It would be nice if this could be fixed; when I receive a notification I would like to be taken directly to the camera that’s been activated so I can see what’s going on. Would be even better to see a screenshot of what triggered the alarm. 2) Sometimes one device is notified but not the other. 3) Sometimes playback feature does not work. ### 2/5 — Alarm Function Keeps Crashing *2021-01-24, version 3.3.8* I have my new cameras setup to alarm to my phone through this app. When you click on the notification it opens the app, then churns for a few minutes and crashed before bringing up the video. So annoying. We actually had a person walk up to our front door and take our slippers. I was not home during this incident and it’s very disturbing. Everything else works perfect with the app, but crashes every time when you get a notification of motion and you try to open the app. My girlfriend who has a android her app works perfect when she clicks on the alarm notification. ### 1/5 — App Crashes On Alarm Feature *2020-11-05, version 3.3.8* Same results as others. When trying to view the alarm info in the App, the app crashes. Likewise when you get an alarm notification for movement and you click on it to take you to it in the app, it crashes. Pointless in having the notifications if you can’t view it in the app. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not happy *2025-10-15, version 3.4.28* I had purchased a heimvision several years ago and downloaded the app for my iPhone and android box and I had not wrote a review but lately I’m not happy with heimkit for the fact that it will freeze on my android box and iPhone also my iPad my husband and I have 8 cameras for the business and 4 for our home and the app freezes and we have to reboot it, as I am a tech I have done everything to it and even broke down and uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and even restarted the heimvision NVR and rebooted my internet box and still the app freezes and when I went to the app the last update was done in 2023, I am ready to get rid of heimvision and find a whole different system to use you all need to do better than this if you are calling yourself a security system, NOT HAPPY AT ALL VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED WITH THIS APP ### 1/5 — It has been 3 days and still not working *2023-09-04, version 3.4.28* App keep saying “offline” nothing wrong with my cameras! It continually says “Device offline”. It’s difficult to navigate, has no guide to help the user, numerous “features” and functions don’t work. The product description is misleading and dishonest. As a result of this poorly developed app and inadequate support for the user, I plan to return the heimvision products for another brand and simply delete this awful app. And although the hardware is quite nice, what good is it without a platform and mobile app in this era of technology !? No time setting up. User friendly. Audio could be louder yet I am not sure if I have optimized the volume. It's still not great, but it's actually functional now, and can look at notifications. There's two things that could still be addressed, though. 1: the blue welcome screen. The screen that says "heimkits" and "see for security". It stays on the screen WAY too long. Make it shorter, or do away with it completely. SUPER frustrating to have to wait on it. Even sometimes just switching between apps will make it show that screen again when you go back to Heimkits. 2: the playback feature for notifications doesn't allow you to "scrub" through the video (skip forward or back). You have to watch the 30 second clip from beginning to end every time. Miss something, or want to see something again? You have to rewatch the whole clip. Other that those things, the app is usable Original Review: Notifications are useless, because as soon as you click on them, it says "Loading" for a second, and then the app crashes.
