As far as no (expensive) pricise or certified survey results are required, Hectare.app will provide reliable data and a structured protocol. The free version of Hectare.app allows you to get to familiarize yourself with the app. Hectare.app is fully functional but doesn't show results other than the side lenghts or the circumference. To see the size of the area simply unlock the feature by purchase. During recording you see an estimate with ±inaccuracy that's artificially applied.  Once you finished a recording that you think looks good, you can unlock that recording for free and see the correct size. You can create as many recordings as you like, but you can only unlock one for free. Second attempt I was charged $49.99, and still only calculated the area that I walked along one side of the entire rectangular block. An absolute ripoff. The fact that they charge for the second and subsequent attempt is not advised when advertised. Apple should delete these - it is criminal to falsely promote a product.
