## What is Heiße Kartoffel?

Die “Heiße Kartoffel” ist ein digitales Deutschlern-Spiel des Goethe-Instituts. Mit dem Spiel trainierst du zusammen mit deinen Freunden deinen Wortschatz, dein Allgemeinwissen und deine Grammatik. 

Du spielst  „Heiße Kartoffel“ mit maximal fünf Spielern. Gemeinsam bildet ihr ein Team. Ihr meldet euch mit einem Gruppennamen, eurem Land, eurer Stadt und mit euren Namen an.

Zu jeder Aufgabe sollt ihr die richtige Antwort finden. Es gibt immer vier mögliche Antworten. Jeder Spieler hat eine begrenzte Zeit, um die Frage zu beantworten und er darf auch seine Mitspieler fragen. Nach Ablauf der Zeit gibst du das Smartphone an den nächsten Spieler weiter. Der beantwortet die kommende Frage. Bei jeder neuen Runde wird die Zeit zum Beantworten der Fragen automatisch kürzer.

Ziel des Deutschlern-Spiels ist es, dass ihr möglichst viele Fragen gemeinsam in eurem Team richtig beantwortet. Je mehr Fragen ihr falsch beantwortet, desto “heißer” wird die Kartoffel auf dem Display. Euer Smartphone ist also die “Heiße Kartoffel”. Ihr müsst sie schnell weitergeben, um nicht zu verbrennen!

Das Spiel dauert so lange, bis die “Kartoffel” zu heiß geworden ist. Dann ist das Spiel beendet. Euren Highsore könnt ihr am Schluss in der Bestenliste einsehen. Dort findet ihr die Position eures Teams im Ländervergleich und im internationalen Vergleich. Euer bestes Ergebnis wird automatisch in der Bestenliste gespeichert!

Zum Neustarten des Spiels könnt ihr jederzeit auf das X oben rechts auf dem Display drücken.

### 3/5 — Is there a single player mode?

Very good trivia questions and fun if you had more than one person participating but would be better if there was a way to play against bots/computer programs. I like the app but don’t know where I’d use it other than at home and I am the only person in my family who knows german. If you are using this as a sort of flash card tool then this is the right app for you.
