The jump in complexity from medium to high is a bit much. Would love a more gradual approach or something in between these ### 4/5 — Love This App *2025-07-20* Great midi sequencer. The only issues I have with it so far is sometimes notes get stuck, and I really wish the press/hold to audition midi sequences had a latch option since it hurts to keep holding to preview so many midi files. ### 3/5 — Midi import *2024-08-25* I haven't used this feature in a while. It used to work smoothly, but now when I import midi files with more than one instrument (from Logic Pro X or Reaper) all the tracks are mixed together on track one. Is it because I upgraded my iPad? ### 5/5 — Essential for previewing midi loops *2024-07-26* Been using Helium for a year now, It has become a staple in my AUM setup - using the midi browser to trigger loops from my large collection of midi basslines, melodies and drums loops. Helium makes it easy to preview loops with minimal setup. ### 5/5 — A powerful and multifaceted MIDI sequencer *2024-07-16* I’ve been using this app for about 5 years and it is better than ever. I use it frequently in my projects these days. If you need help understanding and using the app, good news - the built in help has been totally reworked and expanded and it’s great. Plus there’s a load of new features and fixes that have been added. The developer is very engaged and actively supports the app. There are some great tutorials out there, both old and new which can get you started or help you get the most out of the app. I consider this app a great value for the price. It’s got more features than some similar apps at double the price or more, but to me it’s worth it even for the most basic functions. ### 4/5 — It works now! *2024-07-10* Tested it out with Loopy Pro and it now works. Only issue is that the grid looks off relative to the piano roll. ### 5/5 — Great app and devs *2024-06-21* I do wish it had a “patterns” view like Atom ### 5/5 — Amazing app! *2024-02-20* The app does everything I need except having looping sequences of different lengths, but this is easily fixable by using multiple instances of the app. The only thing that is not working is the sustain pedal. If I ever press the sustain pedal during recording, everything breaks 😞 I tried it with Nord Grand, MiniFreak, Arthuria Keylab… It records perfectly if I don’t touch the sustain pedal, but once I touch it, everything just goes mute. I hope it can be fixed ☺️ ### 5/5 — A powerful stand-alone app, too! *2023-11-08* This app reads and writes MIDI files without a Host. I was having multiple issues when using Helium in AUM. Turned out I didn’t need to use AUM at all. The Media Bay took some trial and error to understand how it works. My biggest Media Bay issue was not being able to find the folders I created in Media Bay. They must be hidden folders as the iPad Files app can’t find them anywhere in my iPad or on iCloud. Nonetheless, with some trial and experimenting I was able to import, export, and create: Songs (multitrack Midi files) and Clips (single track Midi files). This app can do a lot more. I just scratched the surface of what it can do. I expect it will become one of my favorite MIDI tools. AUM is running at ~30% CPU and it’s just crash after crash after crash. Absolutely unusable in a live setting. So disappointing. Only helium will open midi files created in helium. Anything created in helium is unavailable. Just call it "save project". I turn on chord track and it doesn’t make a difference. I double tap, or hold on the blank chord track bar and nothing is shown. Please, please, show us from absolute scratch , with nothing preset in your demonstration and at the beginning of the tutorial how to get the and add chords in the track. ### 2/5 — Big disappointment! *2023-06-08* I do not know what “AUM” is. I was hoping I could create music within the app itself; however, where is the sound? Volume is turned up and I do not hear anything! Developer has many videos on YouTube; however, I do not have time to listen to them all, which would probably take hours. It also crashes the daw using the app. Extremely irritating bug. Bug Report Update- Hey Paul, there’s a consistent bug that causes crashes the project every time, while using randomisation functions, if you move over to “random” button(after mono arp, poly arp), the daw just vanishes away from the screen, then restart is the option. Amazing work on the recent updates but didn’t wanted helium to having this irritating and fatal bug. Do check on this. Given that Paul, his health and mental fortitude is intact, This app is literally going to change the game and the rules! No paul didn’t give it to me, bought it. Had flaws, glitches! But the way Paul is doing things, this app is just unparalleled! The thing is uneducated musicians won’t know the potential it offers, Paul developed this for the ones who knows the game! But once you figure out Helium, it’s incredibly powerful. This one is just right for my needs… and with plenty of extra functionality under the hood if needed. I watched the two recent masterclass tutorials on YouTube from the author. They were super clear and helpful. Bravo! ### 5/5 — Great app and devs *2024-08-24* This is a great complement to Atom sequencer whose pattern sets are similar to the remote loops in Helium but which are cumbersome to make act like Atom’s patterns. I use Helium to sequence Atom into full songs with Helium’s loops as cue points for live performance. ### 5/5 — More fluidity please. *2024-08-15* When grabbing and dragging around notes on the piano roll, the note kind of lags behind. It feels like im dragging the note by a string instead of the note selected moving right along with my finger. A great example of fluidity where there’s no lag moving notes around is beat maker 3. Sure you have way more piano roll options in this but it can feel a bit clunky when I can’t quickly / fluidly grab a note and reposition it without that laggy automation. Not bashing the app I just see this as an opportunity for growth.
