbooks has accomplished with their library is extraordinary, and the fact that they don't charge is really admirable. Unfortunately this app is not a good way to access their library. It is extremely buggy and prone to crashing, the search feature is not reliable, and minimizing the app actually closes it, deleting any downloads in progress. Hopefully the app will be updated with fixes to these problems. ### 3/5 — Good, but needs more work *2010-12-19* The collection is great. The interface is a bit clunky. Would've liked to see book size in MBs, not just number of pages. Would've liked to see a d/l progress bar with the option to cancel a d/l, as well. Appears unable to do big d/ls, such as the ספר לקוטי מוהר״ן, with 300+ pages. It crashed out my iPod 8GB 2nd gen running iOS 4.1 bad, as I got the silver Apple screen for a minute or so before getting the "Enter Passcode" screen. The program's search is a bit funky, too. I first viewed the חסידות offerings & there was no לקוטי מוהר״ן in sight. I did a search on it. First time, nothing came up. Did the search again & it came up with a "blank" לקוטי מוהר״ן, w/over 700+ pages. I finally did a search on ברסלב & I got other ברסלב ספרים, in addition to the "blank" לקוטי מוהר״ן, there was a "ספר לקוטי מוהר״ן", both which crashed my iPod bad. ### 3/5 — Great resource, app has problems *2010-12-19* Hebrewbooks.org is an amazing resource, but this app crashes constantly on my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.1), especially in the middle of downloading seforim. ### 2/5 — Nu Nu *2010-10-27* The only thing good about this app is the collection of seforim. The actual App is clunky, buggy, and needs more options. ### 4/5 — Suggested improvements for a future version of this excptional program *2010-10-18* I wanted to note a few things which may perhaps be improved in the next version of this truly exeptional program. 1) If zoom in when looking at a sefer, and I then go to the next page, the zoom does not reset to show the whole page (which I would be helpful so one may see the whole contents of the page to know what portion of the page to magnify). Moreover, the zoomed in view begins on the left side, despite the fact that hebrew is the language of the text! I think the zooming would work best if it worked like it does in Apple's "Photos" App: When zooming in a photo there, if you "swipe across" the screen to go to the next image, it is no longer zoomed in for the next photo. If you cannot fix this, perhaps you can add a button to reset zoom (next to the buttons for previous page & next page). 2) There is no option to sort/order the saved books of the seforim library. The library does not even sort them according to the ilfa beita (alphabet). It seems like they are sorted by download date. 3) If I click download, the program will download the sefer even when I already downloaded it previously. It also shows it another time in the Library of Saved Books (which scrolls slowly with only 9 seforim in the library). Additionally, I cannot delete seforim from the library (not even the one that was downloaded twice). 4) In the browse categories section of the program, if I am not connected to the internet, I can see the names of the seforim that can be downloaded (with no picture)! But if I click download, it unfortunately will not save the seforim to a download list for a time when there is an internet connection. 5) With just 9 saved seforim in the library, simply scrolling down the list is quite slow (on the 3rd generation iPod Touch). No other apps showed such sluggishness. 6) The application suddenly quit (while downloading seforim, if I remember correctly) a few times. When the application is closed, the things downloading are not saved for later downloading, but rather are purged from the list. ### 4/5 — Great but needs an update *2010-10-07* Amazing app, to to have so many seforim at your fingertips, but needs an update it keeps on crashing, if you want to download a book not only does the app crash, the whole device resets itself. I have now iOS 4.1 please update and thanks a lot. ### 5/5 — Excellent! *2010-08-30* Great to have so much at my fingertips... although the words are really too small to learn from. The search feature requires a Hebrew keyboard, which is easy to activate from the settings on the main homepage. Press the following buttons: Settings,- General,- International,- Keyboards,- Add New Keyboards,- Hebrew. Once you activate it, you can use Hebrew on any app. Switch languages by pressing the 'globe' button that will appear near the space bar. I like using it for Mail & Google Translator, (which is free at the App Store, called iTranslate, and does a good job on both Hebrew and Yiddish). הצלחה רבה! חיים יונה ז. ### 2/5 — Virus filled *2010-07-19* A very good app, filled with tons of seforim. However, it seems to be riddled with viruses. It constantly shuts down on me or simply freezes causing me to restart the iPod.
