## What is Heirloom?

Heirloom is an inventory of your home, room by room. Name a room and photograph what is in it, one item at a time. Tap Done and each item is saved with its photos and its room, so you can keep walking. You can also write an item down without a photo; both are full records. Home shows each room and collection, and how much of each is documented.

THE INVENTORY YOUR INSURER READS
Choose the items, and Heirloom prepares a PDF, room by room: what each item is in plain words, its photos, serial number, measurements and condition, and its replacement value with where that figure comes from. Receipts and other documents you attached are numbered as exhibits at the back. Heirloom first names what is missing, and keeps a record of what you sent, version by version. It is an inventory aid, not an appraisal: the replacement figures are the ones you recorded, and the document does not confirm coverage.

WHAT EACH ITEM IS, FROM ITS MARKS
Heirloom Advisor is your cataloguer: it reads each item’s photos and marks, tells you what it would do next, and asks for more only when an item looks worth it. Some hallmarks, pottery marks and serial numbers can be dated from published tables, and a dated mark heads the record with the table it came from. Each detail says how it is known: read from your photo, said by you, from a source, or likely. The Advisor says what it cannot tell, and it never decides whether an item is genuine. After a room walk it works while you carry on, and notifies you when it is done.

The Advisor is optional, and Heirloom asks first. If you allow it, your photos, notes and record details go to OpenAI, and a photo link and a few details (maker, type, period, material) go to a search service that looks for similar items and auction records. Choose "Record everything myself" and nothing is sent to them.

VALUE, WITH ONE STRICT RULE
A figure is shown only with its source, and your own figure comes first. Heirloom never shows a guess of its own as a value. With the Advisor allowed, it looks for what similar items sold for and shows what it finds under "What the market shows", each with where it was found and what kind of price it is. An asking price, an auction estimate or a look-alike is never counted: a sale counts toward a figure only once Heirloom's own server has read it and matched it to your item. Many items have no market figure: a record is complete without one, and it counts as not yet valued, never as zero.

FAMILY AND SPECIALISTS
Share a collection with a relative by sending a link. By default they see each item's title, photos, story and what it is. You choose, for each share, whether they also see values, serial numbers, documents, where items are kept or what you paid. A relative can add what they remember, and can join from a web browser.

In the United States, Heirloom has a directory of specialists. If you would consider selling an item, you can say so on its record. Specialists in that field may then see a short description of it, without your name, photos, any figure or your address, and ask to be introduced. Nothing more is shared unless you accept. Heirloom never puts your items up for sale.

ALSO
• Search by name, maker, room, tag, serial number, story or the name your family uses
• Bring in a spreadsheet you already keep, as a CSV file
• Record your insurance policies; Heirloom reminds you 30 days before a renewal date
• Mark an item as sold, gifted, lost or no longer tracked; its record and history stay
• Restore a deleted item for 30 days
• Download everything: a spreadsheet, your full data and every photo
• Turn on two-factor sign-in, with recovery codes
• Note who you'd like each item to go to: a private note, not a legal document

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your records belong to your account, and your photos and documents are kept in private storage. There are no ads, and your personal information is not sold. You can delete your account in Settings at any time.
